Where do I start? From the food, to the ambience, to the service. Everything was great!!! I loved the small plates and the large variety of market fresh and local veggies. This is the place to be if you want great food that’s not served everywhere in ny. The other point I forgot to mention is the liquor bar downstairs has great cocktails. So if you’re waiting for a table, head downstairs and grab a drink by the fireplace. You’ll love it.

I went here because I heard they had acai bowls, and have never had them. I liked the atmosphere — definitely felt like a brunch kind of place, but could work for dinner too. I didn’t know what to expect, but I felt that the yogurt-goji bowl seemed like a good choice. I definitely liked the fruits in the bowl(with the exception of the goji after a while because it really sticks to your teeth), but once I was done with those, the leftover liquid felt really runny. Overall, I would probably stay away from the acai bowls here and try another dish if I come again.

Wow! Love this place! I went on a Friday night with my sister. We grabbed seats at the bar. Normally I hate sitting at the bar but the chairs had backs which was nice, so I didn’t mind it. We shared the Grilled Romaine and Roasted Beetroot Salad. It was awesome! Great flavors and it was also huge. I normally don’t like blue cheese but the tanginess went really well with the beets. I also LOVE grilled romaine. The smoky flavor of the lettuce was perfect. I got the catfish. It was VERY spicy. My nose was running by the end of it. Luckily I like spicy things so I really enjoyed it but I asked the bar tender about it and he told me it had«a little kick». I would definitely not categorize this as having a little kick or even a kick at all. It was quite spicy. Someone who doesn’t like spicy food would not have been able to eat it. So lucky for him I really liked it. But do beware if you don’t like spicy foods. It had a nice Asian soy/sesame flavor along with the spice, which I really enjoyed. My sister got the market fish of the day, which I believe was trout? She really enjoyed it. I had a bit as well and it was great. The skin was nice and crisp paired with a light garlicy sauce. We both loved how large the entrees were but everything was also very light so you don’t leave feeling icky. For dessert we had the Coconut Milk Panna Cotta. This blew me out of the water! My sister and I both loved it. It was creamy with a bit of tang from the blueberries. You could also really taste the vanilla bean. The coconut flakes were nice and crispy as well. It isn’t too sweet, so if you’re looking for something satisfying but not completely decadent give this a try. We will undoubtedly be back. The atmosphere is low key and they play great music. The host came up to us after the meal to ask how everything was and that was just very impressive to me. It’s not something you get in a lot of NYC restaurants these days. They’re not too trendy to show you some attention here. Thank you Chalk Point for a great dining experience!

walking in here… the place was empty. it was dinner time and Black Tap next door was a two hour wait. we decided to embark on a new resto to try out. Chalk Point Kitchen seemed pretty cool. farm to table, ol’ country bumpkin’ cottage in the woods type of atmosphere. sitting down to view the menu was a CHORE. it was absolute torture seeing so many things on the menu that were just«snacks», «small plates» and«to share». where’s all the entrees, then? to my liking, the fact that there is a vast selection of farm veggies/sides– i was happy to see this. UNTIL I SAWTHEPRICES. $ 12 for a side of brussels sprouts? $ 15 for cauliflower steaks and $ 15 butternut squash. i mean– there better be some crack in them sh! ts for me to pay those prices. i asked how big the portions were and the server had to nod his head«no» several times to confirm it was smaller and smaller and smaller than what my hands were measuring. this sounds very annoying of me– but i am a firm believer of what’s worth my buck and this was NOT my idea of fine dining, so give me a break. the steak tartare deviled eggs were OK. my dining companion loved it. we only got three halves. what happened to the fourth one? *shrug* MUCHTOOPRICEY.

This is such a cute, quaint space that makes you feel like you are in a country cottage as opposed to NYC. I think we were really lucky as when we arrived we were seated straight away– no wait! I originally wanted to visit CPK due to the Acai bowls I keep seeing popping up on Instagram, so I was disappointed when I realized they weren’t on the brunch menu! It just means I will have to re-visit mid-week! Our brunch however was delicious! Myself and my fellow diner started with avocado toast and for my main course I had the Mexican chorizo hash, he had the Greek yogurt and pumpkin parfait. The avocado toast was enjoyable but slightly greasy. I could get over that, but the bread was quite hard/tough. Possibly it was a day or two old? My eggs were delicious and I was very happy with them. The yogurt bowl was a decent size and enjoyable. Service was friendly and welcoming but a bit sporadic, it took a while for refills on water and coffee. I had a great experience and the food was really good. I definitely want to return to try the Acai bowls and also the sandwiches, which also looked really good! My only major complaint was that the bathroom wasn’t the cleanest. There was only 1 as far as I could see and they obviously don’t carry out regular inspections as it was dirty and it is right by the kitchen!

The only thing I regret about this place is that I forgot to take pictures of the food! I absolutely loved the lounge downstairs, we got to the restaurant early & decided to go have drinks downstairs while we waited for our table. Food: We had a bunch of appetizers Smoked Baby Octopus, some of the best octopus I have ever had! Blistered Shishito Peppers, you can never go wrong with these. Roasted Cauliflower & Parmigiano Regganito, writing about these I am having flashbacks of this tasty dish. For entrees, 3 of us had the Sea Bass & the other person order Steak… all dishes were good. I will definitely come back on my next visit to NYC.

Was hoping for good things out of this place, but left sorely disappointed because, well, the management and customer service are basically non-existent. Upon being seated, we ordered two cappuccinos. The waiter returned about 15 minutes later(sans cappuccinos) to take our food orders. We place the order and remind him about the cappuccinos. Five minutes later he comes over letting us know that they’re out of milk(the first WTF), and only have soy or almond milk available. Fine, almond milk it is. Cappuccinos arrive after some time. Forty-five minutes later my meal arrives and a hostess comes over to apologize that my friend’s meal needs five more minutes because the quinoa is taking longer than expected(second WTF… since when does quinoa take long to cook?). Five minutes later the same hostess comes back over and lets us know that now there actually is no quinoa left(third WTF… how did you not realize this almost an hour ago when we first placed our order??). They bring back the menu for my friend to pick another item off the menu — letting her know it would be comp’d — in addition to a sad cauliflower dish that, I think, was supposed to hold her over while I ate my food(Because god knows at this point there wasn’t a chance we’d actually be eating together based on how long the food took the first time around). Her food finally arrives after I’ve been long finished with mine. Both dishes are just OK — nothing to write home about, and definitely not worth the shit show it took to get there in the first place. We ask for the check. The check arrives and not only is my friend’s initial quinoa salad(that didn’t even ever exist) still on the bill… but so is her replacement meal that was supposed to be comp’d(final WTF). I’d like to think that our experience was an outlier here, but throughout our three hours in this restaurant we heard multiple other tables being told that they ran out of certain ingredients and witnessed most receiving their dishes in extremely awkward intervals with large gaps in between — all with very few apologies from the waitstaff or any realization from management that this type of service is not enjoyable for anyone. I get it, the place is trendy and ‘Instagram-worthy’ — but so are about two thousand other restaurants in New York, and I think I’d rather take my business to just about any of them over having another experience like this one.

The Quick: Cute restaurant, good food, bad service. After two dining experiences with rude servers, I would not return. The Details: There is always a wait, and it is hard to get a reservation at this quaint restaurant. I had a negative experience on my first visit due to a waiter with an awful disposition and bad attitude. Then today, our waitress was overall unpleasant and honestly just rude. The food was good and the venue was adorable. The host went out of his way to offer good customer service after seeing how unhappy we were. Overall, it was too pricey to be treated like we were an inconvenience rather than customers. The Damage: $ 60 before tip for brunch with no alcohol… just not worth it to be treated this way.

Yummy yum yum. Had the mussels, cauliflower, octopus, catfish, and my date’s mahi mahi(because I’m extremely greedy). Everything was delicious. My only suggestion would be to make a reservation. Apparently this restaurant gets quite a few VIP visitors… Also, try the cocktails downstairs. The drink menu is different from the menu upstairs.

I think I can say now that service is consistently attentive and warm. The food is still served hot and delicious and the cocktail menu is one of the best I’ve seen. I got the kale salad again. Instead of griddle eggs, I ordered scrambled and it was served over the salad. The kale here is perfection, dressed with apples, parmesan, honey, and lemon squeezes. There’s other things on the menu that I want to try(crab eggs benedict, I’m looking at you), but I know the kale salad is going to be goooood. I got the roasted cauliflower toast as well. It’s sprinkled with cheese for extra roasty flavor. I had the Pine Mercer for refreshment, made with mezcal, topped with prosecco, and garnished with a pineapple chunk. Yes, I want to sample all the food, but I really want to try all the drinks! Potent but not at all overwhelming, I’ll just have to keep coming back to try them all.

This place was amazing for dinner — all around food and drinks. First and foremost– the Bar Harbor Mussels are DELICIOUS. The kimchi and smoked bacon make this dish truly unique and a must try. Thai Lemongrass Shrimp was another favorite of mine. Kung Pao Broccoli was a good size large enough to share. Entrees and desserts are also great. Kale martini is tasty

We were a group of 10 for a brunch reservation at 1 pm. The restaurant is small and quaint. and very busy. The décor is very homey. Since we are a group, the restaurant recommended family style set menu and we of course opted for the unlimited brunch drinks. Their mimosas were delicious and flowing. The food was very fresh and delicious. My absolute favourite brunch places in soho. I highly recommend the Quinoa bowl and it has fried balls of goat cheese, waffles. I loved everything they served us to be honest :)

We arrived at 11:45 for our 11:15 reservation but they still found a table for us right away amidst the busy brunch crowds. The place was so millennially hip with all the chalk writings and the neatly string-tied napkins and the clip board menus and big wooden rustic chairs. «So this is what’s cool now,» I always think to myself when I go anywhere in Soho. I had a 2 eggs over avocado hash, which was as great as it sounds. The smoked salmon with crème fraishe on crispy wonton is also as great as it sounds. except by «crispy wonton,» they mean a rectangular strip of wonton wrapper. Oh and there’s 6 types of eggs Benedict. I tried a taste of the crab one. Delicious as well.

What I love about Chalk Point Kitchen is that it looks like it would be a trendy, pretentious kind of place, but the people who work here are awesome and laid back and the food is simple and delicious. It’s a very wooden, rustic set up, with fresh, seasonal, and colorful ingredients. I LOVE how many vegetarian options they have here. Fave brunch dishes: — the benedicts menu — steak and eggs — bloody marty mcfly — must try for bloody mary lovers — all the juice options! Fave dinner dishes: — kung pao broccoli — falafel — fried green tomatoes — hudson valley chicken — jumbo asparagus Pro tip — after dinner, check out the great bar downstairs!

CPK, you beautiful little thing, you… you’re officially my new favorite spot! Strolled in on a Saturday, with no reservations for 2 people, 20 minute wait for the bar. Not bad! This is probably one of the only brunch places in NYC that you can leave full, but not«guilty.» You know that feeling… when you indulge in one-two-many sugary mimosas, your egg omelet resembles just a mound of melted cheese, your burger is basically just bacon… We’ve all been there. What I love about CPK is that their menu is so diverse with HEALTHY and YUMMY options. Tried: Smashed avocado toast, Maine peekytoe crab benedict, and Heirloom roasted carrot salad with friend eggs. All amazing. Never thought I would order a carrot salad for brunch, but this one came with black truffle and lemon vinaigrette. TO. DIE. FOR. If you’re into green juices, definitely go for the Kale martini. If you’re not into green juices I would suggest something else because this cocktail tastes like straight up health freak with a side of alcohol ;) Can’t wait to come back!

Loved brunch here! Cute décor, has a rustic farmhouse meets shabby chic feel. It’s a little small inside so I highly recommend reservations. We did not have reservations for Saturday brunch. The wait wasn’t to long, around 35 minutes. We ordered the following: 1. Avocado hash 2. Chorizo hash 3. Quinoa salad 4. Side of bacon All were yummy. The chorizo hash has great flavor but a little greasy/heavy. The avocado hash is a bit lighter. The quinoa salad is nice and light and there are 3 delicious fried cheese balls. Prices aren’t too steep considering its NYC. Overall, delicious and love the décor.

When in NYC don’t you sometimes miss grandmothers cooking? Remembering those times growing up where you and the family all gathered around the wooden table in the cottage near the woods by the barn? Well, I didn’t because my grandmas cooking was basically rat poison. But if I did have that picture perfect family growing up I would totally miss that stuff, and Chalk Point Kitchen would be the type of place to bring me right back to that home-y, farm-to-table, warm & welcoming environment that never actually existed in my twisted family but def did in the movies, commercials, etc. This has come to be my favorite NYC brunch establishment. Yes I know, bold statement. You are immediately transformed into the scene described above upon walking in. You will notice all the fixtures, flowers, lighting, wagon wheels, and other farmesque chachkies perfectly set on the walls throughout. You are also greeted upon seating with a mini chalkboard welcoming you by name with the cutest table setting(red and white squared napkins) on the perfect country wooden tables. Brunch is very busy, but do not discount dinner here if you cannot get a brunch reservation. Everything is good and I mean everything. I have been about 5 times now and have always had wonderful experiences any time of the day. Keep in mind it is hard to point to specific dishes due to the changing seasonal menu. But any of the eggs benne are fab. I recently ordered crab eggs benne and added slice avocado on top. One of best brunch wins I have ever had for myself to date. The homemade muffins and jam, YESYESYES. Their steak sandwich with tamarind sauce is unreal. Anything on the menu with beets in it is delicious. Their truffled roasted carrots are a must as a side dish. Anything with the word tartare in it from here is a complete power move and you will love. Everything is fresh and there are some many healthy options for you clean eaters out there to enjoy. For drinks they have a wonderful bloody mary with shrimp and bacon. Highly recommended. Service is always on point with friendly and personable servers who engage in discussion way beyond«what do you want to eat?» when they can. Recently had Cesar and ended up recommending another waiter to CPK who I thought would fit in really well. Just wanted to finish with the fact that my experiences here have been communal. Although not communal seating, I found myself receiving and providing dish recs almost every time I come here and engaging with a nearby table. The experience here is like that of a close nit family and I love it. It is truly something special. I love to recommend it to people visiting NYC. And I love to return whenever I come home. And I will continue to do so again, and again, and again.

My friend and I managed to get a last-minute late brunch reservation here last Saturday. We showed up an hour and a half before to try to see if we could get seated early, but no luck as the restaurant was super busy. Thus, we walked to the nearby SoHo area for some shopping and returned right on time for our reservation at 2:30PM. We were seated fairly quickly — however, right after being seated we were asked to move to another table to allow more room for the table beside us. This was not too much hassle and didn’t really bother us as we haven’t ordered yet. Both my friend and I opted for the fresh juice for our drinks. From the list of ingredients, you get to pick up to 3 items for your juice, no sugar added. We opted for something green to make ourselves feel better about what we were about to indulge in. The juice didn’t taste amazing, but was fine for me as I have a high tolerance for«healthy-tasting» drinks. We ordered 2 items to share. One was the quinoa salad bowl(we added chicken). The portion was generous and ingredients tasted fresh(I think the restaurant markets itself as farm to table). I like my quinoa crunchy and that it was. Also, I appreciated that the dressing was served on the side — the dish was flavourful enough even without the dressing. The salad is also topped with 3 giant warm goat cheese balls — lucky it came in this form, as neither of us were a fan of goat cheese and we forgot to tell the kitchen to have it substituted. The only disappointment about the dish was that the avocados were not ripe at all, and thus not very tasty. As always, I wanted to try the French toast on the menu. This did not disappoint! It was a croissant French toast(so buttery and lots of layers) with bananas and strawberries, served with a generous amount of maple syrup. We couldn’t finish the French toast, so we asked to have it packed to go. There was a mix up in the kitchen and it was accidentally thrown out. They graciously offered to make me another one — it was about a 10 – 15 minute wait but we didn’t mind as we weren’t in a rush. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and experience here. Next time I’m in the area, I would come back to try out the other items on the brunch menu.

We ordered the Bloody Mary, which didn’t have the shrimp or bacon, which was seen in other photos. I ordered the pomegranate pineapple drink and it was very bitter… I did not taste much pineapple which was disappointing; I wouldn’t order it again. As for the food, the crab eggs benedict was incredible and I devoured that platter within 10 minutes. We also ordered a side of bacon and it was the perfect pairing. We tried the avocado eggs benedict and it was very fresh and appetizing. They did not have ketchup, salt or pepper seasonings available at our table(or any tables nearby) and they did not offer them to us. However, they were very attentive at refilling our water glasses. The heat was intense in the restaurant(on that day, it was around the 90s and they keep the front door open). They only have two fans and no air condition. It was uncomfortable trying to eat a brunch with sweat dribbling down and people around us(which adds more heat); plus it was extremely noisy since the restaurant was filled to capacity at that time.

Yay! A brunch place that is adorable and charming but has more than five tables! And they take reservations! We got: avocado eggs Benedict, croissant French toast, side of potatoes with salsa verde(you have to ask for it) and a Bloody Mary. All stellar. Salsa verde, though, was surprisingly my favorite part — so fresh! I just wish the place had AC — it was 90 degrees out and they only had two fans. I felt terrible for the cooks. We left full but I’m coming back(on a cooler day) for that cake…
