I don’t know. I’ll be honest and say I’ve never had any of their bagels but other breakfast platters.(I highly encourage you guys to read the book, «Wheat Belly» by William Davis). Anyhoo, continuing on with the review — I feel these people overcharge, and I wonder why. Anyway, once, a man was in front of me on the line to pay, and he only bought three Poland Spring type waters(the one pinters). The waters totaled something like $ 7.63, or something ridiculous like that. The man yelled, «Ridiculous» and walked right out and left the waters on the counter. I once ordered an omelette, coffee and an apple, and it came out to a little under ten dollars. I thought that was ridiculous. I’m also not sure why a coffee would be something like $ 2.01 instead of just making it $ 2.00 even. It’s like they’re forcing you to break bills and get change. It’s ridiculous. I’m thinking about one day paying in pennies. But I guess the owner thinks, «Well, if everyone who comes here pays that extra penny, think about how much money I can make!» It’s just unfortunate that this is the only breakfast place around that area — maybe the owner knows this and overcharges as well. Think if you are near a college, you’d be making a killing if you charged that extra penny on everything! And yes, I’ve used the word, «Ridiculous» a lot because that is what the pricing here is: Ridiculous!

Awesome breakfast spot and great service! Turned my roommates onto this place as well and they love it too. I usually get a sausage, egg, and hash brown on a spinach bagel or avocado cream cheese on a spinach bagel. Either is amazing and never disappointed. They have a crazy selection of cream cheeses I’ve never seen, so if your feeling adventurous definitely check out what they have to offer.

I’d say I’m here at least twice a week. These are the best bagels in the area. They’re huge and fluffy. This place is always crowded on Saturday and Sunday mornings but the line tends to move pretty quickly. They have so many different options of bagels, sandwiches, spreads, and toppings. Try to keep your order as concise and straightforward as possible — the service tends to get a little bit loud and crazy. 95% of the time your order will come out correct. However, I still would suggest checking before you leave. Sometimes the girls at the register get orders mixed up. I also wouldn’t suggest dining in because it gets so busy and crowded.

This place is not great, but it’s not bad either. Since it is across the street from Baruch College, expect large crowds in the morning and around lunch time. I think this place manages well with the long lines, so it’s a good place to go if you just want something quick. During warmer months, it is nice to be able to eat outside if you can find a chair and table in front of Baruch College. The menu is difficult to read, so it is best to know what you are getting ahead of time. I was not impressed with their breakfast sandwiches, but you can’t go wrong with a bagel and one of the cream cheeses. My favorites are the everything bagel with avocado cream cheese and a blueberry bagel with blueberry cream cheese. However, I have tried a variety of combination and they have all been up to par. Bagel Express definitely does not skimp on the cream cheese and the price is cheap, so like I said, it gets the job back. I’ll definitely be back soon.

Okay. You come to bagel express for bagels and cream cheese then okay good. But for other breakfast sandwiches. Don’t do so. I ordered a ham egg and cheese. And I got a tiny piece of ham. So unacceptable. I would’ve gone back and asked them to make me another one but I had to go back to class. I lost hope for this place in breakfast sandwich standings. Unbelievable.

I’ve been going here everyday for the past couple of months or so. It’s right by my school and convenient. And that’s probably the only reason I’ve been going for so long, but today I made a promise never to go back. The bagels are alright at best. Service is quick, but everyone is extremely rude and acts as if they don’t really want your business. Ask for cheddar cheese? You won’t get it. Ask for an over easy egg? You’ll get a raw egg. Ask for your bagel toasted? You’ll get a burnt egg and undercooked bagel. The only reason I go to this place besides it being in the same plaza as my school is because of the very very low credit card minimum. If you have cash or are spending more than $ 7, walk an extra block south and go to pick a bagel. Also, found a small black hair in my food today(I’m as blonde as it gets). Never again!

Bagels are delicious and service is fast! Coffee is watered down a bit, however, otherwise would have given 4-stars.

Fast service, good fresh bagels, generous cream cheese spread, 5 stars for taste and texture. Instead of waiting 2 hours for a well known bagel place, we chose(rightly) to find something convenient that New Yorkers might go to every day. I ordered the everything bagel with jalapeño cream and had it toasted. Crispy outside, soft and chewy inside. Coffee was fresh and cheap. The only complaint is that the menu is hard to read. I had to walk back and forth to figure out the options, peer through their display glass to investigate non menu offerings.

10 $ for a bagel with lox and cream cheese!!! Really? Would have been nice to have a little warning considering there wasn’t much lox on it.

Our hotel is right across the street to Bagel Express III. And because of the fact that we already had our third time in NYC and in this hotel, we had lots of breakfast experiences at BE-III! My Darling prefers pancakes, eggs, bacon. Sometimes he does an experiment and tries eggs pancakes and bacon. Or something completely different: bacon pancakes and eggs… I´m not that adventure seeker! I take a fruit bowl or a bagel with cream cheese or an egg white omelet or something like that. And though there are certainly difficulties to compound to the«next one”-dude, the breakfasts always are yummy and have fair prices. So if we go to NYC next time and we´ll choose another hotel — first time — we´ll definitely miss the Bagel Express III!

Ordered: Whole Wheat Bagel, Garlic Cream Cheese & Lox. Price $ 9.00 My First Lox Sandwich: Hated it. The whole sandwich tasted like marinaded salt fish. I don’t think it was the quality of the sandwich, I think it was my taste buds. Also, it’s something about cold seafood the morning that did not agree with my stomach. I assumed when I spent $ 9.00 on a sandwich, I was going to experience an epiphany. Yup, that’s how my thought process goes. Honestly, bacon, scrambled egg white platter with home fries($ 4.00) would have been a better investment. Customer Service: It’s hard to be for Woman’s Right when every time I have a customer service issue it’s with a woman. The cashier is in such a rush to put my sandwich in the bag she rips it. So, the assumption would be get another bag? No, she gave me the ripped bag. I asked her if I can get another unripped bag, she looked at me as if I asked her a for another sandwich. Have you ever had that feeling of slamming the counter when a cashier makes your purchase difficult? I’m asking things that are in job description, honey. Will I go there again? It is 3 seconds away from the Baruch College Vertical Campus so it’s a «I’m so hungry, but I don’t want to walk to Lex &17 for the Hidden City Café.»

Due to the serious lack of good bagel places in the area, this may be one of the best options. The bagels themselves are actually really really good, and they don’t over do it on the cream cheese. They have a lot of options for flavors/types of bagels, I think the total price for two bagels toasted with cream cheese was less than $ 10, somewhere in the high $ 7 range. Unfortunately, they do not have flat bagels, if they did, this place would be a perfect option. The workers are nice too! Basically, after being traumatized by Pick a Bagel I think this place is muuuuch better.

The workers ALWAYS change the prices when they ring you up… BEWARE!!! Prices went up around 25% from around 2013. I think the quality of food went down.

They used to be good but have been declining. I’m never ordering from them again. One hour wait for delivery. IT arrived slimy and it was the wrong order. They’re constantly having phone problems. LIe when you call to check on your order: it is always on its way… an hour later… ANHOURFOR A BAGEL! The food is passable and frankly there’s nothing original here. There are better places.

While this place is a chain, they actually do a really good job of providing fresh LARGE bagels that have a great chew — gluten-y, just the way I like it. What I like to do is order my bagel untoasted so that u can accurately judge the freshness and chew. This bagel definitely passed the test. In terms of types, I sampled the sesame and the onion. Both good. The onion I had as a sausage omelet bagel sandwich which was excellent. Plenty of egg and sausage freshly made!

So many bagel spots in NYC, heck this one is the 3rd in the chain of Bagel Express shops, nonetheless the bagels are on point ! With a variety of spreads(sweet and savory choices) you have many bagel/spread combination choices. The service is sometimes inconsistent and it turns into a yelling match over the counter, but your order comes out the way you wanted !

This placed has the best French vanilla iced coffee! I loved the fresh onion bagel with ham, cheese and egg, it was delicious! I’ll definitely be coming back for my morning meal. I just started working days and Unilocaled places that were close to my job, glad I found it!

Very nearby to where I go to school so I decided to come here half an hour before my class to grab a bite to eat. In what appears to be a typical deli, Bagel Express offers a huge variety of different bagels included the«everything» bagel, and your typical poppy seed bagels and oat bagels. I went ahead and ordered the Everything Bagel with Basil Cream Cheese and it was exactly what I expected. The bagel itself was hot and toasty, and the cream cheese was just right. +1 for being inexpensive too… everything was about $ 3. Will be back the next time I’m craving bagels!

Went here on a recommendation from a friend who lives in the neighborhood. Bagels($ 1) are good — nice crispy outside, soft dough inside. I had their avacado and cilantro cream cheese which was very good and savory. I also tried the walnut raisin which was also good and more sweet. Can’t go wrong grabbing a bagel here, but didn’t try anything else!

It’s alright… there are better bagels out there. I stopped by here before class for a Lox Bagel. I was not too impressed, maybe because I have been so spoiled with other more gourmet bagel spots. The everything bagel I got was very hard and I had a hard time biting into it. The scallion cream cheese was alright but had a funky aftertaste. The slice of smoked salmon was definitely not fresh. However, I do like the coffee options.
