I was in the elevator with one of the doormen a few days ago. It was a Sunday and I was wiped out and in a foul mood. I said to him«Man, working on Sunday. Rough huh.» He said«You kidding me? My job is hanging out with and looking out for a couple hundred of the kindest, most interesting families in NYC. I love my job.» He wasn’t just saying that and it really, really shows in everything these guys do.

+Pre-war apartments located in the heart of the Financial District. +Relatively affordable and spacious. +Many different layouts. Extra-high ceilings in select apartments. +A hop, skip, and jump from the Path train and Metro station. –Many amenities, however they are extremely outdated. –Leasing office operates like an assembly line — the tour was rushed and we were pushed with a ‘take-it or leave-it’ opportunity. I suppose there is a high turnover rate. While Barclay Tower was not what we were looking for, it could be a terrific, affordable option for those who work in FiDi or commute via PATH. Tip: Ask to see the units with the high ceilings =)

Excellent building – great amenities(beautiful pool and gym, children’s playroom and residents lounge), high end finishes and the service folks couldn’t be more helpful. If you are looking for full-service in Tribeca(even though this building is right on the«official» Tribeca border with the financial district) I don’t think you could ask for anything more. One downside, however, are the prices – you definitely pay a premium for the Glenwood experience(but I think its worth it!)
