Awesome view — i love it because you can see the entire Rockefeller center right in front of you. It’s also a great place to take a break from all the shopping and walking

Located on the 8th floor of saks in the back of the ladies shoe section, my favorite floor off course. The place looks very classy and the staff is nice. My friend and I were seated right away next to the window with a nice view of Rockefeller center. I decided to get a lunch special which included a small salad of just greens, a butternut squash soup, and half tuna sandwich. The salad could have been better, the soup had an interesting after taste, & I loved the tuna sandwich. Before we got the food, we got a cute bread basket with some butter. I enjoyed it but it would have been better if it was warmed up. The service was good and the prices are pretty high but it was expected. It’s nice to have a place to go eat while you are shopping but next time I’m there I feel like I would choose somewhere else to eat.

Swanky place to eat on Saks’ 8th floor. Had a great view of Fifth Avenue as a friend and I grabbed a late lunch/early supper after some vigorous shopping. The staff are super friendly, not pushy or seem too forced and made us feel welcomed. The place looks nice and isn’t loud, thank goodness, which makes it a great place to sit and have a decent conversation. The food was OK. Once seated we were given a basket which contained crackers, a croissant, a roll, and some sort of bread with raisins in it. Tried each one(minus the raisin one) and the butter was salted to perfection! I ordered the Bacon Jam Grilled Cheese and the Crab and Corn Chowder. The grilled cheese contained havarti and gruyère cheese which were yum, but the sweetness of the bacon jam was what threw me off. The chowder wasn’t bad though, it contained bits of potatoes which fit in well. I also ordered the cranberry lemonade which was deliciously sweet! Overall, I give this place a 3.5 as the food could be better for the price.

A great place to sneak away from the crowds and get a bite to eat in midtown. The café is kid friendly and has some great views of the city and Rockefeller center. We stopped into Saks after visiting the Christmas tree in Rockefeller center. Check out the window displays on Saks before you head up the elevator to the eighth floor. There is amazing vegan options too — which is rare and bonus! Merry Christmas!

3.5 stars. But I still keep coming back, because I can’t find a decent lunch option for when I’m in the area. And no, Sarabeth’s and Chipotle cannot be the only viable dining options that won’t break the bank and aren’t crowded with financiers. On the 8th floor of Saks, along with the department store’s shoe collection, is Café SFA. Take the right-most express elevator straight to the top floor, and walk straight pass the Louboutins, Manolos, and Diors. Eric will greet you with a sweet smile and insist that some of the more coveted window seats are ‘reserved’. No, they are not reserved. The window seats look out to Rockefeller Center, but you won’t be able to see much of the foot traffic, just a view of the security bars, 620 Loft and Terrace where Landry Fields married his model wife, and St. Paul’s. The décor is underwhelming for a Saks Fifth Avenue establishment, with over worn chairs and a Art Deco-reminiscent chandelier in the middle of the restaurant. It’s definitely not what I imagined the café to look like, but like I said, I keep returning because it’s a easy lunch option for me when I am in the neighborhood. The best part of my meals at Café SFA are their bread baskets, that are jam-packed with raisin bread, crackers, pretzel-croissants, and croissants. The meals usually a little on the lackluster side of things. I’ve tried their crab cake, lamb burger, turkey and avocado sandwich, lamb and pine nut meatballs, and lobster roll. And needless to say, it did the trick– I was full, but nothing really blew my mind. The crab cake seemed to have been delivered frozen from an out-of-state vendor, and served fried. The lamb meatballs were dry, unfortunately, and was served with a tzaziki sauce, which I am not too fond of. The turkey sandwich, too, was dry and hard to eat without a big glass of water. The lamb burger was decent, not as good as Kaia Wine Bar’s lamb burger, but not as dry and choppy as the meatballs. The lobster roll was buttery, and is served either hot or cold. One more thing– the waiters refuse to wait on tables that aren’t theirs. And twice, my waiter went missing, and it took the staff about 10 – 15 minutes to locate my waiter when all I wanted was my check.

Love Café SFA. Been here about two times, and really enjoy coming here. Would definitely return with girlfriends!

For many years I worked right across the street from SFA. I’d pop in for shopping(great makeup counters and shoe department), and would often meet girlfriends at Café SFA for a quick bite(I think that’s what I always ordered was actually called — the quick bite — or something like that). And that’s just what it was, a satisfying, quick bite to eat: Sandwich, side salad and cup of soup. I always thought it was the perfect amount of food for lunch and always tasty(and fast when you have to head back to the office). I also liked the iced tea very much. Sure there are so many other great places to eat in NYC, but Rockefeller Plaza is a huge tourist attraction so for the area and being that it’s Saks and with the view of either Rock Plaza or St. Pat’s it’s not a bad choice for lunch.

Hosted a Bridal Shower for 25 guests here and have only great things to say. I was looking for natural light in a private party space, and this fit the bill perfectly! From the first phone call to the follow up the day after the event, I got top notch service, unbelievable customer service, fabulous food, great staff… everything was more than I ever expected! Alex is the greatest – no question is stupid and she always answers promptly and with great solutions. I highly recommend Café SFA in general, but even more so for a party.

Great views and phenomenal food. Also, shoegasm on the 8th floor before you actually walk into the café. Great service, solid food. A little pricy, but it’s inside Saks, of course. I ordered the free range chicken with seasonal vegetables and a side of bacon Candide brussels sprouts. It was delicious!

We usually frequent«Fred’s at Barney’s,» but today we decided to switch it up and try the café at Saks . I admit to being pleasantly surprised . We had a nice seat by the window, staff was pleasant and attentive. On the recommendation of the waiter we ordered the dumpling appetizer. That was nothing more than average. The mushroom tarte excellent. Everyone was in sandwich mode, the turkey club, very good, lobster club was very good but Fred’s is still one of the best around. The tuna sandwich is a #1. It was a nice change and a enjoyable lunch.

Had 3 lunches there — BESTSALMON I have ever had! I actually order it 2xs I just had to have it again :) Cheese platter view pretty and unique in its presentation! Planned my holiday company party there — PERFECTION! The staff was easy to work with and accommodating. Alex — she is the best person to work with for big events! Food was divine — presentation spectacular Wait service were clean, polite, and smiled! A++ PS — use the express elevator inside SAKS to get to the correct floor!

Really worth the stop. One of the best lobster rolls I’ve had in a long time. The Mrs. had the Cobb salad which was a generous portion. Very attentive service staff and didn’t have to wait more than a few minutes to be seated. The tab before tip was $ 75ish which included two proseccos but no dessert(we are headed downstairs to Jacques Torres!). Would come again without hesitation!

I’ve been to café SFA before and I really enjoyed it both times. Although it’s pricey, it’s not bad at all. I like the location, 7th floor behind the women’s shoes in Saks Fifth Avenue, and I enjoy it because it’s not as crowded as other places in 5th ave. It’s also pretty decent food and yes, it’s pricey, but honestly everything is pricey on 5th. This time, I got the lobster club sandwich and it was pretty delicious. My sister got the turkey club salad and she enjoyed it. My mom got the lobster salad and my dad got the risotto with shrimp. We all enjoyed our dishes and ended up spliting a dessert. It was pretty sweet, but so delicious! Our waiter was very attentive and despite his area being pretty full, we got our dishes really quickly. He didn’t make us feel rushed at all. All in all probably one of my favorite places to eat on 5th ave!

Not very impressed with this place. Located in Saks it was more of a convenience why we chose to eat here. Décor is very nice and staff were pleasant. Not a very good lunch menu. Pricey. Choices were limited but I went with the chowder and a side of potatoes. The chowder was quite nice but the potatoes were… well not nice. It tasted like what I would imagine eating the contents of an ashtray would taste like. The waiter kept trying to take away our food even though we were clearly still eating and telling him we were not done yet. Kind of annoying but I think he possibly did not speak English. I wouldn’t be in a rush back here.

Unilocal address is WRONG It was really hard to find somewhere not busy the last Sunday before Xmas. This was such a nice lunch I will definitely come back. We ate pretty light but it was plenty. Had a lentil soup, half chicken sandwich and a salad. My aunt had a clam chowder. We both drank Rosé. It was a nice atmosphere, not loud at all, yummy food and great waiter. Highly recommend

Swanky spot tucked behind women’s shoes on 7. Pricey, as salads are in the $ 20 range, and entrees are in the high $ 20s. I tried the Saks cobb salad for $ 22. The cherry tomatoes, haricots vert and avocado were fresh and tasty. The diced chicken was dry. There is also a $ 19 soup and half sandwich option. Tables are configured in a way that you actually have a fair bit of privacy. The menu offers a variety of appealing options and this is a comfortable spot to rest your feet in between uptown shopping.

It was my cousin from Hong Kong’s first trip to NY. What better way to show a stylish HK girl around the shopping capital of the world than a Sunday champagne brunch at one of the premier NYC department stores. Located at the 8th floor of Saks Fifth Avenue, you have a wonderful and unobstructed view of Rockefeller Center and 5th Avenue. Champagne brunch at Saks Fifth was perfect. There was little wait(they do accept reservations), and the service was great! Our server was super attentive and made plenty of good suggestions for our meal. Don’t let the hefty price tag of shopping at Saks deter you from coming here to eat. Brunch here is actually a pretty good deal. For at just about $ 30, you have yourself a breakfast cocktail(mimosa, bellina, or bloody mary), cup of coffee /tea /juice, entrée, and cheesecake. The entrees are pretty standard for breakfast/brunch– you can choose from different waffles, toasts, omelettes, and of course Eggs Benedict. There are also some salad choices, and soup for those who want something else. Our waiter was ready and willing to cater to any of our desires. He was super friendly and even chatted with us for a bit. Although I’ve previously been here and enjoy the service and food, I’m glad that my cousin also enjoyed her first NYC brunch!

We came for lunch after my wedding dress fitting. We asked for a table by the window and got a beautiful view overlooking Rockefeller Center. I worked there for 4 years and never knew there was a beautiful garden with a fountain on the roof! Our waitress was always around when we needed her. She didn’t rush us but was ready when we were. I had soup and a half chicken sandwich and the crab and corn chowder was SOGOOD. I wish I had more right now! I also had a delicious tea with pureed fresh strawberries which was so refreshing. Everyone loved their food and the ambiance. I know it’s touristy but it was fun for this special occasion and not ridiculously overpriced.

Cute place, friendly staff, food is O-K. Came here with a party of 8 on a Saturday afternoon for brunch. It was pretty emptied. We weren’t rushed by our waitress, she told us the specials that weren’t on the menu. I was suckered into the lobster club sandwich that came with bacon and avocado. The food came quick. Everything look pretty but the taste was O-K. There were big chunks lobster in the sandwich but I had better elsewhere. One of my friends ordered steak frites, her steak was O-K too I had to dip the steak into ketchup to make it taste better. $ 31 for a lobster club sandwich? Definitely not worth it. I mean, I was satisfied with the meal because it wasn’t a heavy dish but really $ 31 for a blah taste? Not a place I would come back to. And their«strawberry iced tea» tasted like strawberries in water. So yea, 3 stars for the presentation and attempt on taste.
