Bulletproof skateshop is awesome. The staff is really knowledgeable and super nice. They stand behind their gear. No bad-itude or «too cool for school» vibe.

I recently got into longboarding and I heard that Bulletproof Comics had opened a skateshop. I’ve been a long-time fan of Bulletproof so I called to asked if they carried longboards. When they told me they did I immediately when over there to see their selection. They have a very nice setup, neatly laid out. Very helpful, knowledgeable staff. Very good variety of the best brands. Chris helped me pick out a good board that would support my weight.(I had a similar issue when I was picking out snowboards) We had a long, awesome conversation about longboarding. He gave me a few beginner tips and let me futz around on the board in the store to see how I felt on it. They also told me they give one free lessons when you buy a complete and that they plan to give on-going paid lessons. These guys know what they are doing and they are the best, friendliest, place in the area. They are always getting in new decks, parts and completes, so make sure if you don’t see something you need you can ask and they might be able to order it for you.

Bulletproof Comics is an ideal spot for a skateshop, which southern Brooklyn definitely needed. There should no longer be any need for anyone from down here to travel to Willliamsburgh or Manhattan for skate stuff, maintenance, repairs, lessons, all that. In a small space they pack a dense and well-organized selection of the best in skateboard and longboard decks, wheels, accessories, etc., and the staff is very knowledgeable and very helpful. Kudos to owner Hank who is always improving Bulletproof!
