I figured with a name like Bari and the Italian flag on the exterior, it’d be a buncha pleasant paisans kicking back. Instead, expletives ricocheted off the well-curated shelving from all sides. Had to leave.

So glad I stopped in; I saved over $ 100 on the appliance I was going to get elsewhere! I had wanted a whipped cream dispenser – like this one: could never rationalize dropping about $ 150 on it. Finally, I was set to buy one today, and queued up at Sur La Table with my prize – and my card was declined. «Wait, I’ll go home and get some cash,» I said. «Will you be back today?» the woman asked. «What time do you close?» I asked. «Ten,» she said. «I’ll be back by then,» I replied. I went home, stopped at my credit union to infuse my account with cash, then headed back towards Sur La Table. I passed Bari on the Bowery, and realized the woman selling me the cream dispenser had been so clueless about the cartridges(whippets – tee hee) I would need, I was going to have to get them on the Bowery anyway. I wasn’t even sure what to call this cream whipper, but eventually the guy showed me a professional-quality cream dispenser for less than fifty bucks! We’re on a roll! «Okay, I also need one of those milkshake masters,» I said. I got a Hamilton Beach smoothie maker – the egg-shaped one with the descending wand – for about the same price as the cream whipper. The guy threw in a turkey baster(!) for the hell of it, and I took their business card. I don’t even have room in my kitchen for the gadgets I have – I have about four vintage Mixmasters and at least five blenders, to give you an idea of the depth of my disease – but somehow I manage to juggle them. I’ve reached a milestone in my life: I’ve reached the age at which I get excited about small appliances – and I think it’s a good thing!

If you want to throw money away and get treated like sh*t in the process you should definitely go straight to Bari in the Bowery. I’ve been in the restaurant and bar business for 25 years and these guys are AWFUL. If you could rate negative stars they would get a –20 stars. Please learn from my one mistake trying to conduct business with these rip off artist DONOTGOTOBARIEVER.

Better organization and room then the other stores along the strip. Helpful polite staff for the most part. I will be going back bonus they were having a 25% off sale

Horrible rude company. Sales broken new equipment. They do not want to take responsibility for themselves. I paid over $ 30,000 for equipment. Over the stove I paid 11000 dollars for a new one. For a year she broke the underutilization of 5 times. The shop responsible rude and not willing to help with faulty equipment.

RUDE, NONCHALANT, ANDOVERPRICED is how I would describe this unhelpful establishment. How it’s been in business for so long is beyond me. During my stay, I saw cussing to a customer over the phone and unknowingly witnessed a Sopranos rerun incarnate. Maybe it has to do with everyone and their uncle named after Jersey Shore reality degenerates, or maybe it was the body in the back. J/K about the body, relax.

Good prices, good selection. Great for the home pizza maker. Here’s a tip. Check their website before going. Something might be cheaper. They will probably honor the price.

It’s a typical Bowery restaurant supply store, but the prices are right and the staff are OK. I needed to buy a few plates, which are like $ 8 – 12 each at stores like Bed Bath & Beyond, and thin, cheap quality. I bought them here at Bari and got thick, oven-proof restaurant quality stuff. For $ 19 I got all the following: one dinner plate, two side plates, one bowl, one glass salad plate, and a plastic funnel. All that could have been $ 50 at those other stores. This store is good for aluminum and stainless steel pots and pans(restaurant-quality, nice and thick). Nothing high-end though, no cast iron, carbon steel, SS-lined aluminum. They have plenty of utensils though.
