This is truly every Sex and the City’s fan dream come true. To see the steps where Carrie Bradshaw sat, kissed, and cried on, it doesn’t get better than that! If you have time, are in the west village, and just happen to be a HUGE fan of Sex and the City, it’s definitely a stop you should try to make. It’s only a couple of blocks away from The Highline and Washington Square Park. A real family lives there, so when taking pictures they appreciate it if you don’t stand on their porch, and I’m not saying this because I know the family, there’s a sign on a chain blocking the steps that says it. It’s also a great place to meet other fans and discuss whether your team Big or team Aiden and the hopes of a Sex and the City 3 hehe.

Why not? If you have an extra minute. Might as well. A must for every sex in the city fan.

Iconic landmark. As a new yorker, I truly feel horrible for the people that live here with massive onlookers and throngs of tourists posing and mozying along. I’m guilty of that too, of course, but I try not to add to the circus. I do bring visitors here on occasion when brunching nearby but they make the requisite donation to animals in exchange for photos. Great stops for SATC fans but please be respectful to the neighborhood.

It’s a tourist trap, plain and simple. There is nothing special about it. It is literally a stoop. You cannot go in as people LIVE there. There is a chain blocking the steps and if you try to walk up the stairs an old guy who lives downstairs will yell at you(basically until you cry). Don’t waste your time here. Also if you decide to visit, as a resident of this area, be considerate. Lots of people will be trying to take pictures so it is necessary to wait your turn. In my opinion, you should just skip it. Again, nothing special– just a building front! Try walking down bleecker street instead.

Cool idea but you can’t go on the steps. Construction on the street when I went and the cranky guy next door yells at you to move the whole time. One touristy thing I did in NYC and it almost made me cry how awful the experience was
