Food was disgusting, not fresh at all. The delivery guy pressed me on not giving him a big enough tip.(Rude) Do not order from here.

We needed something quick and healthy before heading out and thought we’d give this place a go. We got the chicken health bowl, and two chicken wheat tacos. It was quick and the food was cooked well: the veges were vibrant and plenty of them, chicken cooked well and delicious. Only 20 for delivery. Would definitely order again.

DONOTEATHERE!!! I found a piece of plastic that was in my quesadilla. Highly suspect and the place should be shut down in my opinion. Steer away from this place at all costs.

I ordered a burrito from B.M. on Seamless. It was quite good, The ingredients including the chicken were fresh, arrived very quickly from Tribeca to NoLita in under 30 minutes. The only complaint I have is with their guacamole, entirely too much lime. I’ve ordered from here twice and both times I have enjoyed my burrito and thought that the guac taste was off. Other than that, I do enjoy it and would order it again, sans the limey guacamole. Also very reasonably priced. My meal including tip and tax was $ 10.88($ 1.00 upcharge for white meat chicken).

THECOOKWASFRYINGFOODWITH A CIGARETTEINMOUTH!!! Chipotle was closed for a private event(who has a private event at chipotle, btw?) so I had to wander up Church St looking for a Mexican alternative. Despite the incredible name, the scene inside Burrito Mariachi was disgusting — boxes of greasy supplies all over the place, filthy signs and counters and to top it all off, the guy cooking whatever meat it was back there had a cigarette in his mouth with a half-inch of ash hanging off… he pulled a very athletic 180-pivot out of sight when he saw me — not sure if that’s good(he suspected ashing cigarettes into your food isn’t great) or if bad(he thought he could hide it?) but either way, I just turned around and left. I can’t imagine many people dine in there, but I am sure I would have fallen victim to blindly ordering delivery from them or something. Either way, I would have felt complicit in the crime if I had not reported it, so there it is.

Delivery was fast. Burrito was so bland. Pico de gallo on the side was also bland. A bland workday made even blander by lunch. Didn’t make the rest of the day go very smooth.

I won’t lie. I was a bit skeptical about ordering from this place after reading some of the recent reviews on and here but I chanced it anyway since I was craving Mexican and the place that I normally order from was closed(for Holy Thursday?). I ordered the chicken burrito and it was surprisingly better than I thought. A little bland but I rather have it that way than too spicy. The order arrived when promised and it was still warm. Unfortunately, the can of soda that came with my order was squashed on the bottom but no biggie. I would order from here again.

DISGUSTING. I wouldn’t even serve what we got to my dog. The chorizo taco had a fishy taste to it an the enchiladas were inedible. I have no clue how this place is in business. You have been warned.

Well, this was an online delivery disaster. 8 tacos ordered. Estimated delivery time: 30 minutes. One hour later… no food. I realized I had to either a) make that bitchy where’s-my-food call to Burrito Mariachi or b) have more awkward conversations with my increasingly hungry boyfriend: me: «This show is soooo funny. Don’t you just love this show?» him: «what? oh. yeahhh.» Voice trails off…[stomach growls]. end scene. I instinctively knew it was a bad sign when a Chinese lady answered the phone. It got worse when she couldn’t pronounce«chor-izo». A Mexican restaurant operated by Chinese?! For the record I’m not that girl. I don’t mind who makes the food as long as it’s good. But if I can choose, of course I won’t order Mexican food made by Chinese for the same reason you don’t eat«ethnic» food made by hicks in a small all white southern town. I hung up the phone and relayed the message that they are sorry and it will be another 30 minutes. We both agreed there was nothing we could do, order was in. Let’s wait it out. Besides, I thought, the Chinese have mastered the art of the egg roll, sweet and sour chicken, fake Guccis, and 8 yr old Olympic athletes so how hard could making a few tacos possibly be? Apparently it’s REALLY hard. Almost 2 hours later we were still waiting, so we canceled the order. Never ate there. Never want to. From the looks of what’s been written online sounds like I’m not missing a thing. If you’re ordering take out go order from the Taqueria on Orchard St. So good!

This place had a great menu and I was surprised by the low prices. When will I learn that in this city, you get what you pay for? I ordered the 3 tacos special. It came with rice and beans. I selected a grilled chicken, ground beef and guacamole taco. The grilled chicken taco had no flavor, I had to actually check and see that there was actually chicken inside. The ground beef taco was so greasy that it ran down my hands, made the hard shell mushy and flooded the tin foil underneath. By the time I got to the guacamole taco, it was just a turn off. The guacamole was like water anyway. The rice and beans were slopped together in a «to-go» foam container and were baseless, dry and had zero flavor. This food reminded me exactly of the food that I had eaten at a combination Chinese and Mexican food restaurant. My delivery person was a Chinese man, so then I realized that I had fallen victim to one of those combo places, or at least Mexican food being made by Chinese folks in a really, really BAD way. This place is NOT authentic Mexican food(they make their tacos as Americans eat them — tomatoes, lettuce and cheese, which as you know, is NOT Mexican) and the food is just gross anyway.

You know what got me to go in here? It wasn’t the«B» rating in the window. It’s wasn’t the Chinese people standing behind the counter of a «Mexican» place. It surely wasn’t the beautiful décor. Nope, it was the bottle of green Yucateco hot sauce sitting on a table. I love Yucateco. So in I went, and ordered a ‘steak’ burrito. It wasn’t even that cheap — around $ 8. It’s mostly a take-out place, but they have a couple of tables. I sat down. The chair was nasty-dirty, and the whole place smelled a little funny. I got my burrito, which was wrapped in foil and stuck on an orange plastic tray encrusted with black dirt. I kid you not, it looks like they never scrub the trays at all. I asked for a paper plate so my food wouldn’t touch the tray. The burrito had: a little cup of red salsa: fine a very skimpy teeny portion of sour cream. iceberg lettuce: reasonably crispy black beans weirdly squishy mooshy rice — ick and a bit of some stringy, very low-quality meat. So I put some ‘Yucateco’ hot sauce on it. And then I put some more. And then I put some more. ‘Cause I could barely taste it. Now, if you are familiar with it, green Yucateco hot sauce is frickin’ HOT. Usually a drop or two is enough. Whatever was in that bottle wasn’t Yucateco. And while this place may serve what might be called«food,» it isn’t Mexican. Oh, and on my way home after eating a burrito here, my stomach might as well have had a whole mariachi band set up in it. So I learned why the name.

Got a steak burrito off seamless, and enjoyed it. Granted, I think any sort of pseudo-Mexican food is delicious, so if I think this place is a 3 star place, it really is a 2 star. Burrito wasn’t wrapped very tightly(huge strike) and cheese wasn’t thoroughly melted. Good prices though.

Before I read everybody else’s review, I didn’t realize that other people were on to the«chinese mexican» problem we have in this city. I started off thinking that I would give this place 1 star, but in fairness, the food was fresh, edible, and in large quantities. I had no complaints, really, except that this place does not taste like mexican food. Sure, you’ve got the tortilla, chicken, cheese, salsa, etc… but something is just not right. The nuances of mexican food were missing. Bland comes to mind. The chicken would have been great… with teriaki sauce on it. I don’t want to dissuade you from this place completely, but be aware that this mexican food is going to taste a lot like chinese food, and not in a «fusion» sort of way.

No, the 5 stars are not a mistake. I love Burrito Mariachi. Why? Because it is easily the best place to get a filling lunch for a reasonable price in the area. I used to work next door and I ate here virtually every day. I secretly love Chinese Mexican food in the tradition of Fresh/Fresco Tortillas. It’s a good way to get your greasy/cheesy goodness fix. The service is aways good here, everything is made to order quickly. It knows its niche and doesn’t try to overacchieve. But the main selling point is the price. This should go without saying, but you should not order the food for delivery. Delivery of any sort is usually soggy and gros because there is no way to preserve the heat of your food without condensation adding moisture to it. Do yourself a favor and actually get up and walk to where you are going to eat. Not only will your food taste better, but you will work off some of the calories on your way home and save yourself a gym membership, unless you only go to the gym to lift things up and put them down.

My brother was in town for work and surprised me by coming over for dinner. I also had a friend over that night. My brother asked what we should order and my default is ALWAYS a taco salad. Something is wrong with me. So I suggested it(half jokingly, not wanting to get my feelings hurt if they shot me down) and to my surprise they both said okay! So I went on seamless web and found this place. I ordered a steak taco salad and my brother and friend both ordered burritos. My brother got his super-sized(or whatever they called it) just to see what the difference was. It seemed to be the same size burrito but came with more sides. My taco salad was good but didn’t come with the normal expectations(no guac or sour cream) so it was a bit too dry. I didn’t notice if those types of sides were extra but they must have been. The prices were great(I think my salad was under $ 7) and we ordered a side of nachos to share. The nachos were covered in too many things and we didn’t end up eating them. Although to be honest I gave them a shot the next day and they were fine. I enjoyed my taco salad, especially considering the price, and I won’t knock this place off my list of where to order from. I will just make sure to order extra sides next time.

i dont really agree with the other reviews simply for the ‘what you see is what you get’ factor. BM is a hole in the wall, chinese owned and operated mexican take out place. you will not get authentic mexican cuisine here. the better point of comparison would be taco bell or other similar operations… and this place is definitely the best of the financial district chinese take out mexican joints. that said, their other menu options are pretty tasty and VERY cheap. their delivery is also very on-point: i live in chinatown and they always get to me in 40 minutes or less. the nachos are a good starting point and their fajitas are pretty solid, but again… not authenticas at all. if youre drunk and looking for something to help quell tomorrow mornings hangover, this is a good place to start.

I regularly get soft taco chicken fajita from them. They use dark meat of chicken. So skip if you like the breast meat. Their steak is a bit burnt and dry, but not worse than your average Chili’s or Applebee’s. Guacamole doesn’t have enough flavor and avocado, but it isn’t brown when I get it.

I ordered from here because it was on , but it was really really crappy. I should’ve known considering the cheap prices, but I decided to see how bad could they possibly make it. The nachos were soggy and gross, the chips were overly rubbery and yes the guacamole is brown. The steak in my quesadilla was overcooked and hard and chewy and tasted like burnt something. We ordered a whole bunch of other stuff but I was scared to try it. AVOID.

How are these people still in business? I knew the quality would be horrible when I saw the incredibly, scarily low prices on the delivery menu, but hey – sometimes I like to take gastronomical risks now and again. But I wasn’t expecting gristly chicken that tasted rotten, rancid cheese, stale, warmed-up store-bought chips, store-bought El Cheapo salsa, and BROWN guacamole. I’m seriously tempted to call the Health Department over this. I can only guess what the actual restaurant looks like. Avoid at all costs. If you’re starving and poor, you’ll probably find better food in a nearby trashcan than you will at Burrito Mariachi.
