Customer service here is generally good. My major complaint is with the company itself. My community, a religious non-profit, has banked with Citi for 14 years. Each September saw me in the branch trying to clear up problems with the account. Why the signatures on the account always reverted in September to previous signers mystified me. This year I braced for the annual problems, but Citi out did itself! They had sent a letter, not to me, but to the three signers in alphabetic order. The letter sat for 8 weeks in the third signer’s mailbox as he was out of the country. The letter asked for details of the account and gave a deadline that passed before I received the letter. I went back to the branch, which couldn’t help me. I called the central number, but that person said they’d have to get back to me. The next letter said Citi was closing the account in 3 weeks time, on October 26. They actually blocked access on October 23. If you have responsibility for your non-profit’s banking, I recommend avoiding Citi.
