Carvel Cake

I was a little worried because there seemed to be no actual evidence that this Carvel exists. No signs, no reviews … nothing. But according to the Carvel website, it existed, and so I called the number to ask if I could have a birthday cake personalized — with a few hours’ notice.
«Yes!» they said. «Just use the internet form and write SAME DAY in the comments.»
So I did, and they called back to confirm within a few minutes, and my cake was ready in 3 hours! It’s hard to beat that kind of service — especially for a business in midtown Manhattan.
The only trick: IT’S INSIDE SUBWAY. The address is for the business offices next door, but the desk guy will kindly direct you toward the Subway shop next door. There were no signs on the door or anywhere else that I could see, but sure enough, I got my cake. I don’t think they do any ice cream other than cakes — just check out the website to make sure before you go.
My experience seemed a little silly, and I may have wandered the block a few times, but I’m incredibly happy with the result. Thanks, hidden Carvel!
