My favorite café! They have amazing coffee, I always get the cold brew. Try their tomato mozzarella sandwich too if you’re hungry. The space is open and filled with light because of all of the windows. It’s a great atmosphere to work in since they have wifi. Highly recommend

I absolutely loved my Green Tea Latte! I am a tea-fanatic and their Tavalon teas are top-notch. (1) There are plenty of windows and you get to see the Hudson. (2) Friendly and knowledgeable staff (3) Airy space with great ventilation. OMG. I have been in too many coffee shops, and this is especially true in Starbucks, where it is stuffy. Definitely doesn’t get too crowded, but has a steady pace of stop-and-go customers. HIGHLYRECOMMENDIFYOUAREPASSINGBYTHENEIGHBORHOOD! Awesome selection of juices, tea and coffee drinks. They also have amazing muffins. Small spot but one of the only small café/coffee shops here in this area next to the highway. One star off for the fact that there’s hardly ever a lot of people in there so no socializing in order. That could be a plus to you if you just want to get in/out.

Stop the presses. This place sells Underwest Donuts, which are the best donuts in NYC. This place is close to where I live, and it has a variety of coffee-based drink options and snacks. The owner, David, is super nice and helpful as well.

This place WAS good once upon a time, not any longer. First off, food choice is extremely limited and mediocre in taste(I think my shoe sole might possibly be more appetizing). Majority of the staff are rude and clearly unhappy(except for 1 employee) because they can’t manage to smile. The mattress on the bench against the window needs a serious clean, if not, a total replacement. There are scuff marks and stains all over the furniture. Food items need to be tidied away and counters cleaned. The venue also lacks a toilet, so don’t bring your kids here unless you know they don’t need the loo! Disappointing place. The coffee blend they use is average.

I visited this Café on the understanding that there were some gluten free options. Staff explained there were no such options. I made orders, paid, and then later was told that some items were never available in the first place. Though I promptly made a substitution, I was disappointed that staff did not seem knowledgeable of their menu. I ordered chicken salad sandwiches, but they were pre-prepared, and the bread was soggy. In short, I ate here because I was hungry and was out of options. There is no bathroom available here either. In fairness, I was greeted well, and staff seemed familiar with regulars as they stepped up.

I frequently go to Blu and it is a fairly nice place to grab a coffee and muffin and go to the water to get some sun. But today was a bit disturbing. I asked for a medium coffee and was shown 2 sizes. A medium and a very tall. So I picked the medium. But the coffee came in a very small cup. Nothing like the dude behind the counter showed me. Not that big a deal. But when I mentioned it to him, he walked away unconcerned and dismissive. Not a great way to treat a customer. So from now on I will take a walk to Jubilee or Pier I for my coffee. And will mention it to my friends and clients who frequent the place. Maybe they should show a bit more attention when a question is asked.

Living on Riverside Blvd has it’s perks. Steps away from Riverside Park and the Pier. River views and Blu Café. David, the owner, is nice, personable and remembers my drink order. He is quick to say a good morning or a hello as soon as you walk through the door. Don’t get me wrong, paying $ 5 bucks for a large coffee adds up but when you are greeted like this it makes reaching into your pocket not so bad. They have just about everything you would want for breakfast. Yogurt, oatmeal, croissants, bagels, egg sandwiches, smoothies and juices. For lunch they have sandwiches, quiche and soups of the day. Wifi is free and the best time for bringing your laptop and bustin’ out a few emails is the early morning as this place is a haven for mothers and nannies in the afternoon. The cacophony of screaming, crying children can not only wake the dead but damage ear drums.

Great little café. Opens early. Free wifi. One of few coffee spots in that area. Friendly, helpful staff.

This place gets a 5 out of 5 just for its mere existence. If you live around blu café, then you can truly appreciate this… since the closest coffee shop is at least a 15 minute walk. And sometimes, its nice to have an option other than a busy, crowded Starbucks. I love studying at blu café. Free wifi. Good selection of hot and cold drinks, juices, muffins, cookies, and sandwiches. I have never had to wait for a table. Large windows allow for nice views of the river… or just people watching. The staff is friendly and fun. The music is awesome — good mix of pop and top 40. This is a great place to do work or meet up with a friend.

I live in the apartment building above this café, and I sometimes drop-in. Prices are pretty high, even compared to the inflated prices of coffee in the city. That said, I’m never disappointed, and they have a good selection of healthy options for food and snacks. There’s also free wi-fi, and I see people in here with laptops all the time, but it’s never hard to find a place to sit.

I’m giving three stars because the coffee was not bad, considering they don’t roast or grind on site and they use what seems to be a packaged, probably mass-produced brand. I don’t remember the name of it but the staff member showed me something in a gold package. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I am comparing this place to other non-roasting places as I don’t think it’s fair to compare it to a place that has superior beans that were freshly roasted. I can definitely say I was surprised at the taste. Sure, the flavor could have been a bit more complex but for your average coffee-goer this is fine.

What a wonderful little spot. I live nearby, and I come in when I can. The freshly made juices are especially good, as are the sandwiches and pastries.(I’m not a coffee drinker, so I can’t evaluate the coffees — but others have told me that they are good.) David is always friendly and helpful. I think of Blu like a little hidden gem of the neighborhood.

Cool spot around the corner from my office. It’s connected to a realty space. The cashier was super friendly, especially when I told her that I work nearby, she gave me 15% off my $ 3 muffin [a discount is a discount?] It’s great to have another food option besides the regular old supermarket. I’m dying to try one of their fancy drinks and maybe a sandwich one day [save it for a fat day] They have your standard coffee beverages as well as the refrigerated stuff. I’ll give this place another shot, maybe for coffee in a hurry and a condo over looking the Hudson.

Whenever I’m in NYC I stay with my friend who lives a couple of blocks away. Can’t believe its taken me this long to discover this place. It has a modern clean look and lots of light. The service was good and my muffin was delicious. Next time I’m in town I’m going to bring my laptop, enjoy some lunch and stay awhile longer. Sure its off the beaten path but I think that’s exactly why its the perfect location. Will definitely be back.

Went into this afternoon around 3:30 to grab a quick cup for the first time. I saw the order here sign and stood there by myself waiting The behind the counter person was on the phone with his back turned to me — when he finally hung up and turned around he did not in any way acknowledge me but walked to the end of the counter and worked on another order. After a bit another worker came in from out side and also didn’t take my order but just stood there cleaning things… This place moves too slow and has poor service for me. I am not coming back

Modern little, no frills café… Came here to get a quick bite to eat and use the wifi. Sandwiches are pre-made/wrapped, but it was surprisingly good, had the BLT. The menu is pretty limited, was looking for something a bit healthier, but didn’t prefer my other options. All and all was thankful I found this place, since there wasn’t many other alternatives in the area and I was quite hungry.

The concept seemed a little weird to me when I first heard, a café in a realty office? Seemed like an excuse for a hard-sell for a luxury apt I can’t afford. When I went, though, the office and the café are pretty clearly separated and my worries were alleviated! The coffee selection is pretty standard(I don’t drink coffee, but it smelled good) and the teas are amazing! I’ve ordered from them online and the quality is just as good and they have even more items in the shop. HIGHLYRECOMMEND: the genius iced tea. The pastry selection is pretty good as well — warning, though: if you are going there on the weekend(the 2nd time I went was on a Sat afternoon) get there early or they’ll be sold out of pastries!
