I thought this place was decent, didn’t exceed my expectations and price was average amongst salons. My simple haircut was $ 35 included wash/cut/blow dry, not including tip. This is where other places charge and thought would be cheaper give my one $ and location in Chinatown. I was thankful to have Tony when I didn’t ask for any specific hairstylist and realized later that many people likes him. I speak Chinese so there was no communication problems. He listened well and made sure he knew what I wanted. He was very fast, I was out of the chair in less than 30 min, great for if you’re in a rush. Maybe my haircut was simple too since I just needed a straight cut, with few inches off the bottom. He recommended hair treatment given my hair was damaged/frizzy which is $ 100+ I believe. Maybe next time. I did like that there was no appointments needed, and no waiting time on a Sunday afternoon. Hair washing was very basic; obviously nothing like the ones I’ve experienced in China where they take the time to shampoo and condition hair and massage you. At the end, at the front desk for paying. It was $ 35 cash only. I gave tip to Tony in person. The front desk lady was also pointing out to me that the person who washed my hair is over there when I didn’t ask her to begin with. I didn’t understand at the time and the lady kept on repeating it. I later realized that they expect two tip, one for hairstylist and one for person who washes your hair. That was confusing and not used it that.

Paul did a lovely job with my medium layered haircut. He was very meticulous and cut carefully. After blow drying my hair, he did some finishing touches, cutting in additional layers and layering the ends beautifully. He was very polite and listened to my request to not thin it out too much or use a razor. The lady who washed my hair was very courteous as well, checking that I was comfortable with the pressure and temperature. I didn’t have to wait at all either. $ 35 before tip.

David is a hair god! I’ve been to many salons in Chinatown, and this one is the best! I went in wanting bayalage, but wasn’t 100% sure of the exact coloring. David actually made a suggestion but assured me that if I wanted to go another route it would be fine. I was so glad to go for a cool blonde look instead of a warm blonde(which often leaves my hair looking brassy). He also did a great job with the cut too and recommended me doing olaplex, which most people in Chinatown don’t even know about! I now have healthier looking hair! Very affordable and great service! I definitely recommend this salon if you are in Chinatown! Lastly, David speaks English!!!

Got my hair cut by Cindy and it turned out amazing! The shampooing beforehand was also very relaxing and a great experience. I’ve gotten tons of compliments on my new hairstyle and will definitely be going back!

I came here for a color treatment and a hair cut. My hair looked amazing. Cindy did a great job with my cut and she meticulously chose the process for my color treatment that helped even out my lighter ends. Will definitely come back and visit Cindy again soon!

I got my hair cut here. Decent prices for shampoo, cut and blow dry especially in Manhattan. Job really well done. I usually don’t like haircuts right after I have them done but I was okay with this one and it turned out even better after letting it grow for two weeks. Highly satisfied ^.

They do customized updos for $ 35, but they can’t braid. The updos are gorgeous!

I paid $ 30 and the hair stylist only spend less than 3 minutes cutting my hair. He barely did anything and my hair looked even worse than before. This is the worst place I have ever been to. What a waste.

You want Tony. I paid 40 bucks total. It was I think 30 – 32 for the haircut and blowdry and i ended up tipping 8 – 10 bucks because it seemed fair.(They didn’t charge me more for having pretty long hair btw) First they wash your hair and it’s all fine. The salon is nice looking. Nothing crazy but is presentable, clean, and fresh! Bring pictures on your phone, it helps Tony understand although he can communicate with you decently well regardless. Main problem is there’s no good transportation so had to do a good amount of walking but it’s worth it for an amazing cut. I received a lot of compliments! :)

I left a rave review after getting my hair colored and loving the results. However, even after 2 weeks, my hair kept dripping red dye. Now not even 3 weeks later, the red is almost completely gone. I’m not sure what kind of hair dye they use but I’ve dyed my hair a lot and this has never happened to me before. My bed, towel, shower are all stained red even weeks after dying my hair. I loved the results right after but hate the hair dye they used.

I had a long bob haircut in another salon, but it came out horrible, more like a straight cut with no shape! I came back here where I usually get the hair cut from, I usually have haircut with Jason, but he was on vacation. I was lucky to get Tony, he listened and he suggested and he saved my hair! After he reshaped and trimmed my hair, I look so much better with the long bob now :) I’m happy with his service! I’m so glad I have a place where I can always come back and walk out happy. Plus the wash and cut is cheaper than where I had the horrible cut! So worth it! If u wanna haircut in Chinatown, I highly recommend Tony and Jason at this salon. They r so far the best hair dresser I have encountered.

After reading reviews and the place being close by to where I live, I decided to get a blow out. First had a great head massage(wash) by a lady– she spent a good 15 minutes massaging! Then, I had a blow out– it was extremely precise and I appreciated the time it took to get it to what I wanted. The best part is that it was ONLY $ 20. They do a phenomenal job esp for the price.

B’s Beauty Salon left such an impression on me that I felt compelled to write my first ever Unilocal review! I worked with David to get a balayage-style grey ombré. The entire process took four hours(including two bleach sessions and one toning session) and David was nothing but kind, patient, and extremely thorough with his work. I highly, highly recommend him for all of your dyeing needs! The total came out to $ 150, which is a small price to pay compared to other salons you might find in Manhattan. Especially with the incredible service and atmosphere, B’s pricing is unbeatable. This is the first time where I will happily be returning to a hair salon. So, so pleased with B’s!

I came into this salon with no expectation and walked out feeling so well taken care of. I got a balayage from David for $ 180 based on the amount of dye he used.(The price range for coloring is from $ 150-$ 200). He started doing my hair around 6PM and didn’t close the store until it was done! It took about 4 hours total. I felt so bad because it was way past the store’s closing time. I was expecting to be kicked out or David to rush the job or have an annoyed attitude. But to my surprise, David did an amazing job from beginning to end. He was friendly and chill the entire time. If there is one word to describe his work, it’s meticulous. He goes strand by strand on your entire head for the perfect balayage. The blend is so natural looking! He also washed and blow dried my hair twice during this process. I couldn’t wait to see the results after each wash! Overall, I am satisfied with how my hair looks and very impressed with the service. The price is also very affordable. And for the quality you get, it’s such a steal!

I was skeptical if anyone can do a simple short Bob cut the way I wanted after a disastrous experience at another salon. Thanks to Unilocal I picked the right salon with a professional stylist. Jason was great even though he doesn’t speak much English. I showed him a picture and with gestures to communicate how I want my hair to be cut. Jason went to work immediately. He was patient and went back two to three time to fix my hair. The outcome is just the way I like. Even though it is a little pricey($ 30) for a 20 minutes trim, I was more than happy to pay and I will definitely return.

Just got my haircut by Jason n it was def worth all $ 30 of it n then some: better than the $ 75 cuts i get at edgier places. I showed him a pic of what I wanted, with some minor adjustments, n he went with it. The place isn’t fancy, but it’s clean n comfy. English doesn’t flow easily, but they have someone to translate. Make sure u bring a picture of what you want! Tony was cutting someone else’s hair n it looked pretty good too.

I came on a Wednesday, first time here so I had no preference of who to cut my hair. It was $ 30 for a haircut and Jason cut my hair. His english wasn’t too great so luckily we spoke to each other in mandarin. I had the best hairxut ever at this place. Will be returning. Not sure if I should even try somebody else since Jason did such a great job with my hair. This salon is definitely out of the way and far from the subway but worth the walk.

I was in the city one weekend(coming from out of state), looking for a wash and blowout. Came along this gem, on Division St. I quickly read the reviews and realized Tony was the go-to guy for a good blowout and so I walked in and requested him. He was with another client but greeted me and told me it would be a few minutes. Meanwhile I was taken back to the wash station where I received the best wash of my life. it was so thorough and I felt like 5 pounds of build-up was removed from my head. It was so relaxing, and lasted about 10 minutes between a *lather, rinse, repeat* and a conditioner. Their chairs at the wash station are also comfortable, your neck doesn’t feel like it’s about to snap just sitting there. After the wash, I only waited about 5 minutes until he finished up with another client. Once he was finished, it was my turn and he asked me if I wanted straight or wavy? I told him I want big wavy curls, and that i got! The outcome was FLAWLESS, my hair is thick and long, and dries very weirdly with a blow dryer and I try to explain that to most stylists(but they never understand it until they see it, but still cannot perfect a hairstyle on me with just a blowdryer alone). With him, I didn’t even warn him about it, my hair came out shining, bouncy, wavy and, way better than I could have ever imagined. From start to finish, the blowout itself, took about 30 minutes which is extremely FAST! Overall, I was there for about 45 minutes total and it flew by. Price is perfectly affordable. Tony is a master at what he does and everyone working that I came in contact with at the time, also seemed very pleasant. Next time I am in the area, I will definitely return for maybe even more services.
