I like this place. Good ambiance, good food(medium plates) and good service. I think it’s a good spot for dinner and drinks before beginning the night’s adventures.

Cute hip spot nestled in Flatiron… Brought my mom here the other night for a cocktail and some nibbles in the city. The bar was full but not crowded and the restaurant itself had few tables seated. Our server Sean was warm and sociable. We started with the Beats Baileys and Kim’s Cleanse, both were great but we chose two Beats baileys for our second round(not a fan of mint). To eat we had the blistered peppers, Alligator(it’s really Alligator!) and the servers recommendation on the Octopus Tacos. Everything was great but we both agreed the tacos stole the show overall great experience, totally will be back!

I’ve now come to Bo’s twice. Both times were really enjoyable. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The drinks are fantastic. I personally like the Jewels Pecules and the Kimi’s Cleanse. I really love the ambiance as well. It’s romantic and trendy. I will definitely come here again. I find the drink prices to be a little on the expensive side but I don’t mind splurging on a nice bar sometimes.

Drinks were delicious and creative. Food was… Meh. The fried chicken was barely seasoned and came out luke warm. I’ll definitely come back for the drinks and give the bar snacks a try but probably not for dinner.

Very good cocktails and tasty bar food. The staff is pleasant and the room is comfortable. A good option for a drink and meal before a show at the Gramercy Theater or somewhere else nearby.

Bo’s is positioned near flatiron on a less-trafficked street making it slightly difficult to find. The restaurant is beautiful but do to its location and the fact that the environment is a large open space — it feels empty when there is less than a crowd. I have never seen the place filled either. My experience was not great as the food was delayed and cold when we received it. Go early for the fried alligator because it’s fun. Then you can go home.

My brother and I stopped by here the other night because it was close to our hotel. The place was fairly busy with people enjoying each other’s company. We found a spot where we had the lovely company of an amazing server. My brother and his family are from New York, with my niece undergoing therapy for Leukemia, this night out was just what he needed to try and brighten his spirit. The server Sean made great drink recommendations and even with the crowd made sure we were taken care of us. I’ve never been to this restaurant, but have frequented the area multiple times when in town. It definitely has been added to the list of my favorites. They have an incredible Scotch selection, although few Irish Whiskeys, it’s worth the visit. I will definitely be coming back here.

Sat at the bar, quiet on Monday afternoon. Bar area is nice enough; restaurant seating in back looked pretty. Might be worth a try on a date? I did not notice any background music. I had a sazerac cocktail which was well made. Bartender on shift was professional, friendly. I will go back — I see that they have beignets :) I need to go back sometime soon.

This cute place is sadly over-hyped. To get real, the problem is rooted in the kitchen. Very slow meal service and poor quality food. Arrival was pleasant, seated upon entering and quickly served fantastic cocktails. Server took our dinner order and then we sat with our empty cocktails and no food for 60 minutes. We then received a barely-warm(meat) appetizer and continued to sit with our empty cups for a second hour. Our chicken etrees arrived. Cold and lacking in flavor. I’ve made better chicken in a crockpot. The best part of Bo’s is the cocktails. The second best part of Bo’s is the ambience. The most important part of Bo’s, the kitchen, is the worst part.

Quite a gem — came here after work with coworkers and friends for dinner and it was very fun. The food is not cheap by any means but tasty and the atmosphere is fun. I think this would also be a fun spot for drinks because the bar looked cool and pretty poppin even on a weeknight. Overall, would come back again — was a really fun time!

It’s a small spot just around the corner from the Flatiron building and Madison Square Park. Some nice touches on the unique décor. Great cocktails, good for happy hour or an early drink. The southern food is quite good. I recommend for small groups and younger patrons wanting to have a very sociable meal.

I was super excited to try Bo’s out, but I think my expectations were just too high. This restaurant has a great potential, but right now it is just lackluster. The service was fine. The ambiance was fine(though I’d recommend dimmer lighting for dinner on a Friday at 9:45PM). The cocktails were fine. The lemon buttermilk braised fried chicken entrée was fine. See where I’m going here… Biggest Con: the appetizer beignet were SO disappointing! Nothing like I’ve ever tasted before. If I ever ended up back at Bo’s again I would MAYBE try to dessert beignet, but I would def stay away from the appetizer. Biggest Pro: The cajun pork chop parm was absolutely delicious(4.5÷5), and is the only reason I am giving this place a 3. Our bill was over $ 100, and I was left feeling hungry and so disappointed by the food, which is the worst feeling in the world. I don’t plan on coming back. Advice: Hate to say it, but believe the negative Unilocal reviews for Bo’s.

Decent spot for small bites and drinks, would consider coming back. I stopped by with a friend on a weekday evening with a reservation at 6:30PM, and it wasn’t too crowded at the time, but it filled up over the course of the next several hours. We split the crispy alligator, the octopus tacos, and the pork belly, the former of which was interesting and fairly well prepared, not too dry or overly breaded, while the latter was very tender and had nice flavor as well. I found the octopus tacos a bit bland but not bad as well. The drinks I had were also decent and fairly reasonably sized/priced. It’s a nice spot for smaller groups, and probably a place I’d consider coming back to for the same situation or for a full meal.

Flatiron is not my preferred place to hang out, so this restaurant is a welcome addition to the area. There’s a huge lack of good Cajun/Creole places in NYC. While I can’t attest to the authenticity of the food, it’s definitely tasty and a cool place for dinner/a date/catching up with friends. The place is big and has a cool setup where the tables are kind of sectioned away from each other. Also has very cool lighting and décor. We ordered the following dishes: Crispy alligator, Tomato Andouille Gumbo, Sea Scallops, and Cajun Pork Chop. The alligator came breaded and fried crispy, like popcorn chicken, and tasted pretty similar to that, with a chewier texture. The pieces went well with the aioli. The gumbo was tasty, but it felt almost too tomatoey and almost saucy. Not my favorite kind of gumbo. The sea scallops were delicious, seared perfectly with the mushrooms. The portion was small, but that was fine with me since I wasn’t extremely hungry. Also tried a bit of the pork chop, which was huge and covered in cheese and gravy. It was good, but a little too rich and heavy for my taste. Overall though, I felt like the food was pretty good. The service was very good, although it took a while for our entrees to arrive. Also, I don’t recommend getting the cocktails here. We each ordered different ones and neither of us really liked them. Overall though, it’s a nice place in the area, and I’d consider going back and trying different dishes.

I highly recommend this place for a low lit dinner with live music and great food. The bread that they give to start is enough to want to come back here. We asked the server what his favorite items on the menu were and we went with all his recommendations. We ordered Crispy Alligator, Housemade Cavatelli, and Mac & Cheese to split between 2 people. This was a perfect amount and all of it was great. The Alligator tasted like chicken with a chewier texture and the Housemade Cavatelli had great flavor. The Mac & Cheese was also really good. The service was great, very attentive. Cozy atmosphere with soft live background music. Very clean and cute bar in the front.

Overpriced food with average service and subpar cocktails. –The Lady Thyme cocktail was overly sour($ 13). The ice they use for the cocktails is also laughable. –The beignets($ 8 for two one inch squares) were sad looking and just dense, tiny biscuits sitting on carmelized onions. –The pork belly($ 17 for three small slices) was probably the best dish, but that’s not really saying much. –The skirt steak($ 29) was chewy and the root veggie sides were overly roasted. –The scallop entrée($ 29) came with three scallops. They were cooked well, but nothing special. –The mac and cheese side($ 12) was chalky and bland. The server was ok, not warm or friendly though. It came out to about $ 130 for two, and definitely not worth it.

I know Restaurant Week has quite come and gone, so I’m catching up now. This was one of those places that I find from just walking by and save for later. I was immediately attracted to its almost Parisian café interior and welcoming open store front. When I looked into it later, I knew I had to see that signature wall piece for myself. When I finally did get here, the place has the kind of character to make you remember it, to make it feel familiar, like this is anything but your first visit. I went for lunch and had made a reservation, although the place was next to empty. I grabbed a seat at the bar, admiring the vintage mini liquor bottles on the top shelf and bright, open dining room that contrasts the dark, cozy feel of the bar. The staff was great and friendly, always with a smile and accommodating. I happened to make the acquaintance of the GM, who was warm and welcoming, which always translates well to the rest of the establishment. The food is a bit creole and a bit American. I started with a grilled romaine salad, which is something I’ve done too to try and coax flavor into something that’s really not more than water and fiber. It was a perfect summer take on the standard caesar salad. For my main, a blackened tuna po boy, which ended up being too much for me to finish along with their fries. Dessert was a sad, baked-elsewhere cookie, which they also packed up to go for me. The advantage of cookies, of course. Imminently transportable. Nothing I had here knocked my socks off. But I’m still longing to return. Sitting at that counter, coupled with a nearly empty bar, made me feel like my lunch was coming from a dear friend instead of a stranger I never saw. It’s not quite as basic as comfort food, not as greasy as usual pub fare, but too fancy to send you running. I’ll be back.

Great experience here on a Saturday night, in terms of the food and the service(our waiter was awesome!!!). It’s a bit loud with the live band/music, but it’s ok if you’re not sitting right next to them. The food was good, but insanely rich /buttery. The free bread was drenched in butter, as were the appetizers. Among those, we really liked the pork belly. The okra was ok(super buttery), and the crispy alligator tasted pretty much like regular popcorn chicken. For entrees, we all got different things. I actually LOVED mine — the pink snapper. Lots of veggies, expertly grilled fish with crispy skin, not overly greasy. Friends who had the salmon, fried chicken, and the pork chops(be prepared for a TON of meat) all said the food was good but not mind-blowing. The highlight of the meal was definitely dessert. We ordered one of each — everything was delicious. Personally, I liked the beignets and hazelnut profiteroles the best.

Bo’s would probably score four stars based on the food alone(decent, if not mindblowing), but the awesome ambience, live music and service earns it a fifth. Having recently returned from an awesome(somewhat hazy) trip to new Orleans, it was a very pleasant surprise to see that Bo’s had ported over some of my favorite aspects of the Nola experience: live music, cajun flavors and strong drinks, while at the same time, adding some new York finesse — a classy vibe, and some more subtle(plus healthy) options. The cocktails were all well received, while from the appetizer course, the étouffée was the standout for me(with the fluke being probably the worst thing we ordered). Entrees of steak, scallops and pink snapper were all very good, as was the side of Brussel sprouts(though the latter was a bit overpriced at $ 10 for a small portion). Our stomachs didn’t allow for ordering of a dessert course, but the beignets have been recommended to me(though having just paid $ 3 at Café du monde, I fear I would be underwhelmed). In short, go, and go on a live music Saturday.
