Slowly turning into the Upper West Side. The gays are leaving and in their stead… an influx of recent college grads. No mas, por favor.

What can I say, Alot of hot spots to attend when you are in this area. The Highline I guess is where everyone is going these days. I may head there later this sunday to see it again. — I just happened to be in the right place but at wrong time last week. I was in the Chelsea Market, was doing some kind of online Scavenger Hunt and based on the clues I had headed here searching for Almond Croissants, I was in the wrong place though, I was suppose to be at Francois Payard WHEN I read more clues I found out. Still, had a great time walking through the market again, btw I still did my running around and won the headphones anyway so that was the score of the day. I was here a few times in the summer for the Tippler bar and Re: Mix Lab(alot of hip hop artists were here in a cool space to just chill). –Chelsea has it all– I mean nightlife, art, recreation, food and Piers. They also have ridiculously expensive rent and the olive garden that is kind of hidden on 23rd street. 5th Avenue around 14th street I guess is the unofficial beginning of Chelsea Neighborhood.

One of the most glamorus neighborhoods located on the West Side of the borough of Manhattan. It approximately lies between 14th to 30th street. Though primarily the neighborhood is residential with a mix of tenements, apartment blocks, city housing projects, townhouses and renovated rowhouses but has also some really nice shopping places. Chelsea Market, on the ground floor of the former Nabisco Building, is one of my favourite locations in Chelsea. The hood houses Balenciaga boutiques, as well as Stella McCartney, Christian Louboutin. There is always tons of activity happening in Chelsea Piers which has an awesome sports complex. I have attended so many wine tasting events here, last one was New York Food and Wine Festival.

Chelsea you’ve got it all. You’ve got Cash Money(Like Lil’ Wayne’s record label). You have pure bred show dogs with essspensive coats. You yield attractive men(that would never go for me). The restaurants are nearly as hot as the men. Those sassy restaurants house strong bloody marys. Tree lined streets, leather bars, Tasti D-Lite, 4−5−6, the L, the 1, the A C E. Public transportation bliss. I love you.

Chelsea! Chelsea! Chelsea! Chelsea! Chelsea! Chelsea! Chelsea! That was meant to be a recreation of the Chelsea FC chant. I imagine the intonation did not come through in writing. Well, Chelsea in London and Chelsea in NYC have very little in common, save for the fact that they are both expensive. That said, I like American Chelsea, but I don’t love it. Its pretty cute, but lacks the charm of say, a Greenwhich Villiage or a Soho. It has some areas of character and charm, but its all wound together with a more urban city feel. Restaurants in Chelsea, generally speaking, are not my favorite. There are a few little gems, but overall, I’m not floored by the cuisine. Nightlife in Chelsea I have really yet to experience. It could be great, but the mere fact that I have not been finding myself drunk at a destination with friends does not bode well for the neighborhood’s nightlife rating in my book. Overall, Chelsea is A-OK. Its certainly not my least favorite area in the city, but not my favorite either.
