Man, some people be taking their Unilocal reviews of food a leeetle too seriously *cough cough carol y*. It’s food, not a march on Washington. Anyway, thoughtless food. Messy, sloppy and not much love. Something your roomate would whip up Skip it.

We went to this food truck on 47th street on Wednesday and got to say I was slightly underwhelmed. In my humble opinion, the pork was way too fatty. I know fat is devious(and probably cheaper) but I was expecting some better quality pork for the price. The sides on the plate were pretty good(was a little surprised by the beans) and I would give them another try if they stepped up their pork game.

Found this truck today on 46th and 6th where all the foodtrucks line up. The menu was a bit small with only about 4 main dishes. They said the menu changes weekly. I tried the Bibimbap Burrito with BBQ pork for $ 8 and it was big and delicious. The meat was tender and perfectly seasoned and I loved the different flavors from the sauces and ingredients. The rice inside was very similar to sushi rice and they even had a sheet of nori inside. It almost tasted like a giant korean hand roll. Really good stuff for $ 8.

I’m a big fan of Korean food and these guys have done great things to fuse the rich savory flavors and spices with western styles(burrito) and breakfast options. The pork is superb and the fresh veggies and dressings they pair it with is simply mouth watering. I could eat this everyday.

I ordered from Bob & Jo for the first time today. I admit to being a sucker for food trucks as well as the word fusion, because it screams«something different» to me. I walked down the block on 46th Street past three or four carts until I came across Bob&Jo’s Korean Fusion Truck. There were quite a few people gathered around the window, so I scooted my way through to read the menu on the side of the line to see if they had anything interesting. They offered ramen, some sandwiches, dumplings, a few platters and a few bi-mi-bap options. While the picture of ramen looked good, I was not in the mood for soup. I finally decided on the Bi-mi-bap bowl and while waiting to order, I saw someone’s order being prepared and ask the provincial question, «What was THAT you just made?» The answer was Bulgogi. Bulgogi? Done! Although it didn’t quite look like the picture on the side of the truck, it looked very good. While they prepared my food, I watched two guys’ Ramen soup dishes being prepared and their dishes looked so good, I thought about trying to see if I could cancel my order to order that instead. I decided to leave my order as is because my golden rule of greed is never piss off the people preparing your food. I have to say that I am very happy I did! When I got back to my office I opened the styrofoam container and was happy to see a mountain of beef over rice(so much that I couldn’t even see the rice) an orange colored sauce, zigzagged over the meat and what looked to be two small sections filled with lettuce and green peppers on one side, and lettuce and jalapeño’s on the other. Since it reminded me of street meat, I just mixed everything together as I normally do and voila, delicious food of different textures to enjoy. They gave me a ton of food and I demolished it like the savage I’m known to be. It was savory with a hint of sweetness, but juicy and perfectly prepared. The only thing missing was some heat to get my excited, but that that wasn’t anything my bottle of Sriracha couldn’t handle. Gotta say that I loved every single bite. The Food Gods love me as usual, because I had an amazing meal while it seems that some people who have tried this food cart did not have the same experience. I’m definitely going to eat there again

I’ll I was thrown off when I ordered a bulgogi rice bowl and I received what was pictured. Of course it looked pretty but I was confused by the ground beef. And I was surprised by the portion size. But to be honest what creeped me out the most is that the guy taking my order had rice in a bag in the sink… I have seen significantly worse. But still for being a food truck that can’t be healthy at all. For one there no running water because the 2 sinks they do have are occupied by rice and salad. That just turned me off to the nth degree. But hey I still ate the food. The guy taking the order mixed different orders up twice while standing there which was another point deducted off. Now for the food. The bulgogi was very different. It didn’t taste like traditional bulgogi. The sauce used was a sweet chili sauce on top. So I was actually angry at first but I thought about it and it went well with the sesame oil seasoned veggie on the side. Very good compliment. The salad was amazing and they gave me a pot sticker as well. I enjoyed the food very much but hygiene is something I really look for and if you can’t wash your hands it makes me concerned about the cleanliness of my food as well…

LOVE this truck! As I browsed the menu, I was offered a full cup of steaming hot delicious soup. Though the sun was out, it was still a chilly day and this was a welcome warm treat. The soup was brothy with substantial amount of fresh corn, large slices of mushrooms, and rice. After enjoying that, I was excited to see what else these gents had cooking. I got to the truck around 2pm when they were wrapping up, so many items were sold out and when I ordered chicken and rice platter he asked if it was okay to add half portion of chicken(all that remained) and half portion of beef. In fact, that sounded even better! I wanted to try both. Bob & Jo’s «special sauce» was drizzled on top. It’s a creamy sriracha with some smokiness, and I believe a hint of curry? Whatever it was, I’d buy it in a bottle if they sold it! Full review with pics here:

They came to Brooklyn and didn’t disappoint. I had the bulgogi rice burger. This is Korean fusion and it’s their interpretation. The burger was a tasty juicy surprise, in a great way. Looking forward to try everything else on their menu!

I’m really surprised by all of the negative reviews here. I find this cart to be pretty amazing. Long grain rice versus sticky blah blah blah. It’s rice and this is Korean fusion so I don’t think that using long grain rice is such a life altering crime. I absolutely love their chicken. It’s not as spicy as they advertise IMO but for people who cannot handle heat, yes, they would consider it very spicy. The beef is also really good if you like the sweeter taste of bulgogi meat which isn’t my thing. The salad does indeed come with a lot of vinegar dressing but the dressing doesn’t leak onto the other food so it doesn’t bother me. The ramen is above average but not amazing. I wouldn’t consider it their specialty. The portions are pretty darn big and if I am not extremely hungry, I can make it last for two lunches… so that can justify the high price. I was going to dock a star for the price, but after seeing so many harsh reviews, I changed my mind. These guys are extremely nice, they offer samples and really put care in each dish they serve even if there is a line. I appreciate good people who take pride in what they do, even if their baguettes are a little chewy!

Bob & Jo parks in front of 7 Hanover Square on Tuesdays and it attracts a decent crowd. It seems as if the kalbi options sell out before everything else, and unfortunately for me, that was the case today, despite the inclement weather. Keep in mind that they describe their food as Korean fusion, because that is what it is. Don’t expect it to look or taste like Korean food, because it does not(and that isn’t necessarily a bad thing, unless that’s what you were hoping for, but you can’t judge it for authenticity). The bulgogi looks like minced beef, or rather, finely shredded beef that has a sweetness reminiscent of bulgogi. The overarching themes of the sauce, however, lean heavily on pepper and other spices. The platter is served with long grain rice, which is a contrast to the usual short grained stickier cousin. Nevertheless, it is a solid meal with a good portion of meat to rice. In addition to the rice and meat, the platter also comes with two sides — a pickled dish and salad. Both are not very good. The salad was swimming in a vinegar dressing. Think salads that come with sushi and the small pool of water at the bottom of the Styrofoam bowl. Proportionally, the amount of liquid in my salad would have filled about a quarter of that bowl. I was honestly confused about the pickled vegetables. I could tell that there was celery and sliced jalapenos, but I could not discern was the majority of the vegetables was — was it daikon? Onion? I ate it anyway. The acidity complemented the sweetness of the meat well, but then again, I’m a sucker for sweet and sour foods. Will I be back? Possibly, to diversify my lunch options. But it doesn’t stand out among its lunch competition.

Hit up their food truck near my office a couple weeks ago, knowing relatively nothing about them. Perhaps the reason I had never heard of them was an omen, but I went for it anyway. I decided to try their spicy chicken sandwich, which is denoted on the menu as «very» spicy. Not sure what alt-universe that sandwich qualifies as very spicy in, but as someone with a moderate/strong tolerance for heat, I barely detected any. Moreover, I sadly found the sandwich lacking in flavor generally, somewhat lazily thrown together. I believe it was supposed to have kimchi and other various veggies, but all I really remember were the long strips of plain cucumber that ran the length of the sandwich and the dry, bland chicken. The gentlemen running the truck were friendly, but for me, Bob & Jo was a big miss.

Bob & Jo makes Korean sandwiches and platters. Its not a cheap food truck — think $ 8-$ 14 per meal. For the area, that’s pretty standard, but it may shock the newbies. They are downtown on Hanover and Water Street on Tuesdays. The truck is big and easy to spot in front of the Apple Bank. I ordered the Galbi sandwich, but they were out and I opted for a bulgogi sandwich instead. You order and pay first with the guy standing outside the truck. Five minutes later, the guy in the truck calls your number and hands you the meal. It was $ 9 and you get a 9 inch sub sandwich. Its definitely bigger than the banh mi cart sandwiches across the street. The sandwich was good. I liked the bread, which was chewy, not crunchy(so they must have changed the bread from last summer). I had an okay amount of bulgogi in my sandwich and there was an herb spread that was tasty — it might have had olives in it. It also came with cabbage and lightly picked cucumbers. I asked for hot sauce on the side, which was a great addition. I was happy with my meal — I just wish I could get food for cheaper!

Ordered a bibimbap for lunch. Definitely Asian fusion. Got a huge takeout box of lettuce with regular bibimbap toppings and super small side of long grain rice? Not youre regular asian rice. Flavor was a bit lacking, not filling. Not my cup of tea, but I’d be willing to try some other menu items.

I came here on the recommendation of coworkers. This food truck is in our area on Tuesdays for lunch so eventually remembered and went looking for it on a Tuesday. To my surprise, there was also a decent amount of people ordering from here as well. They have a rather large menu but I went right for the soup. Their lunch special is ramen(any kind) plus dumplings for $ 10. I ended up ordering the lunch special with beef ramen. The ramen portion looked huge but it was a lot of veggies. The beef is odd. It looked like it was pulled apart and boiled? Overall, it tasted all right. I liked that there was a boiled egg in it. Also the dumplings were good. I was only supposed to get 3 like it stated on the menu but I got 5! However, I didn’t realize they were fried. Not really sold on this, as there’s cheaper ramen just a few blocks away. It definitely hit my ramen and dumpling craving though.

I want to give this truck less than a star. Worst bibimbop EVER. The rice is not the right thick grains. They replaced it with a SIDE of thin cheap grains. Overfill of lettuce. What kind of vegetables did they throw into this? $ 9 for this!!! ATLEAST lower your prices, in substitution for the cheap ingredients you use. nothing about this was korean except maybe the guy who took my money. NEVERNEVERNEVERNEVER again

I take some of these reviews with a grain of salt, due to some feuding trucks(especially Asian ones) sending supporters on sites to bash competitors. Love the Galbi here, full of flavor. The rice is cooked well and has a slight herbal aroma to it. The new dumplings are done well, not doughy and properly filled. The ramen is hit or miss, sometimes the broth is way salty, but they do fill it with enough toppings. I miss the Jap che, wish they would bring it back, but the BBB works in a pinch. One of the better food trucks out there, just pay attention to who is reviewing here.

I ordered while they were hanging out downtown for the lunch rush. There wasn’t a line at all but I figured it was because of the cold snap. The ramen didn’t interest me so I got the bibimbowl. I ended with a premade salad in a box-seriously, plunked down while they were waiting for the rice to be scooped out. A bowl of jasmine rice. Jasmine rice? I know it’s supposed to be fusion but what the hell? I don’t know how it fit, besides the fact that they were maybe out of white sticky rice and figured no one would really know the difference? I finally sat down and it was as disappointing as I thought it would be, just a ton of blah, flavorless iceberg lettuce with the sprouts, carrots and other veggies just spread out haphazardly. I got a small tub of gochujang, but apparently there were other options that weren’t explained to me. I don’t know if the other sauces would be an improvement though. The small tub of kimchi was also just bland and flavorless, not the spicy, traditional kind or the unspiced, refreshing kind it was just cabbage diced with some vinegar thrown into it. Not just forgettable but regrettable.

I was excited when I stumbled upon this new food truck. I ordered both the Galbi Baguette and Galbi Platter. I ordered, paid and waited a few minutes to get my order. While I waited for my food, there was a small tv screen playing Psy’s Gangnam Style. My jaw is tired from chewing only ½ of the galbi baguette. Stale. It was like chewing gum for hours. Furthermore the galbi(short rib) is not up to par with any restauran: dry, chewy disappointment. As I looked at the platter I knew there was no where else to go but up. Same overcooked beef over basmati rice, with a little salad and a small serving of kimchi. This was better, since I did not have fight the baguette, but for $ 7 and $ 9 respectively, I could go to a halal cart and get better value and taste. I love Korean food and I love food trucks, but Bob & Jo is a Korean food truck gone wrong. I understand the need to differentiate. If you want to be «fusion», the food has to be good. IFHTP1

What is this… I don’t even– My jaw went for a complete workout from eating this galbi baguette. The bread was extremely stale and the meat chewy. All 32 of my shiny ivory babies were put to the test. I felt like a rat gnawing through cardboard to get to the goods. The flavors were there. The baguette was packaged nicely in a box along with shrimp fries(The shrimp flavored chips you find in Asian grocery stores). There was NO kimchi included– which was a huge disappointment. I think $ 7 is way too much for what you get. The line was long, with one guy taking orders and like 2 – 3 guys in the truck cooking. Overall never again.

Good, not great. Service is friendly and quick(waited maybe a minute for our food). Some reviews mention small portions, but I found the rice platters actually contain a lot of food. The galbi rice platter came with around 7 pieces of meat. The meat itself wasn’t bad, but a couple pieces were very chewy. The meat was also a little dry because they cook the meat ahead of time and it sits in a warmer. Also, the salad isn’t the leafy green one shown on the website, rather diced iceberg with sesame ginger dressing.
