I have never posted a review on the internet before but I am so incensed by the incompetence of this office that I am forced to post this. I HAVENEVERSEENSUCHINCOMPETENT, IRRESPONSIBLEANDINFLEXIBLEPEOPLEINANYBUSINESSCONTEXT. My 14 year old daughter has gone to Dr. Merker for several years. He was billed as a pediatric ophthalmologist but now has no weekend or evening hours. After months of trying to get an appointment on a day my daughter was off from school(including one appointment that the doctor cancelled to go on a last minute vacation) I finally took her out of school for the appointment. Because i knew her eyes had gotten worse, I did not want to re-order her contacts with the old prescription so by the time we had the appointment she was down to about six pairs. Immediately after the appointment(which was on a Monday morning) we told the office to order new contacts and that we needed them by the following Tuesday because my daughter was going on a school trip to Asia the day after that. They assured me that would be no problem. By the following Monday they had still not arrived. When I called the office they accused my doorman of not giving me the package. However, they reluctantly called the manufacturer only to be told the contacts were on back order and would be mailed out on Wednesday the 11th(the day my daughter was leaving). The office refused to use another provider or get me more than five pairs of samples. The package did not arrive on the 12th and when I called again I was again told they were on back order with no shipping date in site. This time they did offer up some samples which I asked to be sent to my office overnight mail. I repeated the address three times yet they were still sent to my home! So my daughter is travelling around Asia with a pair of glasses that are the wrong prescription because updating the glasses would also have taken longer than 8 days and no contact lenses. My appointment was today at 3:30PM. It is now 7:35, and MYPUPILSARESTILLDILATED! I have gone to Dr. Merker for many years, but this really incenses me enough to warn others. He did not do my eye exam, the receptionist did. She is also the one who dilated my eyes. AND then, after dilation, I was told to wait for 15 minutes, which turned into 45! before Dr. Merker gave a quick look, said your fine, and dismissed me. Costco, here I come!
