I eat here almost everyday. It’s my favorite lunch spot near Columbia. The food is fresh and cheap and the guys who run it are nice. The three salad platter is a great deal(it’s no longer listed on the menu but they still will give it to you). That’s basically it.

The greatest strength of this deli is its seating! I always have classes in Knox across the street, so I often stop by for a coffee and/or bagel in the morning. It’s a great pit stop if you need somewhere to sit for 45 min or an hour. I haven’t tried much of their food other than a falafel wrap, which was good but not outstanding. Have yet to try the famous avocado salad, but I’m sure it won’t disappoint. Always a diverse crowd in this café, which I appreciate compared to other coffee shops closer to campus that are overrun with only students. Don’t think there’s any wi-fi.

Their baklava is top-notch. Not too filling, and satisfies my sweet tooth. A very cozy spot for either a chat or study.

I work in the area and often come here for lunch. Most options are Middle Eastern inspired, but they have a few more streamlined lunch choices like egg salad and tuna. The ingredients are very fresh and everything I have tried has been delicious. I would recommend the avocado salad. It comes in a pita and is full of flavor. I’ve also tried one of their platters, I believe it was the Greek platter, which was fantastic. Great portions but not heavy, so you don’t feel uncomfortably full afterwards. Something I also really love about Broadway Au Lait is the fact that it has a seating area with probably about seven small tables or so. It’s so hard to find deli-style spots that also offer seating!

Good middle Eastern lunch: a highlight of which was the avocado salad. Grape leaves were filling and yum yum yum. I had the platter which gives you a choice of 3. More than enough! Plenty of place to sit — so good for group work, or study. A cappuccino if you need it.

Found the Mediterranean platter to be excellent, fresh, good size portion. Friendly service at the counter where you place your order.

Unlike the experiences in some other reviews, I find that the cashiers are often unfriendly. Also the credit card minimum is pretty annoying, given that they are a coffee shop and have a lot of lower priced items. The food is okay, slightly over priced.

Cute coffee shop conveniently located near Columbia. Standard options good and drink options available at the expected price that comes with living in NYC. Staff are friendly and always greet with a smile, even in the wee hours of the morning. I also appreciate how it’s never packed here. On any given day, I’ll find a seat to enjoy my food and beverage.

The perfect place for a Mid East veggie fix. Standout tabbouleh, avocado, Greek, Israeli and other salads. Good soups, excellent coffee. Try the falafel platter or the three salads of your choice combo. Unlike most delis, there is a clean, quiet room with tables to sit in. Good value for money.

LOVE this place. Underrated, down to earth spot. The staff is friendly and they’ll favor regulars — def helps given the credit card limit of $ 8. The coffee varies but usually it’s delicious. Great bagels but the cream cheese is just average. They have chocolate covered Graham’s for just 50 cents! A great mid-day treat. They have a huge variety of packaged snacks and drinks as well — never seen that many kind bars in my life!

Pretty much everything you’re gonna get here is gonna be good. And fresh. I cannot stress this enough, hands down the freshest most wholesome ingredients you will find in a café. To top it off? The prices are legit and amazing. Finally, a place that not only allows me to enjoy being human but that also doesn’t punish me for doing so.

Fantastic coffee(much better than the other deli’s around) with a slight hazelnut flavor. The bagel and lox combo is great, the service is fast, and they always have a large stock of fresh fruit and Clif bars if you need an on-the-go snack, or kosher desserts of that’s more your style. TONS of seating. It took about six weeks for the guy at the counter to warm up to me, but now he’s quite nice and chats every morning when I come in!

I like the food options at Broadway Au Lait. I’ve yet to try their coffee, but their lunch specials are lip smackin’! I ordered a delicious Babaganoush, Falafel, Hummus, Tabbouleh. I wasn’t a huge fan of the Feta, which I usually love. BAL’s Feta wasn’t salty and it was just a little dryish. Odd. Very odd. Otherwise, the meal was great. The service is quick and seating is available. It was smidge too warm on a hot, but it was after all, a humid day!

Another good find. Thanks, Unilocalers! Walked in and was immediately grateful for the blasting A/C. There is also a dedicated seating area that seems pretty large by NYC standards. Ordered a small iced coffee and a bagel with sun-dried tomatoes and cream cheese, very reasonably priced. The bagel was perfection: warm and crispy on the outside, warm and fluffy on the inside. The iced coffee also lived up to the Unilocal hype(though a small was more than enough for me!).

This place has quick service(for coffee), as it never seems to be busy. They have lots of seating in the adjacent room. I prefer Kuro Kama down the street for quality coffee, but I can see this place as a good study spot.

Their lattes and Colombian coffee keep me sane in the morning. I usually order a large latte and a toasted sesame seed bagel with Lox and Cream Cheese with onion and tomato. My taste buds are always happy! The lox is super fresh. Service is great and the prices are reasonable. I love that this place is literally one block away from my job. Easily Morningside Heights’ best kept secret!

Usually come here for some coffee and snacks. The service is great, the coffee is perfect, a good variety of snacks, and a whole separate room for patrons dining in. I haven’t tried any of their lunch items yet, but I soon will and I’m pretty confident that they won’t disappoint.

My favorite place of all time. I come here several times a week because of the great people who work here and delicious food. You have to get the avocado salad. It’s one of the best salads I’ve ever had. They also make terrific cappuccinos. Norman owns the place. He’s so nice and friendly. Marilyn works at the counter and she’s fantastic at what she does and knows so much about everything. Jonathan also works at the counter and he’s just a funny, laid-back, cool guy. I love this place. I love Marilyn, Jonathan, Norman and just everythign about this place. I will miss it when I move away from NYC.

The iced coffee here is amazing. I shouldn’t even be saying this because it’s one of my Upper West Side secrets. So don’t tell anyone else! But get the large. You’ll be glad you did. They also have great baklava and an assortments of breads(I love the banana bread!). Great place for vegetarian fare and breakfast stuff.
