Great burgers! I went to the one on 7th and will definitely be going back!

It’s midtown, so yes general speaking most places are going to not be good. With that said this is still a decent place to go in comparison to the area(hence the three stars). If I would compare this to other places in the NYC/Brooklyn area it would be lower: Pros — Good in comparison to other Midtown options — Decent beer selection(nothing to write home about) — Burger was tasty but not still pretty tough Cons — Buns are not toasted — I ordered the burger that comes with an egg on top, the egg on top was overly raw,(usually I really like eggs on burgers) but this was too bad. I asked for a second one that over easy to try to remedy the situation. However if you look at the pics both eggs were completely inedible! The bottom was cooked so hot/hard that it might as well be toast. Complete amateur hour. — Burgers were cooked to the right color, but were still tough and not that much taste. — Fries were very lack luster, felt McDonalds style If you’re going to have burger in the name of your business and it consume 75% of your menu, then do it right.

I ordered the Hashbrown burger and fries with cajun seasoning and I would have to say it was pretty fantastic! Well seasoned burger and the flavors go really well! ordered medium rare and that’s exactly what I got! Finally, another joint in this city that actually knows how to cook meat and has assured me that a God does exist! Born and raised in the Midwest… it’s hard to find a spot that cooks meat correctly in my opinion. I apparently missed the first few words that tell you it’s a double patty burger which is pretty awesome as well! If I have a heart attack though, I may have to downgrade the place to 4 stars. Ohh and the delivery time is quick even during lunch time

I think they think they’re really great. Reminds me of Umami in LA. It’s really just a very fancy Johnny Rockets in that the food is fancier but the experience is still very«We’re trying to move people through here!» Tasty but I’m certain there’s better to be had.

Easily, one of, if not the best burger I’ve ever had. The Black Iron burger was fantastic. Cooked perfectly and the toppings were outstanding. The onion rings were just as good. Fantastic service and pricing. Will absolutely return.

We went before a Knicks game. The service wasn’t good. Also must of had a problem with the ordering or just kitchen has problems. I ordered aioli fries and double burger with cheese and bacon. My son ordered double burger with jalepeno and cheese and onion rings. Here’s the problem the burgers came out right away almost too fast but the sides didn’t come until we finished the burgers. Aioli fries had the sauce on the side and no bacon bits or scallions. Consistency is important. I saw pictures on Unilocal of the fries. Mine looked like an afterthought. I even had to ask for the aioli. Service needs to be stepped up. The food tasted good, but I didn’t want sides as dessert.

They make decent burgers. My personal favorite is the wasabi burger. Their fries are also pretty good, and they have a nice beer selection. The service is okay, but it can be slow at times. Also, the last time I was there, they placed us by the door. Unfortunately, this meant constantly getting a blast of cold air from the outside. It was worse when people were holding the doors waiting for friends, or holding the door while one member of their party was talking to the hostess. I know that’s not really the fault of the restaurant, but many places put up a tent/alcove over the front, providing at least some protection from the outside elements.

I got the Black Iron Burger and onion rings, my boyfriend got the Masterpiece and onion rings and they were amazing. These were the best burgers we’ve ever had. The onion rings are to die for, along with the dipping sauce. I wish I had ordered the fries instead just to get a taste of both. The service had a bit to be desired – it took forever to get our drinks – but the waitress was friendly. The restaurant was clean and had some damn good music – they played Chet Baker! If you’re in NYC, DONOT miss this place. This is damn good eating. Mmmmm. We’ll be back, damn you.

I’ve never wanted to get married and have babies with a Burger, but I do now. I had The Black Iron Burger and I’m still thinking about it weeks later. Cooked to perfection. Moist, Delicious. The onion rings were also divine.

I came here after a show. The title said black iron burger, so I figured it would be an all American burger from New York. But no, it’s not. It’s more of a mini burger for those of petite eating. When I think of a burger, I expect a nice big burger with all the fixings. The cool unique thing about the burger was it was topped with an egg. The service was good but I wasn’t satisfied with the size of my burger.

When I saw the sign on the storefront stating«Zagat Rated Best Burger», I was compelled to try this place out. I was definitely impressed with the service, the food and the presentation! Black Iron Burger exceeded my expectations, and then some. It’s a nice place to meet for lunch. The menu was diverse and had many options. I’ll definitely be back.

I’ll admit it, I’m a sucker for a nice looking restaurant. One of my definitions of «nice» is a store front and interior that looks like it came out of the early part of the 20th century. Black Iron Burger takes the imagery of its name and evokes a sense of old New York with its storefront which features moldings and lighting that brings you back to another time. Inside it’s a bit more modern, but only slightly. The interior is mostly wood furniture with tables to the right and tall tables against the left side. In the back is a good sized bar. If it weren’t for the newness of the furniture and the very scifi looking jukebox it’d be easy to think this was a business from another era — and I mean that as a compliment. When I first entered I was concerned. I was meeting two friends and the restaurant was packed. The host wasn’t sure he could get us a table, but after disappearing into the back for a bit, we wound up at one of the high tables along the left wall. It was perfect. The seats have a curved back so you can hang a bag on the side and there was plenty of room for the three of us. The service was a bit rocky at first. Our waiter disappeared for quite some time, but I think it was partly because we were *very* into our conversation, so they let us chat with our wine and beers. Once we did order oh man, I went on to have the best turkey burger I’ve ever eaten. I ordered the«classic» turkey burger, which has cajun spices on the patty. The rest you add on from the menu. I put avocado, caramelized onions and lettuce. The burger was bursting with flavor and moist. The bun was warm and had an amazing chew to it. This wasn’t a monster sized burger, but it didn’t need to be. It was just the right size. As my side I had the cole slaw which had a surprising kick to it. It’s easily one of my favorite cole slaws ever! I think it’s a hallmark of a good restaurant when you leave and part of your brain is already thinking about your next visit. Black Iron Burger is one such restaurant. Check it out.

Came here after the gym since we were craving burgers. My boyfriend and I originally ordered the masterpiece and the hashbrown burgers to share, but after biting into the masterpiece, I didn’t want to let it go! The sunny side egg compliments the saltiness of the bacon so well. In fact, I took a bite out of my boyfriend’s hashbrown burger and it didn’t compare in taste; ultimately, I ended up eating the masterpiece by myself. Do yourself a favor and order the masterpiece and the ai-oili fries! They put just the right amount of ai-oili sauce on the fries that the fries weren’t swimming in sauce, making it much more pleasant to eat. Also, they bring the fries out before the burgers, making it that much easier to focus and indulge in the masterpiece itself.

I’m so happy that the place across the street was jam-packed with people because we would have never discovered Black Iron Burger. For the price, you are definitely getting your money’s worth. I’m usually not a fan of «build your own» burgers” but the quality at Black Iron is what changed my mind. The patty was just the right size for my taste(I’m sure my BF would have wanted it to be slightly larger) but the meat was so juicy and well seasoned. The bun was fluffy and light and my toppings came on the side as requested. Love that you can also choose the sauces on the side — their aioli was bomb! And how can any meal with a side of crispy, crunchy, garlic fries be a bad one! A fair amount of table and bar seating in this location, so although you shouldn’t bring the entire gang, you can still enjoy yourself with a decent sized party. I will definitely be back for some delicious meat and fries soon!

Walked into this burger joint on a Friday night around 7pm. We were seated very quickly while we looked over our menu. I dig the fact that the menu is so condensed. We started off with these Yuca Chips with guacamole which were suppose to be our starter but came with our main meals. My significant other got the hash brown burger. I just got a classic burger with avocado, lettuce and tomato. I got a little annoyed because before it got full the waitress forgot to bring me a soda twice. So, I asked another person to get this for me. Needless to say we got charged for 3 sodas when I only had two. CHECK your bill before you go. I really didn’t like the service but again it isn’t the waitress fault. I do find myself maybe going there again but highly doubtful. :BATHROOMALERT: Omg disgusting. I never seen such a dirty bathroom. Seriously and they are unisex so there was pee on the floor. Womens bathrooms are gross enough but sharing one with men… yuck. There was papers on the floor, dirt everywhere and the soap wasn’t filled. Bring your hand sanitizer ladies. Overall they get 3 stars because their food is good. But to be honest I’ve had better burgers in the passed. But please if you go try the yucca fries. Make sure you don’t let them take your ketchup. For some reason the bus boy took it off everyone’s table I’m not sure what this was about. It would have been nice if he asked if we were still using it before he did so. Apparently using ketchup after 8pm is forbidden at this spot.

This cute little burger joint has really friendly waiters who give great recommendations and are super accommodating. I came here to have dinner with 3 other friends who were super super late and the waitress let me sit at the table on a Friday night for 30 – 45 mins before my friends came strolling in. For such a small place, that was really sweet because the place was packed. She knew it was cold outside and so she gave me a big table even though there were other people who came later on throughout the evening. As for the food, the burgers are a bit smaller than most places, but it’s still very satisfying. Make sure you get a plate of fries to share because the burgers don’t come with any and who in the world enjoys a burger without fries. That’s just idiotic. I got the salmon burger and it was great! You’d think that I made the healthy choice but it definitely didn’t taste like it. The burger was so legitimate even though it was SALMON. What other place can do that? The waitress also recommended me a beer and it was SO good. I loved it. I’ve never heard of it before but it was light and paired perfectly with my burger.

We came on a Saturday afternoon so it was pretty empty in there(my boyfriend and I were the only table at one point), but that was totally fine with me. I let the food speak for itself, and I was totally satisfied. I got the Wasabi Burger, which was absolutely delicious and very affordable. I also got avocados as an extra topping which made the burger even more delicious. While the garlic fries were more meh for me, I thought the loaded fries with bacon was really, really good. I also wanted to note that I went to one of the other Black Iron locations in LES and had a horrible experience there, which really dampened my overall opinion of the brand. Although I will never return to that location ever again, I might consider coming back here. There is definitely a consistency issue, however, that should be addressed.

Came in on a Friday at around 6:30 with my boyfriend, and the place was pretty packed. Luckily, we were able to nab one of the last tables. Happy hour is from 4 – 7, where they have $ 5 pints and $ 6 wines(they serve beer and wine only) but even without happy hour, a pitcher is $ 19 so it comes out to about the same. To start, we had the buffalo wings, which comes with 6 wings. I liked that the buffalo sauce was on the side. A lot of other places put too much sauce but here, you can put however much you want. Since the burgers don’t come with fries, we decided to try the Aioli fries —(scallion, bacon, aioli sauce). The sauce was great and the fries were fried perfectly. I would say that the only thing missing here is cheese. That would have made it amazing. For my entrée, I went with the Black Iron BLT(Applewood smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, breaded fried chicken, avocado, scallion, aioli sauce). This was not that great because there was barely any chicken in there. It was so thin that I couldn’t even really taste it. But I guess that’s my own fault for ordering a chicken sammie at a burger place. My boyfriend ordered The Masterpiece(double 4 oz patty, Swiss cheese, stout caramelized grilled onions, fried egg, Applewood smoked bacon). This was good but nothing amazing. It tasted like any other burger. Nothing we ate tasted like a ‘must have’ but I definitely would not mind coming back for some more of those aioli fries.

I just came here for lunch and it was packed. Service, thus, was a little slow but I can understand that. I got the masterpiece burger with herb garlic fries. The burger was great, but the fries did not taste garlicky at all. When you dub something as «garlic ___», I expect it to be INYOFACE garlicky. And it was not. Also, slightly expensive. The meal cost me a little under $ 20. At a lower price point, I’d probably return more often.

There are few things more tiring than walking around convention centers, looking at nerds nerding out over nerdy things… needless to say, after 9+ hours of Comic Con-ing this year, some serious noshes were in order. It was a Saturday night, and myself and my two much much nerdier friends broke banks(relative to our expectations) the previous night nourishing ourselves after a similar endeavor at the Con the day before. General consensus was to eat and eat well, but on a more generous tab. Upon a faithful Unilocal search by this particular writer, we ultimately decided on this joint. As I say, «it’s pretty difficult to f**k up a burger.» Plus, at first blush the menu items are extremely reasonable: $ 5-$ 7 for a huge serving of fries and $ 10 – 14 on a burger. Not bad at all I would say. The food was good, mind wasn’t blown, but I wasn’t really expecting it to be. I built my own burger, an option that I appreciate very much. I opted for double beef patties w/bacon, caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and topped off with BBQ sauce… pretty solid stuff I must say. The burger was gone in a flash, due to a combination of a painful amount of hunger along with the size of the hamburger being a wee bit on the small side. Tasty bites, don’t get me wrong, but not enough of them(or at least not as much as I would have wanted). On the other hand, I did get two sides for myself: Cajun fries and onion rings. The onion rings weren’t big and hearty; they were thinly cut. I love shoestring cut fries(and other shoestring thin crunchy things…) however, it didn’t work in the case of these particular onion rings. They just weren’t very crunchy; it may have been an anemic batter, or it could have been that the oil temperature wasn’t hot enough… regardless of the reason, these onion rings were just limp and greasy(I still ate all of them though). The Cajun fries, however, were spot on. There was plenty of them, they were well seasoned, they were super thin, and they were crispy. Well done on that front; and they came at a bargain price tag(no more than $ 5… though there are schools of thought that expressly abhor the prospect of having to buy burgers and fries as separate menu items… but that’s a discussion for another time). For the most part food was solid, but the service had a few hiccups. My friends had to ask for their drinks more than once, with lengthy interludes between their requests and the actual delivery of said drinks. Also, my one friend asked for a smaller sample glass and was given a pint instead… while I was of the mindset that he should just grow a pair and drink the drink, the fact that we was strong-armed into paying for something he did not specifically ask for was a bit bothersome. In the end, this joint is a solid option in this part of town, which seems depleted of quality eateries. A few tweaks here and there, and we may have to add another star upon the next trip here. Until then…
