Not bad, not great, rice was fairly bland but well cooked. Salad was fairly lackluster and the portion of lamb was on the small side, propped up with onions. The white sauce wasn’t memorable, nor was the hot sauce which as one reviewer pointed out is as hot as the Halal Guys cart, this is not true at all. I probably won’t go here again, its just too average.

Excellent!!! I only had the chicken and rice with salad. Go easy on the red sauce, believe me a little goes a LONG way because it’s VERY spicy. This was our first stop on our first trip to NY and we waited about 20 minutes in line. Don’t let the pigeons veering above scare you just go about your business. It’s definitely worth the wait. The guys working the cart can be a little short so just step up, order, pay, and go… It’s that easy. Don’t complicate it. We paid cash about $ 15 for two orders and two sodas and we got change back. It’s about a pound of food. Super yummy halal chicken that tastes so good. I wish I had some now. The rice is a lot too and it’s fluffy, like a cloud. Order the red sauce on the side and mix it with the mayo, lettuce, chicken, and rice and you’ll be smiling for the rest of the day.

I’ve never been to the Platters Chicken & Rice on 53rd&6th, but this is VERY good Chicken & Rice that’s available during lunch time. This guy sits at the corner of 59th Street and Lexington Ave, right across Bloomberg Tower. This guy doesn’t do night time, so you can get your lunch on with a great serving of seasoned chicken, rice, salad and white/red sauce. I highly recommend it for lunch, can’t beat a $ 5.00 great tasting meal.
