Cheap way to get a bite to eat in Chinatown to hold you down between meals. You gotta love meat on a stick. That is unless you’re a vegetarian.(Don’t worry I love my vegetarian friends too) Friendly chef sets up his stand to serve up skewers of lamb, chicken, beef and fish balls. All good choices if I may say so myself. Depends on your tastes and mood but at $ 1.25 for a stick — you can’t go wrong. I personally loved the mongolian lamb, peppered up with a dash of spiciness sprinkled on top. I’m sure this place goes through skewers pretty frequently during the day I’d say it passes the fresh test. ****4 stars — it’s cheap, it’s delicious and it’s real people food. Some of the best bites I can remember all came from street carts. Makes for the perfect in-between meals bite. Happy eating!

Great English! was the first thing I said to myself when talking to the chef here. We grabbed some skewers while waiting for my meal at Yee Eng next door. He uses real charcoal in his fire and has some skewers in the warmer and some corn in foil ready to accommodate an influx of customers at any given time. –Lamb skewer($ 1.25) — 4 small pcs, gamey aftertaste, yummy, well done here –Beef skewer($ 1.25) — 4 small pcs, tasted a lot of tendon in this, very good though –Mexican corn($ 2) — it was fresh and he husked it in front of me, yes, you can get corn for 50 cents/ea at the market, but I wanted to see what this was all about, when confronted, the chef said Mexican ‘style’, which I was told by my friend is incorrect since they used parmesan instead of white cheddar, also sprinkled on top was spicy powder and it was pastry brushed w/some melted butter and served in a foil, I was told Café Habana is THE place for Mexican corn! Must go! I stumbled across this via : Total came out to $ 2.25/pp after everything Pics:

This is a little nook. Very easy to pass by unless you like peeping around corners & shadows like I do. This place specializes in grilled skewers. Being such a small nook, their selection is minimal. The menu consists of skewered beef, chicken, lamb, and fish balls. Price is about 1.5 per skewer. And, the skewers were kind of small. You could spend $ 9 here and walk away still hungry. If you’re in the area, you should try them out though. It may not be filling, but it damn sure is very tasty. If you need help finding this place, google search: «map of Mosco St, NYC»
