Bang Bang Tattoos

Visited New York last week and wanted to get a quick tattoo whilst visiting. All I wanted was a small tattoo somewhere to represent the amazing trip I had so I headed down to the Bang Bang studio. Don’t get me wrong from just standing at the front desk the studio looked amazing and clean but the minimum price of $ 300 was extortionate money. Even for a little piece I would have to pay this minimum fare which is ridiculous money. For anyone thinking of going, don’t go. There are a lot more just as nice and cheaper tattoo parlours close by. Don’t be conned into paying this much just because the studio and some of the artists may be a little more well known. Not worth anyone’s money or time.

Before coming to BangBang I did a lot of research about local tattoo shops. I went to a couple, but wasn’t really impressed. This is something that you will have all your life so it has to be absolutely amazing. Amazing things cost lots of money. When I first time stopped by BangBang I already knew If I got tattooed it would be only Anatole. I had a very old silly tattoo and I wanted to cover it with something incredibly beautiful. I showed him a piece a liked and he estimated $ 5000! I was shocked. The piece was big — half arm, no less. But I would never even think it would be that expensive. So I went home to think it over. I did a lot of research again, but could not find any place similar that had such a level of quality. I decided to go back and ask about something smaller. Second time Anatole suggested me getting a scull and a rose and it was a great idea. We scheduled an appointment. I had to wait 2 full months. It was worth waiting though! The tattoo is just amazing. I paid $ 3000 for a tattoo that took Anatole 8 hours to make, but I was absolutely happy with it! I have more to say!!! After only 4 months I came back and got a new tattoo! And I love it so much. I can’t even thank enough Anatole for doing his job so well! He is truly an amazing artist. To prove that I’m attaching my second tattoo.

I got my first tattoo ever from Rob Green and the experience with dealing with Bang Bang was totally great. The only reason I’m not giving a 5^th star is because of the $ 300 minimum ($ 300/​hour with a one hour minimum) and my tattoo only took 20 minutes. It was a tattoo that would have cost about $ 100 elsewhere, but I was happy to pay triple to get an artist that I knew would do a great job based on his Instagram. It is a tattoo, of course, and it is going to be on my arm until I literally die… so I didn’t mind paying a lot to get great quality. Rob was light handed and quick. The space is cool and making the appointment over phone/​email was super easy and seamless — friendly people manning the front desk. When I arrived, I thought the music was too loud and that made me anxious at first, but then I realized its good to drown out the sound of needles and of my own inner monologue about how scared I was about the pain. Overall, it was not an issue and I’d go back to Bang Bang and Rob Green over and over again without hesitation. Highly recommended if you can afford it!

Whoever controls the Instagram site for this place is absolutely horrible & very unprofessional. Using curse words and profanity. Bashed me because I have a Monroe piercing yet they do piercings here? I would never take my business to this person who treats potential customers like this. Wouldn’t even give one star.

I like the artwork the people working here do. Defiantly talented. but i got a really really overpriced price quote for a forearm tattoo so I decided not to waste the money. It was actually over $ 1000. For an inner forearm tattoo? That’s not a fair price. There’s lots of good artists in New York who don’t overcharge like this.

Simply fantastic tattoo shop. Came here for my 4^th tattoo and it’s my best one yet. I can’t say enough about Kristi, she does amazing work and is so nice. The guy working at the front desk is also very welcoming and helpful. This place is top notch, I will be going back for more work, and will not be going anywhere else ever again.
