Very unhealthy and dirty place. Their delivery service is also awful, and the service in general is bad.

For easy straight up fast food chinese fare– they are reliable. I usually get my order with in 10 min. Every request is always taken care of. NO this is not a 5 Star mainland chineses restaurant in shanghai serving hairy crab roe. But it is my guilty regular goto for Singapore mei fun, to good old crab Rangoon(100% american). They survived a fire & rebuilt and its still just as good with all the same main employees for the last 10 years, Cheap, fast — and yes it is American version fast food chinese; but good enough for me who’s spent long periods in hong kong and shanghai… The only other canton esq place I like is sit-down which is noodle town. so this is a staple of mine for Chinese takeout– no fuss. — saddly no dim sum but i think that destroy the current menu and not really their cliental.

talk da talk… wok da wok. looking for classic NYC Chinese food for delivery or takeout? here you go: not the fanciest Chinese food takeout/delivery/restaurant, it’s pretty much a gritty joint on the corner of Avenue B and 3rd Street. no frills. majority of the«restaurant» is the kitchen. there are a couple of tables with a few chairs if you want to eat in, but there’s no heating or A/C so if it’s sweltering during the summer or freezing during the winter. you’re going to feel the sweat or the chill. majority of the business here is takeout OR delivery. i pretty much come here for the Mai Fun(Chicken or Shrimp are my go-to’s). it has the right amount of grease without being greasy. MSG heaven open your gates bc there’s the right amount of salty savory that the chicken, veggies, and eggs are coated in. the noodles themselves are thin, firm, and tasty. i’ve also had various dishes here with the fried rice substituted out with fried brown rice… which was pretty good and a lil bit healthier. the other standards like dumplings etc are just okay. i don’t love them bc the dumpling skin is too thick. however i do love the scallion pancakes here – nice n oily! the combination platters which are a half serving of a main dish, fried rice, egg roll, etc. are a good value if you are hungry and looking for variety. however there’s not a lot of saving as a large portion is about 9 – 10 bucks and a combo platter is about 8 – 9 dollars. the staff is friendly enough. they seem cool with making substitutions and changes without a frown. you have to ask for the various sauce packets outside of soy sauce if you want them. they seem conscientious about not dropping a ton in your bag unless you ask. drops mic so fork-twirl me some noodles with ease. i out. zzz.

You must be joking. I have no idea how these guys are always busy. One example is the fried rice that I got — which was cooked in oil that was 40 years old. Don’t waste your health or your time. Run away!

Very decent cheap americanized chinese food. The portions are huge and the price is just right! They have always delivered to me in under 25 minutes and the delivery guys have always had a smile on their face, which is hard considering that I live on the 5th floor of a walkup.

Those taking a lot of time out of their lives dissecting and analyzing the small treasure that is China Wok and producing a negative review have a room reserved under the name Semiramis. It’s on the second level; the guy behind the counter will show you the way. The staff of China Wok has worked harder today than you have this month. Rain or shine, they deliver the wondrous thing called American-Chinese food that Kubrick missed so much in rainsoaked Hertfordshire, that the Corleones nervously consumed while waiting to learn where Michael will have dinner with Virgil Sollozzo, that symbolized adult life to my four-year-old self, that sits in the back of your fridge at this moment. Chef Eric Ripert has kept a low profile in the kitchen, giving center stage to the kickass chick taking the orders and, then, giving them. I read several Unilocalers complain about her abruptness. I wonder if it’s occurred to these poor little helpless victims of assault that maybe the place you occupy in Miss Iron Butterfly’s psyche isn’t quite as sprawling as it is in your own ego. I do feel sorry for those culinary enthusiasts whose five dollar pints of super-good pork fried rice wasn’t quite as nuanced as you’d prefer. Why don’t you do China Wok a favor and open a restaurant in Beijing. That way, you’ll spare Miss Iron Butterfly all those sleepless nights. Meanwhile, I wish the studio would cast her in the script I just wrote. Let me see how much pull I have over there.

I have literally never had food(that wasn’t already cooked and waiting under a heat lamp) ready faster in my life. And it was delicious. Very reasonable prices($ 5.25 for a pint of pork fried rice) and the quality is exactly the grease-fried American-Chinese food that you want when you go for take out. One huge plus is that they don’t use MSG. Although there’s still gluten in the soy sauce, it helps if you’re trying to avoid gluten or just generally don’t want to eat chemicals. One tip: get extra duck sauce. I thought a couple packets would do it, but they gave me far more fried rice than I’d expected so I didn’t grab enough. Besides. Who really needs an excuse to get more duck sauce?!

Pros: it was fast delivery, within 20 minutes when we were quoted at 45 – 60 minutes. It was cheap. Cons: everything was sub par. I ordered sweet & sour shrimp, while they appeared huge, it was mostly the breading that made it look like. The duck was full of inedible grizzle. The fried crab sticks were like a spin off of fried mozzarella sticks? Not too tasty. The sauces were dull & tasteless, watered down almost, with a funky twang to it. Even the fortune cookies were dull. I’d love to have a refund, since 95% of our meal wound up in the trash.

When I order cheap Chinese take-out, I always expect it to be mediocre, but this food was pretty bad even by cheap Chinese take-out standards. I chose this place because the prices were a couple dollars cheaper than most other options in the area. Looking back I maybe should have seen that as a red flag, but China Wok had a solid 3 stars on Unilocal so I decided to order anyway. I ordered the sesame chicken with a side of pork fried rice. It arrived rather promptly, but upon sampling my first piece, I discovered that it barely had any sauce on it. On top of that, there was a grossly disproportionate amount of fried batter to chicken and some of the pieces didn’t seem to have any meat in them at all. Essentially China Wok had provided me with Sesame Deep-fried Batter. Gross. I am usually firmly indisposed to throwing food away, but this I just could not stomach. I ended up throwing 80% of it away. As for the pork fried rice, it was edible, but still a little below average at best. Despite my disappointment, I am giving China Wok two stars instead of just one because their delivery guy was super friendly, and I am a sucker for friendly service in unexpected places. As a seasoned customer of cheap NYC take-out places, I have been conditioned to expect food delivery workers to usually just shove my food at me with a grunt – which in my opinion is pretty understandable considering all the aggravation those guys must put up with on a daily basis. But the guy who delivered to me from China Wok wasn’t just polite, he was downright chipper! A rare breed in the world of food delivery workers!

China Wok has that cheap and all-too-mediocre«American Chinese» food reserved for the ranks of mall food courts. The firecracker-tongued woman working the register and the phone keeps her staff efficient and busy. The food is definitely a great value. It will take some time to find that menu item that if you eat enough times you might just think is good,… Let’s be real, for a $ 6 for a «small,» which is a rectangular take-out container half rice/half entrée, you can’t go wrong. I particularly«enjoy,» in the most relative-to-location/convenience way possible, the Sichuan tofu which I get with broccoli and not mixed vegetables. A lot of people order the chicken wings here… apparently they are quite good. The most unfortunate thing about this place is they are incapable of making anything even remotely spicy.

I used to go here all the time, to get their general tso chicken to go. Fast and cheap. I also tried their eggplant and chicken w/garlic sauce. The eggplant was not cooked thoroughly. I recently ordered their chicken wings w/fries, do not order it because their wings are so small. I remember it didn’t used to be that small. I’m not sure if it was just that batch or if the size of the wings have been down graded.

2.5. I’m chinese and eat a shit ton of chinese food. I like china town chinese food, I like american chinese food, I like all asian food in general. This place is your basic american chinese food place, you will find your standard sesame/orange/general gao’s chicken, beef/chicken and broccoli, mooshu whatever meat, fried rice, lomein, egg foo young, etc. you get my point. I live a block away so I order all the time when I’m in a bad mood/hangover(it’s not a good moment for me, honestly). I always get something like general gao’s chicken special, comes with fried rice and an egg roll or something like that. the singapore mai fun ain’t terrible either. mooshu is dec as well. My only qualm is that every time i order with a card, they charge me an extra $ 2…what?! considering I’ve ordered as a regular in the last two years, once I found that out, I haven’t ordered for over 3 months now. this food is worth 7⁄8 bux + tip(and I live too block away… yes, I am lazy, but especially for american chinese food since it fits the mood imo). It’s not worth $ 10 + tip. Change your card policy and I’ll probably be back pretty soon on a regular basis, and maybe change the review rating to a 3.

Pros: It’s cheap. You get a ridiculous amount of food. It’s tasty enough. Exactly what I’d expect from my corner chinese takeout place. My takeout orders are generally ready in 10 – 15 minutes(you know, enough time for me to put on pants and walk down there). Cons: None, really. It’s surrounded by bars, so if you go late on a Friday/Saturday, you’ll be surrounded by drunk idiots, but not really their fault.

Yo, first of all, calling it cat meat is hella racist. Even if you didn’t like the food, you wouldn’t be calling it cat meat at a European-American restaurant. Quit that shit. Second of all, it’s not nearly as bad as the haters are putting it out there. It’s not NEARLY as good as Chinatown joints less than a 10 minute walk south and west. But it’s decent. I pick up something any time I have a show /performance at the Nuyorican Poets Café. If you like standard Chinese take out, it’s decent, and they don’t bitch at me for using my credit card on a sub-$ 10 order, which is nice. For me, I like the Singapore Chow Mei Fun.

The General Tso’s Bean Curd is really good. Too often bean curd is serves soft and mushy, even after being fried, but this is firm and crispy. They are cheap, open late, helpful, and serve good notgoodforyou food!
