Love this place — it has quickly become a new family dinner favorite! Everything they make is executed well(I LOVETHEKINGDOPORKCHOPS!) The service is usually quick. If you have a large group, make a reservation to ensure good seating! The only thing I was disappointed by recently, was their fagao they put out for Chinese new year — they looked pretty, but it was clear they cut their dough with wheat flour, and it was rather dry and not chewy at all.

I just had dim sum here. Don’t go here. Although the place is quiet and less crowded compared to a lot of other restaurant. The waiters here are so rude! Bad experience!!! Go here if you want to deal with rude and unprofessional waitress! The foods was just ehh ok.

We had the pleasure of joining our cousin’s baby boy’s 1 month dinner here. Her father in law spared no expense for the dinner with family and friends taking up the whole 2nd floor which has about 8×10 seat tables. It was a feast having 15 dishes, we are served professionally and with a smile. The servers were all on their best behavior and was very helpful, changing used dishes replacing them with clean. Helping serve the dishes then help packing them since we couldn’t finish a single dish. Everything was prepared and cooked to satisfaction. The lobsters were cooked perfectly, not over cooked. The t-bone steak was slightly overcooked for my taste but still very good. All in all everything was perfect and delicious and I will come back to try this restaurant again. Just remember that there is little parking in Chinatown so either take mass transit or put the car in the lot, enjoy.

Amongst a wealth of choice for yum cha in Chinatown, the dim sum here are a failsafe bet. Coming from abroad, I’ve realised I can’t take quality, authentic siu mai or har gow for granted, and this place doesn’t do too badly at all.

Small dim sum restaurant. Size of a small diner. Means waiting for dishes to come out one at a time. Can order if you know the name of dish you want. We order steamed pork bun and got a baked pork bun. Ordered pineapple bun(in English) and got a baked pork bun. They have both steamed pork and pineapple bun! Dishes are fresh. Selection is limited. Service is lacking. We left after getting same wrong dish twice.

One of the better places to enjoy a family meal in Chinatown. The décor and restaurant itself is a bit more updated than most in the area. The food is great and tastes very authentic. They also serve a number of dishes that were pretty unique. It wasn’t too expensive and the service was great.

This little restaurant in the heart of the original Manhattan Chinatown has been through many changes over the years. I have been here for dim sum, but more recently for a gala banquet. The service was very traditional, and the décor very typical of Chinatown today. The food for the banquet was outstanding. I am giving Chatham Square a 4 star rating based mainly on its lobster with ginger and scallion which was truly outstanding. The sweet and sour pork was not too my liking, but the food was a truly authentic Cantonese banquet. I am surprised this place does not get more press. I was here to support Cabrini Immigrant services, and had a great evening. One might say a very Jesuit-like evening.

Met a few friends for dim sum. I was a bit late so my friends already had a table. But it didn’t look like much people were waiting out front. The place is medium sized(by ny standards) and the carts move along easily here. We tried a bunch of the usual — har gow, sui mai, rice noodles, sticky rice, etc. Everything was pretty tasty. Food came around pretty often too. And by the end, when we were full, they still kept bringing food around and trying to get us to eat even more. Teapot was really shallow but filled with lots of tea leaves so we had to get it refilled a bunch of times. Sometimes it was easy to flag someone down, other times waiters were scarce. Came out to be about $ 15 per person. A nice place for dim sum in Chinatown.

We tried several dim sum today as well as a regular menu item. DIMSUM: The dim sum seemed good but man are these ladies agressive about getting your table full of dim sum that can only get cold by the time you eat it all. You really do have to be firm about saying«no.» I felt the dim sum was okay. The steamed items were 4 dumplings for $ 1.95 and $ 3.25 each. REGULARMENUITEM: It was really plain. Just a few scraps of ginger and no scallions in the entire meal and you could not taste anything in the sauce. It was really disappointing. Lunch items are about $ 6 and regular items about $ 13. EXTRACHARGES: The charge you $ 1 for tea per person, even if you think it’s going to be free. Not a fan of that kind of nickle and diming. TABLES: Had table cloths, really thin ones but at least it was something. TAX: Is not included in the menu prices. They add it on. FEELING: The place wasn’t busy when we went but we gave it a try. We don’t think we will go back. Nothing wowed us. We prefer places that are busier and where the food has some flavor. It was kind of a «meh» experience. Note that they do have a banquet room on the 2nd floor, so if you are looking for a large group/private experience, that may work in this place’s favor.

Really good dim sum, not the best I’ve had, but really nice atmosphere and everything! Made friends with some old people, so that was a plus.

I was told to come try the steam pork buns here a while ago by my co-worker’s gf. She’s a really big fan of them. I’m not a big fan of the steamed version because it used to eat is every weekend as a kid. Anyways, I sat at the counter and enjoyed a steamed pork bun and hot milk tea. It was really cold outside and I needed to kill 15 minutes before my haircut appointment. It was around 6pm on a Tuesday night when I was there, so it wasn’t that busy. I was not rushed at the counter and I didn’t need to be at a table. I left a few change for tip as my order was under $ 3. This is not a fancy/hipster place. So, don’t come here for boba tea!

Decent dimsum however I prefer those in out of the Manhattan. They are more traditional to me. The price here is really good comparing to Golden Unicorn(never go there). We spend around $ 10 each ordering without reserve and we are so full after. This is definitely a keeper in ctown. The food is decent. Normally dishes at other place in outer boroughs are taster and bigger portion thou. Definitely sure there’s waiting time during rush weekend hours since it’s pretty busy on President’s day.

I’ve never been to this place before for Dim Sum since i usually just grab and go at the place next door(Hop Shing). Since I always walk by i’ve always been a little curious as to how this place was. Sadly i’m a creature of habit and go to the same 4 or 5 restaurants all the time so it’s time for me to branch out in Chinatown.(Of course those restaurants i go to all the time are still there after 25 years so they stand the test of time and thus must be good) So anyway i walked in and was greeted by the normal line waiting for Dim Sum after 12PM on a Sunday. The restaurant was busy so that was a good sign as to fresh food and fast. We gathered our party and was seated promptly being given our table and tea. We sat and chatted a bit before ordering as the carts ran to our empty table. Quickly we filled up our table(note we had white people with us) so there were things that normally i wouldn’t order — but they slammed the food down quickly and ran off. So the variety of food was good — a lot of the normal stuff, a few of the interesting, not normal stuff, and the food tasted pretty good. I didn’t feel like they OD-ed on MSG which is usually a good sign. After the meal we were given the check and not bothered to leave either — we weren’t rushed out and was able to sit and enjoy talking and hanging out. Which is rare sometimes in chinese restaurants. The total bill came out to just over 10 bucks per person with tip and tax like 12. Everyone was full and we all had a good time. I’d come back

Affordable and authentic dim-sum place with dim-sum lady with a cart. Four of us originally planned to go to Jing Fong, but the wait for over 30 min. Instead, we came to Chatham Square Restaurant recommended by a friend living nearby. It was worth it! My favorite on the menu is the Char Siu Pastry(pork belly pastry), the chicken feet, and steamed veggie.

I love this place & have been here numerous times for dim sum. Once you are settled, there is a checklist full of Small, Medium, and Large sized dim sum plates. So, you know that this restaurant makes what you want on the spot and is not pushed on a cart. However, there is always a lady that is pushing a cart with desserts and salty foods that might have been the wrong order or something extra that the kitchen makes. Some of my favorite dim sum plates are the cruller rice roll(fried dough wrapped with rice noodle sprinkled with cilantro), steamed fun kor(vegetarian dumpling, if I’m correct), pork veal chop, pan fried turnip cake. So much more to mention! The checklist has many more items for you to check off! FRESHFRESHFRESH! Why wouldn’t you give this place a try?

Really affordable dim sum! We ate tons and the bill came out to only $ 20. Service was impeccable. I’ve never had this great of a service at dim sum restaurants. Traditional dishes(like pork short ribs, shrimp dumpling, shumai, shrimp noodle thing and tripe) were all pretty good. Not spectacular but not bad. My favorite was the tripe. Fried taro ball and fried shrimp rolls were also very delicious. 7 dishes for 2 of us and we were stuffed!

Pretty good dim sum spot right in the heart of Chatham Square. We arrived towards the tail end of dim sum brunch on a Sunday(around 2:30PM) and they still took good care of us. Not many options left since there was only a half hour left before brunch ended, but the two push carts kept making circles around our table, offering various dim sum plates. Their shrimp rice roll and the steamed fish balls were quite good. Didn’t try anything else though. Don’t expect excellent customer service. It was rather awkward to have so many servers standing around us, but at least they responded quickly whenever we made a request.

Dependable dim sum in better-than-average digs and almost zero wait on Sunday at 12:30, almost bumps this place to a 4.5. Next door at Hop Shing it was madness and I’m not quite sure why(is the dim sum even cheaper?). We got the guai-lo treatment, with the dim sum ladies rushing us all sorts of awful-delicious dumplings the second we sat down. Everything they were pushing had shrimp in it(Americans love shrimp!?). Some of the items were a little too mushy and starchy, but I still scarfed them down with pleasure. Definitely not the best dim sum, but far from bad. I approve.

This is a traditional Chinatown restaurant, Cantonese style. We had our family Lunar New Year dinner here and the service was excellent with great attentiveness. We ordered a banquet style meal for 2 tables of 9 people each and were served family style with the following menu: Mixed appetizer plate(see my picture) Walnut prawns Lettuce wrapped Buddha’s delight Winter melon & fish maw soup Steak kew with 4 mushrooms Whole chicken 2 ways(boiled & crispy) Chilean sea bass w/black bean sauce Stir fried pea pod leaves House special fried rice Vegetable lo mein(represents long life) Everything was SO good! I was surprised we still had leftovers to take home, but by the time the rice & noodles came, we were stuffed. The meal ended with sliced fresh fruit(orange, honeydew & cantoloupe) and sweet red bean soup. The chef even came out to see how we liked the meal.
