Such an adorable place to sit and enjoy the ambiance that IS soho. First things first, appetizers are not to be missed – this place has some great finds on the menu. The corn bruschetta was my favorite, perfect to split with 2 – 4 people, but you will want one all for yourself! Creamy, cheesy and corn-y, it was more appetizing than I gave it credit for. The crab dip was delicious and had me looking for more things to dip it with! Loved the tartare so much, I could have eaten it by the spoonful. I also had the shrimp tacos which are exactly how people are describing them here – bold and flavorful. Small place so make sure you have a reservation if you are coming with a group! Definitely a great place to dine in Soho!

Appetizer? Salmon tartare with plantain chips and tortilla chips. Fresh soft salmon tartare on a layer of homemade guac… hmmm. And sided with fresh plantain chips & tortilla chips(that isn’t greased up like no other)? YESPLEASE! One of the more popular main entrees? The shrimp tacos! And yes, that’s what my friend got. Grilled shrimp pieces mixed with chunks of avocado topped with flakes of fried tortillas shreds? Oh yes, please! And ask wrapped in a soft tortilla??? Oh my! You get a bam of a texture party going in your mouth! Soft yet crunchy. Sweet yet salty. Oh. My. God. Thank God my friend shared with me. I would’ve been missing out! I opted for the branzino. And I must say, the branzino was cooked so delicately. Every bite just broke apart in my mouth and it was complimented so well with the lemon vinaigrette, olive oil and dill seasoning. It was baked but not overbaked so by the time it reaches your table, the branzino is still soft and juicy. Delish!

I don’t frequent Barmarche often, but I’ve been here quite a few times within these two years of knowing about this place. I was first brought here on a date, and everything tasted great, because 1) my date was awesome. 2) their drinks were strong and I wasn’t too sure if it was the food I liked or not after a few cocktails. But, I decided to try the place again with a girlfriend of mine a few months later, and ordered the exact same things I ordered for myself the first time. Guess second time was the charm, because at least I was certain I DID like Barmarche for their food. After that, I’ve probably dined in at least close to 10 times(dinner only). My usuals — Salmon Tartare, Almond Stuffed Dates, the Grilled Branzino, Truffled Shrimp Risotto. Please do try.

This spot was just okay. Our party of five showed up for a really late brunch on Sunday(~3:00pm). We ordered away and food came out shortly after. The reason why this place is not 4 stars is because the waiter was dishonest. Two people at our table ordered the«fresh orange juice». Sorry, but if you claim that it’s fresh on your menu, it better be fresh. So when they got it, it was probably Tropicana. They asked if this really was«fresh» they guy gave some cop out excuse that they couldn’t get into their freezer downstairs. Umm… that still doesn’t explain why this wasn’t fresh? So then later he came back with another two glasses of orange juice and took away the first set. This time it was better, but as he explained, it was«fresh juice from yesterday.» Again, fresh means today or squeezed on the spot, not yesterday. He should have stopped us from ordering instead of making up some bullshit excuse. Now with the rest of the fare. Shrimp taco, fish taco, crabcake benedict x2 and the smoked salmon crostini with a side order of sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries were cut like steak fries, which isn’t my thing, but you can really taste the natural flavor of the sweet potato. That also means that it’s not the crispy thin fries that I like. The fish taco was okay, it looked really good. There was a large piece of fish on each taco, topped with cider vinegar slaw. Once I ate the coleslaw, the rest of the taco didn’t have much flavor. The crabcake benedict wasn’t bad, but I wasn’t blown away by it, since its normal brunch fare.

Barmarche breakfast/brunch! MUSTHAVES — Pancakes(choose from plain, Choc chip or blueberry — a very fulfilling dish, as is with pancakes in the morning or any time for that matter) — Almond Stuffed Dates are so good!(for the sweet & salty lovers) — Popcorn Shrimp(with chipotle aioli, you can’t just pop one!) To top it off, it’s a cute spot to boot! Love coming here without the crazy brunch lines in other parts of the city. And you can’t beat the sweet staff

Such an adorable wine bar tucked away in NoLiTa. I came here with a friend for dinner and we were lucky enough to be seated at a tiny table by the window. Our waiter was very warm and welcoming and also patient, as it took us about 20 minutes to even decide on a drink. We each had a glass of vino verdhe and soave(really liked the vino verdhe). My friend ordered bass tacos which looked delicious. I had the salmon which was fantastic: moist and perfectly cooked with an incredible kalamata olive and tomato sauce, which sounded a bit weird on the menu, but was really delicious. I wanted seconds as soon as I finished! The ambiance is really wonderful as well. It’s a small and intimate space, so I wouldn’t recommend coming here as a large group. It is the perfect place for a date though!

Loved it. Stopped in randomly for dinner with the b/f, it was perfect. Quieter than most, romantic, date night kind of vibe, we were seated by the window by a really nice guy who was our waiter. Hummus was brought to us on the house, it was amazing, the shrimp and crab dip appetizer was also great(it’s a tad spicy), our food was pretty good too. I loved my truffle shrimp risotto, he liked his shrimp tacos alot as well. The wine selection was good(I had an amazing white wine) and the cocktail list looked really creative, they had a maple old fashioned. The music they were playing was def my taste(soft indie hipster type of stuff) and the whole staff seemed really laid back and nice. It wasn’t to expensive, id say a little under average for that area, and it being a nice restaurant. We would def come back here!

Good place for a date. I’d recommend getting a reservation because this place gets pretty packed. The grilled corn bruschetta is phenomenal(but really, when is anything with grilled corn not phenomenal?). I got the pear & endive salad, which was OK, but what can you expect when ordering a salad at a place with so many delicious things on the menu?

Great time there tonight. Went with a big group and they accommodated us nicely. Hak was our server. Sorry if I spell the name wrong. Great service. Very pleasant hosts. The assistant kept our water filled and our plates cleared. Our server was very attentive but not intrusive. Only 3 reds by the glass so it was easy to decide. Tried one(they were nice enough to let me try… I love to try before I marry) and got another. Glad I tried. Reasonably priced 10 – 11 $/glass Wonderful menu. Many things I wanted to try. Had mussels and sautéed spinach in garlic and olive oil. Very very tasty broth. Both were very tasty– though I wish I would have gotten the chicken or shrimp tacos. They looked amazing. Also, the scallops and the branzino looked to die for. And there was a burger on the menu as well. The starters looked great and everyone liked theirs as well as the salads. Everything looked fresh and simply prepared in a good way. I didn’t have dessert because of a Sees chocolate catastrophe I involved myself in last night but they had cheesecake:) They serve bacon dishes. Nuff said 2 bathrooms in the back. Nice enough. Try it! I’ll be back.

I like this place a lot. Been here four or five times and it’s always been a great experience. Friendly, quick service, tasty food, nice atmosphere, fair price. My fave appetizer is the almond stuffed dates with bacon and blue cheese… Need I say more about that one? The bacon hummus is good but a little salty. We couldn’t finish it between two people. Love the burger and the fish tacos!

My friend and I came to Barmarche this past Friday for dinner, and it didn’t disappoint! We began our meal with shares of a half dozen oysters and the crab stew, and both hit the spot! As entrees, my friend ordered the scallops, and I ordered the burger. Medium-rare, and topped with blue cheese, it ranked among the better burgers that I have had. And accompanied by garlic fries, it was part of a delectable duo! All paired with a couple of glasses of wine, it was one of the more enjoyable meals that I have recently had. And… the churros that we split for dessert were the best that I have ever had!

Barmarche has been on my bucket list for quite some time. Although I ideally wanted to come try this place for a nice weekend brunch, dinner was such a delight and I’m glad I was able to finally try this place out! I first found out about Barmarche because I often find myself wandering around Nolita. After seeing the chalk board menu sitting on the sidewalk during the day and sneaking glances through the windows, that was enough for me to add this to my to-do. My friend Olga and I met up for dinner here. Even though I picked the location, she was very happy with my choice. We weren’t that hungry so we just decided to pick at a few things to share. One thing we both noticed though, this place is kind of dark and romantic. I guess I have a gift for picking out romantic date spots… that turn into awkward«romantic» catching-up-over-dinner-between-good-friends spots. Whatever. The food was delicious and we had a great time! We started with the Spicy Guacamole with pico de gallo & tortilla chips. This was nice and refreshing, a must order if you especially like avocados like I do! Next, we split a apple & fennel salad with toasted pine nuts, fresh basil, cracked pepper, lemon & olive oil. The salad was a good choice, especially since we were trying to eat more veggies. It’s a very tasty salad, not just greens. Lastly, our favorite of the night were the chipotle shrimp tacos made with fresh avocado & crisp tortilla salad with red onion & cilantro. This is a solid place to just go and hang out. There are lots of wines and cocktails to sip on, and an array of dishes to eat if you’re just munching on something light or if you’re starving. Whatever your purpose, they have whatever it is to fulfill your needs. Add a very pleasant staff to this mix and I do not see why you wouldn’t come check Barmarche out at least once!

Wish I could rate this place 3 ½ stars. Not amazing, but very good and no major complaints. Met up with a friend for an early brunch. When I first arrived, the place was completely empty except for one table. Made me a little hesitant to stay at first, but it did fill up pretty decently later. The décor is very cute, sort of Parisien. Since we were early, it was easy to get a quiet table at the back but it didn’t seem like it would be that cramped even if the place did get filled up. A plus for the brunch menu: it has both breakfast and lunch items. I ordered the barmarche breakfast, which is a nice basic with eggs, pancake, potatoes, and bacon or sausage. She ordered the smoked salmon sandwich. Everything was fresh and tasted good. I really liked the garlicky breakfast potatoes and pancake that came with my meal. Portions were also just about right, not too little or too much. Service was a little abrupt. My friend and I were trying to have a good catch-up session so the conversation was flowing non-stop. I really wish the staff had been less disruptive when they served us. Yes I appreciate that you are just trying to do your job, but is it really necessary for you to ask us to halt our conversation so that you can proclaim that you are serving us the tea we ordered? And that the entrees have arrived? And that you are refilling our water glasses? And that you are taking our plates away? How about just quietly putting things down in front of us? We can figure out what’s going on without you making some big announcement. (And before you call me out on being nit-picking, I’ve been to plenty of restaurants whose servers know exactly how to do this.) All in all though, a solid place.

Brunch was delicious! Cool little place with a nice atmosphere and very friendly servers. I had the fish tacos and my friend had the shrimp tacos and of the two, the shrimp was the winner. Both were good, but the shrimp one was amazing! Super flavorful, good amount of shirmp and this is the rare chance that you will get full from eating tacos. My only complaint is that the drinks are small and for $ 6, i wouldn’t really order them. I’d come here for the food alone and yes, they do fill your water all the time!

On my most recent trip to Barmarche, I was disappointed by the wine(I thought both glasses might have been from bottles that had turned). However, the food was excellent. I had the steak which was great(I like my steak to have fat in it as that gives it flavor) and my dining companion had the chicken entrée which was also good. What I would like to emphasize is that Barmarche has great oysters. I’ve had the oysters here several times, sort of on a whim, and they have been great each time. I didn’t really expect it but since it is such a strong trend, I think the oysters are something this place should become known for.

How have I not reviewed this, my old stand by? Forgive my neglect, Barmarche, you’ve been there for me for countless dinners and drinks/snacks – catching up with girly girlfriends(and splitting the small but tasty burger and fries between us as we sipped your wine by the glass, ~$ 10-$ 15) this is legit the perfect size for one person. catching up with my proper women friends and sharing a few appetizers while we imbibe some tequila cocktails — the Honeysuckle has my mouth watering right now. Just get it. It’s perfect. dates with boys, where we downed one of their dozens of bottles of wine and devoured their seasonal risotto as we intertwined our legs under the cute café table and soaked in the atmosphere as we plotted the future. dates with men, where we requested and took over the large corner booth and told each other stories and did our best impressions of oddball British actors, while ordering way too much food and drink from the all over the place menu. My friend Lyndi put it best the other night: the menu is all over the place but in a way that they decided: let’s just make our favorite things. And it shows. We shared an order of bass tacos and pork tacos(with shredded fennel and tomatillo sauce) and it was insane with the Honeysuckle cocktails. We randomly had«Mexican» food in a bistro … yet on other days I’ve had risotto, fish, a burger … you name it. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting — can randomly get sceney during FNO or Saturday night — but it’s usually just a great place to spend an evening, eating and drinking and talking.

When Public had a forty-five minute wait, my friends and I headed over to Barmarché. It was a cute place without a crowd, and we were able to stay for a while. Service was good. Our waiter was attentive and helpful, but he let us be while we caught up over our brunch. I started my day with a Barmarché Bloody Maria, made with tequila and garnished with a green olive and a wedge of lime. It was a fair Bloody Maria with a pleasant kick, though the tequila did seem to pool at the bottom. It cost a reasonable $ 6. The food was decent, if not quite memorable. I had the Monterey eggs, sunny side up over crispy tostada with black beans, guacamole, pico de gallo, and Monterey cheese. It was a substantial savory breakfast dish, and I didn’t miss the meat with the luscious heft of the eggs and beans and guac. The flavors ran together well, bound by the liquid egg yolk, and I liked that the tostada stayed crunchy. I traded a bit with Maka E. for a taste of her smoked salmon crostini. I preferred the Monterey eggs, but this was fine, with smoked salmon, soft-scrambled eggs, spicy guacamole, lemon crème fraiche, and chive on toast. I liked all the accompaniments, but the smoked salmon didn’t do it for me. I love smoked salmon in general, but this wasn’t as delicious as I’d hoped. Jake L. couldn’t finish his chocolate chip pancakes, so we dug into his leftovers for a sweet ending. They were great for dessert, rich and dense and packed with dark chocolate, but probably too sweet and heavy for a meal. The portion was big, too. One for a table wouldn’t be a bad idea for a brunchy dessert. I gather that Barmarché is also a good option for dinner and drinks. It’s a calm, welcoming spot with a handsome bar, so I see the appeal there. The food didn’t knock my socks off, but it was plenty tasty. I had a good time, and I’d probably go again if I lived nearby.

Barmarche is a great spot for dinner. I chose this place to have dinner with a few friends who just flew into NYC and the service was just great. They had a special wine offer and we all had a glass. We ordered: Appetizer 1. Popcorn shrimp — Get this appetizer, I liked it a lot. 2. Calamari fritas — The shrimp taste better. Entrée 3. Branzino — It was good. 4. Roast chicken — This was good too. 5. Seafood saffron risotto — I highly recommend this dish. 6. Ribeye steak frites — Good as well.

Go here for the bacon-wrapped dates. The sangria is good. The bacon hummus is interesting and pretty darn good. The tuna tartare was fine. The bass tacos are very good. The churros with coffee gelato is a solid dessert. on the action-movie-parallel-satisfaction-scale, this place is X-Men 2.

A cute and cozy looking bistro that was perfect for a walk in dinner for four on Sunday at 8:30 pm. We were able to get a table right away and the servers were warm and gracious. I utterly adore Barmarche — the chic and yet still warm environment, wonderful food, lovely service, the only drawback is that it’s incredibly loud. We had to yell across the table in order to be able to talk to each other. If Barmarche could figure out how to dampen the noise, it would be a 5* place. I ordered the branzino, which was tasty, but I was blown away by the shrimp tacos. The sweet plump meat of the shrimp was rich and succulent and oh so juicy. My fork kept straying over to snatch the plump little bodies off the plate and into my mouth. It’s a wonderful date restaurant, but I wouldn’t recommend this place for the beginning stages because it’s too loud to talk comfortably.

Aber vor allem ungewöhnliche Salatkompositionen: duck-confit-and-frisée salad tumbled with banana, goat-cheese brûlée with roasted beets and blueberries, toasted walnuts in pear-and-frisée salad with danish blue cheese, zuchinni — fennel salad. Lecker! Nicht zu teuer und freundlich. Leider wird auch hier(wie überall in NY) das gechlorte Leitungswasser serviert das sollte man besser nicht trinken.
