BDry Blow Bar

Was in NYC for Memorial Day weekend & my friend & I decided we would rather have someone else wash our hair. Thanks to Unilocal!& the proximity of BDry to our hotel, we booked appointments here. The entire experience was amazing! Both my friend & I loved our stylists & honestly for the first time I was happy with a blow out. They were very quick, yet very detailed. It was the perfect start to an even better night!

Got my hair done by Mitchell and makeup by Brittany for my friend’s wedding. Loved the smokey eye look and got plenty of complements on how my hair held up for the whole night. Will definitely come back again!

There was definitely no champagne pouring when I went for my blow out. In fact there wasn’t even a receptionist so I had to wait for a stylist to finish before being checked in. It was super hot inside and uncomfortable. Seemed a little unorganized.
The blowout itself was okay. I felt like I wasn’t being listened to and the stylist did as they would prefer. The final product was nice– just not exactly what I had in mind or wanted.
The search for a nice affordable blowout continues.

I had an absolutely amazing experience here from the moment I walked in the door to the moment I jumped in the cab they hailed for me. As a mother of 2 year of twins, when I have time for a beauty appointment, I want it to be spectacular and efficient. BDry did not disappoint. I had hair and makeup done in 1hr and 45min for a family photoshoot and I felt ready for runway. Extra points for making me LOL the whole time! I can’t wait to come back.
Appointment process: super easy, pretty much wide open. In fact, I was annoying and cancelled and rescheduled twice all within 1 week of my event.
Salon: clean, modern, well lit, plenty of space for personal items. Clean spacious bathroom.
Hair: showed Rene a photo and he immediately understood. Flew around my head like a hummingbird and whipped my stick straight Asian hair into shape. He managed to find volume and waves in my lifeless hair, and had me laughing the whole time.
Makeup: showed Brittany a picture and she explained in detail what was necessary. She knew how to work with the Asian eye, which is hard to find in a makeup artist. She also made me forget I was in a salon because she’s so easy to talk to, like I was at my friend’s house.

After my review posted, the manager reached out to me and apologized and offered a refund. I appreciated that she made the effort, and she said she would speak with her staff to improve the experience in the future. She actually remembered me from when I came in, which was nice, and if I’m in the area, I’ll give them another chance. Her recommendation was that the next time I want an appointment, I should call in advance and ask for a recommendation for a good stylist. That seems like good advice to keep in mind.

I needed a blow dry bar down in the financial district, and my search led me here as this was the closest option!
I’m really glad that we ended up at BDry, because me and a few friends had fantastic blow outs! Between a 20% off offer for first timers, champagne that was poured into my glass as soon as it ran low, and super friendly staff my experience here was a great one from top to bottom.
And of course, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the fact that they blow out hair pretty damn well too. I went with straight and my friends went with wavy, and we were all super satisfied with the end result. Sometimes at a larger chain like Dry Bar or Dream Dry you feel super rushed and they don’t do as thorough of a job. At Dry Bar they squeeze in so many seats that you don’t always get seated in front of a mirror, which I think is crazy. Here, there was none of that. Each stylist took their time, and there was plenty of space and seating.
I’m not in the area often, but would certainly not hesitate to come back for a blowout!

They did a great job on my hair and make up for a business photo shoot. Exactly what I asked for. Will definitely return!

I went to Dana for makeup and a blowout before my engagement photos and I loved her so much she’s also going to do my wedding. I haven’t had the best luck with getting my makeup in the past – no one ever heeds my instructions to go light on the eye makeup and I always end up looking like an Asian dragon lady. Dana made me look fresh faced and glowy and all the adjectives brides want for their wedding day. My hair was soft, flowy and held incredibly well, no small feat for anyone dealing with my stick straight locks.
She was also a blast to work with and checked in throughout the whole process to make sure I liked what was going on with my face. Can’t wait to work with her again!

Great quality blowout and really friendly front desk service. I made an appointment same day and took advantage of the 50% off for new clients with no issues.

I honestly don’t know how this place has almost 5 stars. I’ve only been here once and it was my first and last time. My hair stylist seemed to be having a pretty rough morning and barely greeted me. I actually didn’t even know if she was my stylist because she came out from around the corner arms crossed and dressed like it was 10 degrees outside. I don’t expect you to dress up for work but come on… at least do your hair, you’re a HAIR STYLIST. She didn’t once take her huge scarf or oversized cardigan off and had a bit of an attitude, I’m sure she was upset about something personal going on and I get it, but when you’re working with clients try having a more positive energy.
Now I have very curly hair and a simple blow dryer just won’t do the trick. I need you to use a flat iron or curling iron, it’s just going to frizz up otherwise. I asked her if she wouldn’t mind curling it because I was scared about the frizz and she of course did not want to, I think she wanted to get it over with so she could go in the back and sleep. She told me something along the lines of «…this is how I do my hair and it stays» yes welll that’s amazing for you, but how does that help me? Of course in less that 5 hours my hair was frizzed up and I wasted my money.
I personally will never be going back,

Good hairstylists. They are very welcoming and can usually always squeeze in an appointment on the whim. They’re very accommodating in that way. There are free drinks while you wait as well including champagne. The hairstyles always look good too and the prices are very competitive. I thoroughly enjoy visiting here.

Came here with my mom before my brother’s wedding to get our hair and make-​up did.
They were speedy, efficient, FUN (shout out to Paris!) and made our hair and make-​up look GREAT. Paris did a great job listening to what I thought I wanted and then talked me out of getting something too boring. The end result was fabulous.
I also got my make-​up done and explained the color and style of my dress. My make-​up was done amazingly well and the best part was that my lashes lasted all night through many hours of drinking, dancing and karaōke-​ing.

For someone with very thick, long and very curly hair, finding a salon that knows how to do a long-​lasting, excellent blowout was one of those things I hoped to find someday… Without a doubt, that search is over. BDry is as amazing as it gets! I work close by and had an event the next day, so I was looking for a good hair salon nearby. Dry Bar is close by also, but through my own personal experience, and reviews of others, I decided against going there and giving this new place a shot. BEST decision ever!
I walked in on a Friday afternoon with no appointment and Katarina, the general manager, said they were a little busy so she would do my hair herself. Seriously, I wish I could find the words to explain how beautiful my hair looked. She knew exactly what she was doing and her technique is what you hope every stylist knows when doing your hair… which I noticed she was constantly teaching and giving the other girls tips. it just makes you so much more confident coming back to a salon where the girls are constantly learning.
After completing each section, Kat pinned up my thick hair, so that it would last longer. It sounds so simple, but no one else has done this for me and it’s part of the reason I instantly bought a package of 10 blowouts. The other reasons include the fact that I love the way they wash out my hair, the salon is super clean and all the girls that work here are so friendly! I was also told my package can also go towards getting my makeup done. I believe I’m pretty good at doing my own makeup so I’ve never tried it, but I’ve seen great work so maybe I’ll give it a shot. They also always offer you drinks/​champagne, even that one time they were so accommodating when I overslept my 8:30 AM appointment and ran in 2 hours late!
Now whenever I have a major event, I always stop by here to get a blowout and I get compliments– every single time. I’m so happy that I took a chance and walked into this salon and met Kat and I can’t imagine going anywhere else to style my hair! Thanks for everything!

I made a last minute hair appointment at BDry Blow Dry Bar, so I could stop in after work… Before a date ;) My appointment was for 4:15pm and when I got there I was immediately seen (not something that normally happens at a salon).
Tek-​Nik was my stylist and she was AMAZING! I have a lot of hair, so it normally takes a lot of time. She was able to get it done in record time, but didn’t rush it at all. The products She used to wash and blow out my hair smelled soooo good, and she let me know everything she was using. When she finished, my thick curly hair was transformed into a silky smooth mane with lots of body!
I will definitely return to BDry… As long as Tek-​Nik is working there!

This salon is poorly run– from the way they poorly run their bookings to how they treat their customers.
I was stuck in traffic & called to inform them. When I was close they were incredibly rude & said they were sorry but wouldn’t be doing my hair, gave me their sob story, and hung up on me.
DO NOT GO HERE.

Amazing quality and customer service for the price! I was lucky to have Crystal as my stylist & make up artist. She blew out and curled my hair so beautifully and well that my hair has lasted 5 – 6 days! It doesn’t look gross, and has fallen gently /​naturally! And my smokey eye was surprising on me, I felt so fresh faced :)
The salon is modern, clean, and overall, so well priced ($ 40 for a blow out, $ 40 for full make up application!)
I would definitely come back here again, they’re so attentive and skilled!

Let’s just say I almost wanted to permanently straighten my hair (…almost) after Fiona was done straightening my tightly coiled natural hair.
Initially I walked into the salon admiring Fiona’s beautiful braids but after speaking with her I cancelled my appointment with a salon closer to home and booked an appointment with her. Thank goodness.
Fiona is the hair whisperer. As soon as I sat down we started to chat, it was like having your girlfriend do your hair. She was personable and knowledgable about her craft, as well as very gentle and caring when handling my hair. The salon uses great products (like the Moroccan Oil line) to help keep the hair healthy and protected from the heat. I felt at ease the whole time and was very happy with the end result. My hair looked beautiful and the compliments, even from strangers, kept coming.
Thanks Fiona! Now I can’t let anyone else blow dry my hair :) Book an appointment with her. She’s a gem! *She’s also a great makeup artist.

Josh the assistant manager was very welcoming upon me entering the the salon for the first time. He greeted me warmly and explain their wonderful service in the salon.
I first enter to inquire pricing information, and before I knew it I was dotted in a chair and sipping champagne.
What an awesome Monday. Not only did josh do an awesome job with my hair, but the atmosphere and the way I was treated by the staff will definitely have me coming back.
I’m so happy I work in the area, this place is open from 7am til 9pm.
