Great experience. Food was excellent. The staff was professional and music was good. The cruise was upscale, relaxing and beautiful. Worth the price for sure and nit at all touristy. Don’t miss this whether you are a local or a visitor, you will enjoy it. Advice: worth it to pay extra for the window table!

I had a great time aboard the Bateaux, the staff was great. Although they ran out of bread as well as ingredients to prepare one of their specialty drinks. Other than that, it was a memorable experience. They don’t offer parking however, there is parking at Chelsea Piers for a reasonable rate and no upcharge for SUVs & valet as well.

Went on the Holiday Lights Dinner Cruise. The scenery was fabulous — boat takes you right past the Statue of Liberty which is pretty breathtaking. Fabulously attentive staff. Many«upgrades» available so you will likely pay much more than the advertised price of $ 150 per person. We purchased an upgrade premium open bar for $ 55 pp and definitely got our money’s worth. Cruise departs on time and at 3 hours it’s just the right length. Nice entertainment — 2 – 3 piece band with a vocalist and a very small dance floor. Special celebrations(anniversaries, birthdays) were announced. Photographer comes around and takes photos at your table — $ 60 package but worth it. You get hard copies of your photo plus a digital version emailed to you. We purchased an upgrade for a guaranteed window table(not really necessary given the entire boat is glass) but having a table just for 2, vs being seated at a large table with strangers was worth it. My only complaint was having to pay a $ 40 per person upgrade fee to order a steak. In total, this dinner cruise cost in excess of $ 500 — pricey for sure, however given we were celebrating a special occasion it was worth it. A very memorable and special evening.

Had an awesome birthday dinner here last night. I was nervous about getting motion sickness but there was none. Food was well plated although the main course can be served a little warmer. Service was ok. I see other service staff was much more attentive than ours. I had to ask for tea during dessert. The view was amazing. The live band was great too. I would go back just for the view.

Amazing, amazing, amazing! Dinner was the best, I recommend the ribs. The slow ride up and down the harbor is great. Slowly spun around the Statue of Liberty for 20 min. The most amazing view of her, great for pictures.

This was a great way to see the skyline! And a beautiful date night. They do give you plenty of time in between courses to go outside on the front or back deck but don’t immediately suggest it to you. Make sure to check it out!

I’ve never been on a dinner cruise so had done my research based on the the food reviews, and Bateaux was the best one out there. My boyfriend then booked the dinner cruise for my birthday, and it was the best celebration. The entire service crew and staff were extremely professional, remembered our drinks and orders, and attentive the entire night. The cruise started on time and we sailed around the lower tip of Manhattan. We ordered the seafood platter, duck pastrami, and seared tuna to start. Lots of food, but decent and could use a bit more salt. Definitely get the duck pastrami out of the apps. My boyfriend ordered the Moroccan chicken and I had the braised short rib for our entrees. Definitely order that! Chicken was moist and short rib was flavored nicely. Views around Manhattan were gorgeous, but highly recommend using an actual camera rather than the cellphone — it’s so hard to catch the details of the Statute of Liberty or other building views!

Great way to spend a couple of hours in New York City. I don’t normally like ‘touristy’ attractions, but the good food and excellent service made this excursion worth while. Be careful going outside the cabin, you’re liable to get wet from the spray of the waves. If you’re wearing something rather nice, like I was, it can be a bit annoying. Fortunately, it was a warm day, and I dried off quickly. Also, the ‘tour’ guide seemed like she was making stuff about about the points of interest, but that’s just part of the experience ;) They knew that that it was our anniversary and had a nice happy anniversary card which was… nice. Asides from getting wet, it was an excellent experience with good food and great service. Well worth it!

Went on this dinner cruise for my mom’s 60th birthday. It was really a nice experience, the food was great, and the live band was alot of fun. It’s a bit pricey though. Glad I did it once.

We had a cruise booked for a «60th birthday surprise» this August on the Bateaux. Due to a family medical emergency, we were sadly unable to go on the cruise. The Bateaux was beyond understanding to our situation. They gave us a «FULL-REFUND»(out of policy). The customer service and bending the rules for our emergency situation was «FIVESTAR.» When things settle down my family and I will definitely be booking again with the Bateaux. We are looking forward to it ! =)

Bateaux was better than I ever imagined. For starters they were able to accommodate us on an earlier cruise(out of policy), due to a sudden death in the family that precluded us staying in NYC an extra day. Customer service, and bending the rules for an unusual situation. A+ The boat is beautiful, with a fantastic dining room. Seating spacious enough for all. There didn’t seem to be a bad seat anywhere. There are so many windows, and the captain spends extra time at the key locations, spinning the boat so everyone can get a picture, and see the sights. The staff from the deck hands greeting you onboard, to the hostess whom was pleasant, accommodating, and asked all if there was a special occasion. Our waiter had perfect timing throughout the night, was helpful in pointing out menu items, and had a great attitude. Photographer was above average,(I normally dislike photos for purchase). He spent the time to get great shots, which with my mug can be a challenge. I even bought a photo, never happens… The live music was great, perfect selections in our opinion. Not too loud, with breaks at appropriate times. Food wise, I was satisfied. The appetizers we had, ahi tuna, and duck were alright. The ahi didn’t seem like the best quality, 5⁄10. The duck was good, but looked a lot like the tuna in presentation. I had the 40 $ up charge wagyu steak. Probably one of the best I’ve ever had. She had the short ribs which were good as well. Deserts were 5050, I had the s’mores pudding which was awesome, pass on the plain cheesecake. Would recommend to anyone, and would probably do it again to show off to friends.

It’s an elegant choice for your brunch weekend. I booked for Mother’s Day and our server Jessica was awesome. They are very consistent about their promise of excellent service. You would love the experience of dining with live music and the view of Manhattan. Great experience! IG: jangabane

Lived in New York all my life and I must say this might be the best thing I’ve ever done here. I came here to celebrate a birthday and it was the most romantic and beautiful thing ever. We left promptly at 7pm as they said we would and then the fun began. The views were to die for so make sure you have your camera ready! We didn’t have a window seat but the boat is made of glass so we still had great views. You can also stand outside. We passed underneath the Brooklyn, Manhattan and Williamsburg bridges and very close to the Statue of Liberty. The food was great, especially the desserts. They also had a live band so of course we got up to dance. Our waiter by the name of «Swan» also was very polite and helpful. I had an amazing night and would suggest this to everybody!!! PS– it’s pricey but worth it!

This was the perfect place to kick off my first trip to New York City. The ship is absolutely beautiful with glass panelling throughout the sides and roof and it made the views just that much more breathtaking. We were unfortunately running really late and after mapping it out we realized that we would arrive exactly the time the boat was set to pull away from the dock. EEK! So I called the number on our tickets and one of the ship’s head honchos was waiting for us at the ticket booth. Everyone was so so friendly and didn’t make us feel like the terrible people we felt like, which was really nice! When we boarded the boat, we were greeted by delightful piano music and a prime window seat. Yay! The boat is beautiful, the entertainment was wonderful and the service was impeccable. The cocktails were on-point and the food was surprisingly yummy. I was worried it would be more along the lines of a catered meal since they were preparing so many dishes at once, but the beef brisket and mashed potatoes were flavorful and had pretty generous proportions. ***TIP! If you check-in on Unilocal, you’ll receive one premium cocktail! Pretty awesome, especially considering they’re about $ 12 each. We were free to roam around and explore all the decks whenever we wanted, which was nice. The views were nothing short of spectacular, and with all the glass, you could see nearly 360 degree views the whole time, which was a wonderful way to take in all the iconic landmarks we cruised past. Since I had never seen the Statue of Liberty before, I really appreciated that the boat stopped in front of it for a pretty long period of time to ensure that everyone got the perfect photo. I should also note that while we were out on the decks, my BF’s plate had been cleared and he still had a few bites left he wanted to finish. When mentioning this to our waiter, he was given a completely new entrée! WOW! They really didn’t need to do that, but it was a super generous gesture that we appreciated. The on-board photographers were great and the photo packages were pretty reasonable. They came in great complimentary frames and were a wonderful souvenir of our experience. We will surely recommend this company to any of our friends who visit the area! Thanks Bateaux!

I booked this cruise for my date’s birthday. I had been on several Spirit Cruises in different cities and always enjoyed them, and had always wanted to try Bateaux. I like dining in upscale places, so thought this would be perfect for a special occasion. I was expecting the sophistication and elegance that comes with the price tag, so yes, my standards are higher than when dining out at the average joint. First of all, we were not greeted very enthusiastically when we entered the ship. I felt like we were just another number and the host seemed overwhelmed or annoyed. Also, we were asked 3 times if it was one of our birthdays(once by the ticket agent, once by the host, and once by the waiter). It was my date’s birthday which I specified on the reservation, so I feel that should have been known already instead of us being constantly asked. It was slightly embarrassing to him. When we got seated, we were completely ignored by our waiter for 25 minutes. Everyone else had bread and drinks at least, but there was no sign of our waiter. My date was about ready to get up and go get bread and water for us, as we were so hungry and everyone else was eating. Finally the waiter came around and took our drink order. Our drinks took another 20 minutes to arrive. By this time, other guests were already being served their appetizers. We had to wave down the waiter and remind him about the bread. When he did finally come back with the bread, we immediately put our order in, because who knew how long that would take. We got our food even though everyone else was already on dessert. The food did taste great, but we were still hungry. Definitely do not recommend coming here on an empty stomach. Wish there was an option where you could order extra food. The waiter was very inattentive during the entire experience. My date asked for something during his meal and never got it. I remember needing an extra utensil or napkin or whatever it was, but the waiter was taking so long to come to our table that my date had to get up and grab an extra one from another table. It was embarrassing and not something that I would expect on a «sophisticated cruise» like this one. At dessert, I asked for some extra crackers to go with the cheese platter, but never got it. At that point, I just didn’t care anymore. Of course, the check came very quickly, we paid with credit card, and the receipt came back to us all within minutes. During the evening the host began announcing all the birthdays, but my date’s was not announced. It’s a petty detail, but the host did promise us when we checked in that his birthday would be announced. My date’s sister had called in to Bateaux earlier in the day and bought us 2 free drink tickets. This was supposed to be a surprise for my date. I only knew because she reached out to me. When we arrived, we were just given our drink tickets. No explanation, no «surprise», nothing. Had she not called me, I would never have known who gave us the tickets. It’s a small detail, but I really would have expected Bateaux to at least inform us of this special little surprise. Our poor experience was not helped by the fact that the couple to our immediate left got the full VIP attention. Name placards on the table, multiple appetizers and entrees to try, multiple drinks, the manager checking on them every 5 minutes, and at least 3 waiters serving them. The lady complained about the chicken being too salty so the manager brought her the fish entrée within 10 seconds. Just leaves a bad impression when we had to wait over an hour for our meal. Finally, I would like to discuss parking. Expect to pay at least $ 30 for the parking garage. We got to the ship about 20 minutes before departure and there was no parking to be found anywhere. We had to ask a parking garage attendant what to do, and he let us basically park on the sidewalk. Bateaux should inform guests in advance that parking is limited, and what to do when there are no spots available. Or, even better, have a Bateaux member handle the parking so we don’t have to do talk with the garage attendants. Just not a good way to start our cruise. The way we ended the cruise was not that great either. We purchased 2 of the photos on board. We put our email address into the tablet so we could receive the digital photos. When we didn’t receive the photos the next day, we called up Bateaux. They gave us a contact number to call the photographer. They said if that number«didn’t work» try this second number, but only use it after trying the first number. Well, that was not reassuring at all. We called the first number multiple times and emailed the photographer. He was extremely slow in getting back to us and only communicated via email, never by phone. We never did get the uncompressed versions of the photos that we purchased. The décor and views were nice, and I like how the inside tables are situated so that you’re always facing the water. That’s about it.

Decided to splurge on a dinner cruise for my girlfriend’s 30th birthday last night. Upon boarding the boat I was rather impressed by the set-up and the boat itself. We were seated and our server came over within ten minutes. She explained how the courses were served, what was included in my package.(Guys, purchase the romance package it comes with nice red roses, champagne flutes and a bottle of champagne) we waited approx 20 minutes because while others had already eaten the first course, we still had not been served bread yet! The issue was rectified and we got our bread within five minutes.(It was rather bleh) First course, I selected the Spring Salad and my girlfriend opted for the Crab Cakes. Again, the salad was rather bleh and my girlfriend said she enjoyed her Crab Cakes. Second course, I selected the Cod and Mashed Potatoes and she opted for the Beef Brisket and Mashed Potatoes. The mashed potatoes were good, but the Cod was not to my liking at all. I had maybe four bites and couldn’t take it. I had some of my girlfriends Brisket, which was excellent and very tender! I would definitely recommend everyone go for the Brisket. Lastly, I selected the cheesecake and she the Chocolate cake. I guess they save the best for last because the desserts were excellent… Definitely would recommend. they both went well with our cappuccino. Overall, I had a decent time and since my girlfriend, the birthday girl had a great time I gave it four stars, but it’s more like three and a half because of the Cod and I felt my server could have been a little more attentive to us, as she was with other tables she was serving. They have a wonderful jazz band who also played contemporary top 40 songs and even gave all the birthday people a shoutout. I would do the Bateaux cruise again, but it would have to be a major event because all together I spent a little over $ 600.

Went on a classy little dinner cruise for my friends 25th birthday, doing the tourist thing even though we are local. Definitely a splurge to say the least, but we had the greatest time! Tickets included dinner, and we upgraded to the first-class package, which included a window seat, open bar, and two mini courses in between our other food. It was a beautiful evening and the food was delicious! We tipped our waitress ahead of time because we read the open bar was hard to get your money’s worth due to the wait staff being so busy, so she kept our drinks full! We had the best time! Definitely recommend for a very special occasion splurge, someone got engaged on our cruise!(They have a special package for that, if you’re interested… long stem roses included!)
