C S Crystal Cleaners

I live right down the street on 94^th and have been doing both wash & fold and dry cleaning here for over four years. Have never had a problem or a discoloration or a lost article. Very quick, prompt, and cheap (!) service for everything from my undershirts to my suits.

I am beyond angry with Crystal Cleaners. I dropped a dress off a week ago, needing about a half an inch taken in from the bodice. I picked the dress up 30 minutes ago and discovered that the alterations had not been done at all, the dress fit exactly like it did a week ago. She made a minor alteration but didn’t actually take-​in the dress. I was put on the phone with the seamstress and she refused to refund my money. My event is this weekend and I now have a dress that doesn’t fit and weird seems along the sides.
Their dry cleaning is too expensive and their alternations are horrible. This place is to be avoided.

They ruined a shirt and sweater!
I went here on the advice of my doorman (apparently most people in my building get their clothes cleaned here?!) and although some of my clothes came back fine, two shirts were destroyed!
The first was a striped, dry-​clean only fabric. They made the colors run into each other and they shrank the shirt! How do you shrink something you’re dry cleaning? A $ 150 top will now be going in the trash thanks to Crystal Cleaners.
Another sweater of mine was black with a woven white design and they made the colors bleed so the now the white part is stained by the black! At least it is still wearable, but it’s just a ridiculous mistake.
I hate crystal cleaners!

Why I tried them 2x is beyond me. The first time, the clothes came back and they had spots on them. Pressed, not dry cleaned.
The second time, this is amazing… I brought a brand new, tags still on, designer dress in for a simple alteration. I just needed it taken in (not even a lined dress).
It took 3 weeks to get the dress back (THE FIRST TIME).
When I took the dress out of the plastic wrap the next day I found that they had SEWN the «Open Back» Designer Dress CLOSED!
I was furious. I brought the dress back. The lady said «Oh Okay, we’ll fix it» as if it’s nothing. Another 3 weeks to get the dress back the 2^nd time. And this time, my dress had a hole in it because of the damage they had done when they made the huge error of sewing up the back. And, not only that after I’ve paid them I realized I don’t think they ever even took the dress in. The original alteration.
I’d go back in and demand the money back but I cannot tell if they’re smiles and lack of communication is not understanding english well, or the possibility of them using that in order to get out of dealing with their mistakes. Either way, I’m NOT recommending this place.

They gave away my wife’s sweater to another customer. They promised to refund us for this error, but they continue to ignore our claim. It has been over four months. I would avoid this place at all costs.
