This place was very good. We had the lamb and Cous Cous, it was delicious. We had the fataya which was tasty, but a little oily, it is fried food though. Service is a little slow, but good experience overall.

The food was amazing. Had the grilled chicken with rice, veggies and eggs. I also had the sorrel which tasted a bit different from what I’m used to but not bad nonetheless. I will definitely be coming back. The Lamb dinner, which my friend had with the same side as I, was not bad as well.

I was around this area and was looking for a restaurant after watching a movie at the local movie theater. Using Unilocal,I found«Chez Alain» with great reviews so I got tempted especially because I had not tried Senegalese food since I live in the city. This choice was probably the best I made! The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere with nice music playing. All of the staff was super nice, I even had a quick talk with the cook ! I order the Fried Tilapia(Fish I really advice you to order there!) with brown rice and the vegetables, it was just very delicious and flavorful. I give 5 Stars to this place because I really enjoyed it and will definitely come back there again to try their chicken dishes.

The food takes a little while to come, so probably shouldn’t go if you’re in a rush. But their vibe is laid back so as long as you are all will be well. Also — the food is AMAZING. and you get a TONOFIT. So much and it’s SOGOOD. It’s just TOTALLYTOTALLYFANTASTIC.

Amazing food that hits the spot! Accessible from 116th and 125th cross town busses. Great atmosphere. TV to watch soccer games as well.

Updating because I tried a couple more of their menu items and was impressed. Their chicken dishes seem quite good and their dibi viande is incredible. Just stay away from the fish.

Chez Alain is a fairly new restaurant as of June 2015. This restaurant has many positive qualities. Most of the dishes have a meat component(Chicken, Lamb, or Fish), and stews are highly prevalent, usually involving root vegetables and rice. All my meals here have been very high in quality. The food is flavorful, the portions are large, and the price is decent. I particularly like the Dibi(which is a simple grilled lamb dish with some type of hot sauce, mustard, and onions), but everything I have had there has been great. It is a simple thing, but I really like the care they take with the plantains(many restaurants are inconsistent with plantains, in my opinion). The fish is delicious, but is often highly bony and I have yet to figure out how to efficiently eat it.
