Very, very good. Excellent. Great for a first date or just to have dinner with your significant other. Excellent food and presentation of food. Lot’s of dinner wines to choose from. No complaints at all. A little pricy but you get what you pay for. The lamb chops are out of this world. I like to have the Dolce Bianco wine with my dinner. Very friendly staff. The place is small and cozy. The flan is awesome also. You will not regret it. Just don’t sit too close to the door so that you won’t have people traffic by your table. Very quiet atmosphere which is good for conversation. No hookah which is a good thing.

This place is small. Good selection of wine, nothing fancy. The food is served on large plates. Waiter was on point with whatever we needed. She gave us the check before we finished eating which is kind of rude but I’m guessing it’s due to the limited space they have.

I can’t stop coming here it’s so fresh and good. I also have several friends now eating here more than myself. I had the chicken avocado panini for a change from my usual chicken CHIMI which I can’t get enough of with the Yucca fries. I think the size of it doesn’t bother me anymore you just have to wait but that is like most places This is a must try if your in the area.

I love this place. Sometimes food can come out a little on the cold side but for some reason it’s always great. Coffee is great as well. Ambience can vary depending on which day you go. It’s mostly an easy-speaking restaurant but sometimes it’s just a little bit loud. It’s tiny but oh so cozy, cute and romantic especially on rainy, mid-week. The best part is the owner! He’s very humble and will do anything to make your experience an excellent one. Everything on the menu is pretty much on point.

If your looking for an intimate great place to eat and unwind this is the place for you. Great, healthy food in combination with a great selection of wines, and not to mention the best latte in town. I recommend the gourmet chicken chimi with yuca fries and the Cesar salad with shrimp… Although everything I’ve had here has been pleasinpalate. The staff is great. Alex who I call«The Govenor», is chef and owner who is very attentive and makes you feel at home!

Their service is always extraordinary, I’ve been going here for over 3 years and they just get better and better. Its a very small place with an amazing home style feeling but still elegant in its own way. NOW their food is to die for, amazing fresh taste on everything they make. My favorite thing to order would be the chimi gourmet with yuka fries(BESTYUKAFRIES) and for dessert their homemade bread pudding with IceCream on top or their delicious DELICIOUS flan. I mean their menu is perfect for every time to choose something differently and know that they will always amaze you.

Dropped in for a quick Sunday lunch after a stroll in Fort Tyron Park. The food was great. We had Catfish Tacos, Chicken Sate, and Beef Chimi. All were amazing. Well seasoned. Portion is gigantic! These people do stretch the definition of tapas(ie small plate) to and beyond its limit! We tried to figure out what kind of cuisine they were but definitely with an Caribbean Dominican influence. What caught our attention the most was yucca fries. Chewy soft and tasty alternative to potato fries! Wines are reasonable, with a good selection from the Old World esp Italy, even for by glass. One dent to the experience is we had to wait quite a long time for the food. But that frustration was put to rest because the food tasted so good! Love this place. Will come back whenever we happen to be in this neighbourhood!

This is a small sandwich, salad, and wine restaurant in Inwood. The food was extremely good but the place itself was just okay. To drink, I tried a mocha to drink that was served in one of those large saucer cups with a fancy foamed mill design and chocolate syrup drizzled on top. Very impressive. To eat, I had the grilled chicken panini with pesto. It was served with a side salad which was a nice plus. The sandwich itself was excellent and I loved the crispy bread soaked in the pesto oil. We had the yuca fries as a side and these were incredible. I have had yuca fries before and haven’t liked them but these were incredible. You absolutely can’t leave here without getting the yuca fries. In fact, I recommend coming here just for those. 4 stars because the tables are too close together, too close to the door, and there’s only one door instead of the double doors so it’s freezing in the winter whenever someone opens the door. They should have space heaters but the place is so small that I don’t know where they’d put them! They should just eliminate some of the tables so it isn’t as crowded and make a sign in front asking patrons to not keep the door open when it’s cold. There was also a weird person there with this huge basket thing that kept falling and getting in the way when people went in and out. The person who owned it was completely oblivious but the people who worked there saw this situation and did nothing about it. They could have put the basket thing somewhere else or told her that she needed to leave. She was there on her computer for hours when people were waiting for tables! The service is also quite slow. It took 30 minutes for a mocha, not exaggerating. However, overall, this place is very cute and I’d recommend it if you’re in the area.

My friend and I went to this place for dinner. Be mindful that the restaurant is really tiny and not ideal for groups or for kids. Its more of a quiet dinner with a friend or two kind of place. For appetizers we got the catfish tacos, comes with two taco and they were really good. For the entrée we got the crab cakes, it also comes with a salad. You get two big crab cakes, very good too. The waitress was very attentive and nice, we stayed stayed until we were done with our wine and we weren’t rushed to leave. Overall, I enjoyed my service and my meal. I will be returning soon!

The place is cute but very small. Came here for lunch and we were seated right away. I had the Gourmet Chimi with yuca fries which was delicious. I will be coming back for this amazing dish. I love that this neighborhood has a café like this, it seems as if every other restaurant has a very different vibe. Place looks clean but two things bothered me. The water that was brought to our table was disgusting. I had to ask for lemon wedges and it still didn’t help. Maybe a filter would help. I was very thirsty and decided to order lemonade but they said they were out, I then asked for ginger ale and they were also out. I mean if your water is not drinkable please be able to accommodate to my needs. That is all I ask. Thanks Beans and Vines

So I just moved in the neighborhood and I just started working near by and was hungry after work have been eyeing this place for awhile and I’m so happy I finally came it was amazing. The guy at the front desk was so helpful and helped me make a great choice. The Yuca fries and Chimi was delicious hands down best meal I’ve had since I’ve moved here!

Came here on a Wednesday around 6ish for dinner. Ambiance: Place is super tiny, therefore not ideal for groups. Service: Waiter was attentive. It sucks that their wine list was not updated and pretty much every wine I wanted they are no longer carrying. Also, some of the wine by the glass were a bit pricey. Food: My friend and I shared the crab cake as an appetizer and it was heaven. The portions are excellent and the salad that comes with it was quite yummy. We also shared the yuca fries which were quite yummy and more than enough to share with someone else. I had the grilled tostada with chicken instead of shrimp and it was so tasty and fresh. Besides updating their wine list and having a bigger space, I would say this place is great. The quality of the food will not disappoint.

The place is extremely small so you may want to ask for the tables by the wall. I was asked to get up while I was eating to let people pass to get to their table. The waitress is very accommodating and polite. The service is great and the ambience is relaxing. It’s a cool place to go to with a girlfriend and have some wine or coffee.

Walked in and was expecting the place to be bigger but it was a nice dim atmosphere. Walked in and sat down at a table for 2. Me and my friend placed our orders which was crab cakes, broiled salmon, and she got the grilled chicken and avocado dish. We waited a good 20 minutes for the crab cakes to come out which I felt like was a little to long. The staff was very attentive though. When I finished my plate they came in right away and scooped it up and made room for the next. Overall good food, good service and the only complaint is the timing of the food but will definitely be coming back.

First impression was that this place doesn’t look too impressive from the outside but looks can always be deceiving. Our server, Candy, was super friendly/hospitable/hard working. She made dining there all the more enjoyable. Food is tasty and portions are huge! Ordered the olive app for 7 $ and that could have been a meal in and of itself. Also got the pasta butera and this can easily, I mean easily, feed two people. I felt disgusting(in a good way) after eating it. If you’re in the area then go.

My girlfriend really likes this place a lot and today I finally got a chance to try it out. Gotta say I try understand why should frequent the venue. Aesthetics: simple, casual, mixed with homely, and sprinkled with a bit of romanticism. Very easy going and comfortable. Quite tiny but decorated to feel intimate from the splashes of random wine corks thrown around in cases and glass barrels. Two top tables u think about nine of them altogether. No bar. But they have a beer bottle selection and quite a few bit of wines. Very good choices of coffee and teas although I didn’t have any. Service: attentive enough to not feel ignored but not over barring in an in-your-space attitude. Unfortunately I can’t seem to get passed why I need to request a glass of water instead of it being offered to me. But I can get passed that. Food: I tried the lamb chops and mashed potatoes with skins in it. Very tasty. Absolutely would recommend it. I’m a huge fan of lamb anything. And they did a phenomenal job. I was impressed with how it was seasoned. Unfortunately, I did ask for medium rare and it was more on the medium/medium well side. But once again I can get passed it. I truly did enjoy it regardless. Another strange thing is my served who took my order did not deliver my food nor did she clean it up. Although she did ask how it tasted. Also not sure if these is a regular occurrence but I paid up at the front near the register instead of with the waitress. Thumbs up!

Service is such an important part of any dining experience. I was extremely let down by what could’ve been a great time at Beans and Vines. I’ve had this place bookmarked for so long and finally checked it out last Friday night. Let me first mention that the Gourmet Chimi my boyfriend and I ordered was absolutely scrumptious. I might go back for it soon. That being said I can’t give this place anything more than 3 stars. We arrived at 8:15pm last Friday night. We walk in and check the place out. It’s pretty small, I would say around 7 – 8 small tables. We place our order within a few minutes. It took over 30 minutes for us to get our food. During this time span, the waiter never came over to inform us what the delay was. It took forever to try to get anyone’s attention. When our food finally arrives at 8:45pm, again waiter never came around to ask if everything was ok or refill our waters. When we are done eating it took another 10 – 15 minutes to get anyone’s attention for the check. The whole experience was aggravating and the tip was definitely affected. I think we tipped under 13%. Tips are earned not just given in my book. The place is tiny and was not that busy. What was supposed to be a quick meal went over an hour due to slow service and lack of attention. They pay more attention to customers picking up than ones who are dining at the establishment. Disappointing experience. P. S. After reading other reviews I realize all the negative reviews are mostly due to slow service. It’s obvious something has to change!

Adorable café with tasty sandwiches. I know Unilocal labeled it as a burgers place, but it doesn’t have that vibe. it’s more emphasis on the sandwiches I believe. I was surprised to find this in this area. Came after spending some time at the cloisters, so it was a pleasant day! The waitress was super attentive and helpful. We gave her such a big tip because she deserved it. perhaps even more than we gave! Shout out to her! It got really busy around lunch time and she still kept her cool. The place is tiny, so be aware that you will be a bit cramped. We sat right in front of the door, so you could barely let the door open. They had interesting sandwich options. We ordered the Gourmet Chimi: Your choice of ground sirloin or chicken breast, topped with tomato slices, shredded cabbage, onions, chipotle sauce, mayo, mustard, and ketchup. Served with your choice of seasoned fried potatoes, Yuca Fries, or salad for $ 10 and the Moroccan Chicken Chicken breast, curry, raisins, mayo, Roma tomatoes, and baby greens on whole wheat bread for $ 9. I actually liked the Gourmet Chimi more than the Moroccan Chicken. I think there is a part in me that doesn’t like the temperature of cold curry on bread. Curry needs to be HOT to be tasty! Next time I will keep that in mind, so I don’t order curry on sandwiches again. The Gourmet Chimi had a real punch of flavor, but I would suggest it with chicken rather than sirloin. The YUCCA fries everyone is talking about tastes like those fried dimsum taro dumplings … I think if you are familiar with dimsum, you all know what I’m talking about. Once I realized it tasted like those, I had to stop eating so many of them. They’re good if you’re having a few. I got kinda sick of the flavor after a while… not saying you shouldn’t try it, but I still prefer the good old regular potato fries.

Food: 4.5 Stars Service: 5 Stars I cannot believe that such a gem exists! My girlfriend and I were heading to see the Cloisters in the Bronx and needed a place to grab brunch. Thankfully, I found this place on Unilocal and it did not disappoint! She started with a Chai Latte which came out very nicely. I ordered the Gourmet Chimi which is an interesting sandwich with thin flatbread buns and typical patty and condiments. I ordered it with a side of yucca fries which were AMAZING. If you go here, you must try them. I’ve never had anything like them and they have this chewy texture underneath the crisp outer layer that just melts in your mouth. My girlfriend had the grilled portobello and goat cheese sandwich which came with a salad. The portions were huge! And, the sandwich tasted amazing with a blend of cheesy goodness and depth with the mushroom. Service wasn’t anything like that you get at a fine dining restaurant, but it was attentive and helpful. As we were the only people dining at the particular hour, the server was very attentive, keeping us updated with the status of our food in the kitchen and helped with suggestions of what to order. Highly recommended if you’re in the area!
