Best experience I ever had with a ‘beautician’.
Claudia Theodoro has great communication and made me feel calm and secure. She knows what she is doing… HAIR LASER REMOVAL with NO PAIN is in her. In 1 session I had great results. I’m also going for a tattoo laser removal and face treatment.

After the experience before, I was a bit hesitant when Claudia left me after reading my review to rectify the situation. BUT, I was willing to play ball, and see what could be done. I did after all, have two sessions left.
Rescheduling was a bit difficult, but as it turns out, the receptionist is solely for bare body but also for the other offices also connected in the space.
I went back for my sessions and than some. Claudia was super nice and very determined to resolve my hair issue. Even using two different lasers to get rid of it.
Unfortunately, after two months, the hair has grown back — although obviously not to the degree it was, but enough that I still have to shave. Maybe I just have super stubborn hair?
In any event, considering how determined Claudia was to make sure it worked, I would consider going back for treatments of other body parts too.

Today was my second laser hair removal on my upper lip at Bare Body Laser. I had done Laser Hair removal before and was never as efficient as Bare Body Laser Spa.
All the staff was very nice, Claudia was patience and knowledgeable she answer all my question and concerns. I already booked my 3 appointment and I already refer some friends. Thanks do Bare Body Laser and Claudia, you are the best Laser Hair Removal in New York !!

I had a good experience here for tatoo removal. I found it to be a professional, clean and comfortable environment and Claudia was very honest, focused and friendly. I had a 13 year old tattoo I wanted to remove, a tree, black ink, about 2 inches by 1 inch, so on the smaller side. I used two Groupons for 6 sessions and it’s mostly disappeared! Yes, the removal stings a bit and I’m a whimp and don’t think I’d be able to handle a larger area without being knocked out. Perhaps because I wasn’t really expecting it to to fade as well as it did, I’m happily surprised with the treatment. She told me to wait 6 months to let the ink be absorbed naturally, which it has done and I just need to go back to see if the little shadow that’s left can be minimized (I’m very pale so everything shows up). I did have a difficult time signing up online too and ended up walking in and made my appointments that way, so the technical process of making appointments on line could be tweaked, but I think you can make appointments over the phone too.

I got this through a Unilocal deal, and I used it towards a Brazilian bikini, in which I got a nice 50% discount. It was extremely fast and painless, after one week of treatment I already had great results. The staff was courteous and professional. Very relaxing atmosphere. I definitely recommend it.

I had a dark tattoo on my arm and after 3 sessions its almost completely faded. Everything was quick easy and straight forward. Of course the removal does hurt but nothing you can’t put up with. I was very skeptical at first after the 1^st sessions but as time passed and the use of the laser on the tattoo it eventually faded. I recommend this place along with time and patience.

I also found this place on groupon for three sessions of tattoo removal. i tried to make my first appointment in September 2012. They wanted me to book my appointment online which wouldn’t even work because their website wasn’t updated. Then I finally managed to make an appointment with Claudia and that’s when it all began. They emailed and called six separate occasions in a one week time period to cancel and rebook. I had to rebook 6 times! The part that was most upsetting was they were booking me for their Astoria location which turned out not even to be open on the days they were making the appointments with me. Then in the end the last attempt we booked the appointment at their nyc location. The next day I received a call that my appointment can not be finalized unless I book my appointment online. I said that we already tried that but it doesn’t work. The woman on the phone said, «Well why don’t you give it another try?» I got fed up and returned the deal to groupon.
Oh, but it doesn’t end there. On November 24^th I started receiving phone calls and emails from them trying to book an appointment with me. Two months later! I didn’t want them to continue calling so I wrote an email back saying,
«Sorry I am very busy and was not able to call. I am no longer interested in planning a visit.
I have already returned the groupon due to the fact that my original appointment was changed 6 times in one week.
Not by my choice. I do not want to come off aggressive or angry but I did loose time and money over trying to schedule an appointment with your company. I have 13 tattoos that I was interested in removing. I would have made a good client. It is a shame that this could not work out differently.»

I think the most appalling part is that they had the nerve to use the hurricane as an excuse! People lost their homes and there were many casualties and this place tried to exploit that. Shame on them.
Also I have never Unilocaled before. I actually set up this account just to say something about Bare Body Laser Spa. Shame Shame on you!

Like other reviewers, I do not like this salon either because of the fact that I did 3 laser hair removal sessions and it didn’t do anything!!! I think it’s because the fact that it was a groupon deal and the owner who performed my procedures intentionally used lower «dose» of laser to make sure you have to buy more sessions. You know why I know? Because I already did 2 sessions of laser removal at the same spot in another place (regular price) and trust me, 2 sessions got rid of 60% of the hair.
The owner then suggested me to purchase another 3 sessions (she said that she can give me the best deal — same price as a groupon) and I did. So I did another session.
4 sessions in total but DID NOT DO ANYTHING AT ALL
I was really upset and called to ask for refund (at least the second 3-​session I bought). Obviously she said no
Whatever, i didn’t argue with her or waste too much of my time.

Bare Body Laser Spa offered a Groupon in March 2012 for tattoo removal. It was a fabulous deal, so I did some research, found decent reviews and purchased 6 sessions. I tried to make my first appointment that day, and had the same issue Cat S. described, where the site tried to charge me $ 99, despite having a Groupon. There were no special instructions for Groupon customers, so after about 10 minutes on their website, I called the spa for help. The next day I received an email that my appointment had to be rescheduled; the new tattoo removal laser wasn’t going to be ready in time. No big deal, I immediately rescheduled for a few weeks later. A few days before my second attempted appointment, I received another email that Claudia would be out of town for a conference, and my appointment had to be rescheduled. Hmmm, at this point, it’s becoming annoying and a little unprofessional, but okay. I can understand these things happen. I make a third appointment (now 6 weeks after I purchased the Groupon), and sure enough, receive an email a week later that my appointment needs to be rescheduled, this time with no explanation. That was it for me. I called Groupon that day for a refund. I can’t speak to the quality of the facility itself, or any of the services they offer because despite my best efforts, Claudia cancelled every appointment I made with her. I can tell you, however, that the website is not user friendly, and that Bare Body Laser Spa doesn’t respect your time or your business.

I purchased a groupon in March 2012 and I have not been able to book an appoitment (its July 2012). I tried to book on-​line but the site ALWAYS asks for credit card information and wants to charge me 99 dollars. I call and tell Claudia that I purchased a groupon, she tells me «yeah its ok, just book the appoitment on-​line» I tell her the site wants to charge me 99 dollars, she says it wont charge me (me thinks she lies) don’t waste your time or money at this salon. I am asking groupon for a refund.

This is a one-​woman business, and she happened to stand me up twice. No one that does not respect your time deserves your business.

What can I say?
I’m not a newbie to laser hair removal but I never had such a great experience before. They have a brand new laser machine (like the other reviews say) that it doesn’t hurt at all! I have to be honest, at first I thought it was a scam (how can you remove hair without pain?!. it’s too good to be true!!) but after 2 months and barely no hair growing I am amazed by it!
Their prices are WAAY better then in the city and they have some «package specials». The spa is just outside the N/​Q train… no hassle to get there .
I highly recommend and I will be going back to do more !
