B Cup is everything you could ever want in a café: –Amazing coffee(that isn’t small and overpriced) –Great food(wraps, sandwiches, all day breakfast, pastries) –Free, reliable wifi(FREE) –Bathroom –Couches –Plenty of open tables –Calm music(great for reading/studying to) –Friendly staff –Funky atmosphere All the things. So pleased to have found my new favorite spot in the village.

I am still searching for the coffee shop in NYC where you can really sink into a cozy arm chair and read a book while ingesting some prime caffeine. B Cup was close. The couches were just a little too worn to really sink into– they felt like something your uncle would have given you for your college house that he had been saving since his college days. That said, the environment was cheerful, and there was much more seating than most coffee shops so even on a busy Monday holiday I was able to get a great seat. Definitely seemed to be a college aged crowd predominantly. I tried the basil, roasted tomato and mozzarella sandwich and it was a 2⁄5. They did have a lot of interesting other food options, so perhaps I am simply terrible at ordering! Cute place to cozy up and get a few hours work or reading done.

How many bad experiences does it take to no longer receive my money? More than three. Supporting this local business used to be a positive exchange for both this customer and Bcup Café. Sadly, ignoring customers, having private conversations while taking orders, and scowling at any customer’s obvious(justified) dismay at the shift in customer service has become standard procedure at Bcup. The food is still good, but the service is inconsistent. Good job, Bcup. Loyal customers of the past few years are clearly not needed by your establishment. If you want inconsistent service that vacillates between aloofness and general dislike of customers, go to Bcup. If you want to know how I used to feel about Bcup, read my previous review below. I have been a loyal customer of BCup since the place opened. The service and food have always been great. If you want quiet(except for the fantastic music selections) stop in early. Still, Bcup is never overly loud and there are plenty of seats in various forms for all café-dwellers.

My favorite coffeshop in the city. Very friendly and often the same staff working every time, so it feels familiar. Cash only, but there’s an ATM inside. Such a warm and cozy environment. There’s couches and magazines to read + free wi fi. Really recommend the green tea latte(not on the menu) and the Israeli breakfast

Expensive but great for a quick healthy bite. The ingredients are fresh and the serving sizes are good. The coffee is mediocre but they take the cups app so it makes it an easy stop for me!

Really rude female manager. Very moody! They microwave their eggs, which is pretty appalling given their prices. Disappointing!

There’s some good options for food and drink here, but although they’re tasty, I can’t get myself over how pricey this place is! It’s too high to go frequently, even for plain black coffee. It’s also cash only, which makes it even harder for me to be motivated or even able to spend the dough here. A good atmosphere though. Seems to be going for the central perk cozy vibe. Phoebe wouldn’t be able to afford this place though :/

The space is really great. I love the atmosphere. Very friendly staff. The iced coffee I ordered was way too watery but I got to sit there and do a lot of work which was nice. There are a couple couches, too.

Nice spot in the East Village to have a coffee and sandwich or to do some work. There is ample table seating as well as couches.

Excellent red eye to compliment egg sandwich in a cozy environment with very nice people running the place. Just off the beaten path this café is my favorite in the east village. You can pick up your airbnb key at the counter and there’s an ATM inside. Cash only reinforces the fact of independence.

The staff was so incompetent that I got neither my food or my money back — I feel like when you pay for food you don’t get it warrants a 1 star review. Frankly I would rate them 0 if I could. .An hour ago I was in a hurry and ordered a coffee and baguette with cream cheese(never done it but saw it on the menu) to go. I pay my 6 dollars and sit down. 5 minutes later a couple other people behind me have been served and 1 of the 4 baristas, said«what did you order?» I told her and she said, «oh its coming.» 5 minutes later she has my coffee and I look over at the place where they are heating bagels and baguettes and I don’t see a baguette so I say«Oh, I also had a baguette.» She gives me a dirty look and says«I told you its coming.» 5 minutes later I decide I’m going to leave with or without the baguette, so I go up and ask about it. She says«who did you order with?» I point him out and he says«Its coming.» FINALLY they pull the baguette out for the first time and start to slice it. I now don’t have time for them to heat it up. I told them I wanted my money back instead, they looked at each other for like 20 seconds without getting my money so I just walked out. It was only 15 minutes, but it was the fact that they had 4 baristas and it wasn’t at all busy(maybe like 4 customers during the 15 minutes), and they just decided not do my meal. And they were rude to me when I asked about it. And they lied to me about whether it was«coming.» When pretty clearly I could look over and see that they were lying. Drip coffee was a little weak for my taste(Starbucks is slightly better). The baguette was non-existent.

Wish had a great experience but their staff is rude and unprofessional. I wasn’t expecting much to begin with so really disappointed. Went there and order a cup of coffee and croissant and then took a chair and while waiting for my order to be ready member of their staff approached and asked me why I am sitting without ordering as café is only for customer. I mention that I already placed my order but it took few minutes for her to absorb that basic information. I mean even if I were sitting there and taking time to decide what to order the café has enough empty seat and there were no lines either. The manager was right there and pretend nothing happened. Understandably never went back and it’s a shame as I visit most café in the neighborhood pretty much every day with friends and we decided to skip this one!

I’m neighbors with B Cup and they’re great! The staff and owner are friendly, and they offer a wide set of pastries alone — many gluten-free and/or vegan. I suggest starting out with the hugely popular big Oreo or the peanut butter cookies for about a buck each. B Cup is cash only, which is sometimes limiting, but they have an ATM inside. The space is pretty big and homey, with an assortment of tables, sofas, chairs, bar stools and counters, so plenty of space to sit down with your laptop or a book. There are also permanent benches outside. I definitely recommend going to this café if you’re in the area to pick up a coffee!

Man, this is the place to go if you’re gluten-free! Since trying GF, I’ve been incredibly limited when I go to cafes, but not here! The staff was so helpful and told me everything I could get. They have homemade gluten-free ciabatta rolls for the paninis… and it’s seriously the only GF bread I’ve tried that didn’t taste like dirt. It tasted amazing! They also have a wide selection of GF cookies and baked goods, and although I was hesitant, the chocolate chip cup cookie was delicious! I almost went back to get another one! Also had a banana smoothie which was good. Cute, comfortable vibe too. Cash only, but there is an ATM inside.

Gluten free ciabatta! It’s delicious… Very soft and warm. There is free wifi so it’s a cozy place to catch up on some work.

After searching for a wifi café in the neighborhood that wasn’t too packed or filled with MacBooks(I am a netbook type of girl) I discovered this coffee shop which met all my needs. It was a cozy place in the East Village to get some work done. They have free wi-fi and delicious iced coffee. It’s served in a large pint glass vase. I actually always find a spot to sit that is not overly crowded, plus an outlet — SCORE! Great atmosphere to get work done and people watch and yummy sandwiches! This is definitely my new go to coffee shop in the area.

Spent a very relaxing Sunday afternoon here! Nice little place with a fun, welcoming vibe and fantastic sandwiches. You can make a sandwich with just about anything you could possibly want. They have a large set of base sandwiches(10 – 15); you select one and then can customize it by choosing the bread and add-ons from a huge list of choices: proteins, cheeses, and lots of veggies. They’re pretty hefty, and also come with a nice little salad. They have some other exciting selections too, like shakshuka. My sandwich turned out so delicious that I feel I should share my recipe with the world. I got: goat cheese, carrots, sundried tomatoes, and crushed walnuts on whole wheat bread with pesto sauce. So if you if you find yourself overwhelmed by the choices, just go with that. I also got a plain cup of coffee, which was pretty good and came in HUGE mug. Probably more coffee than I needed, but I’m not complaining. It can get a little claustrophobic, especially around all the little tables, which are in front of the counter. They didn’t seem like a very nice place to sit since there’s tons of people standing around ordering their food. I was able to get a seat at the counter looking out the window, which was lovely. The music selection was. highly variable. It started out pretty bad(in my humble opinion), then changed abruptly(clearly, someone else took charge) and became fantastic.

I’m rarely in the East Village on a weekend morning but my dogs’ groomer is located a block away so I came to grab some breakfast while I waited. The staff is so friendly and the space is so unique – love small businesses. I’d tried the special breakfast quiche and it was delicious! Only downside: due to the free wifi, you do have many patrons with laptops that takeover a 4-top table alone and stay for awhile. Luckily during my early morning visit, I was able to find a cozy corner to sit and eat. Cash only.

Cash only: two words that indicate a business wants me to hate them. There’s an ATM right by the door though. Like right by the door. Where people sitting at the counter or at the table two feet away can help themselves to your PIN number and mug you later. My latte was possibly one of the most underwhelming coffees I have ever had in my life. Too watery and too milky. At least it was only $ 4 for a medium sized up(which I think is the only option, but oh well). I watched the guys preparing food and coffee while I waited – I find it amusing someone mentioned this is a «tea lovers heaven.» Those were Celestial Seasonings packets behind the counter. Perusing the menu is an overwhelming experience. Handwritten menus are cute, but the hodge podge of graffiti-like typography makes it hard to pick just one thing. The menu extends from above the counter to the areas below the order counter and around to the pick up counter. Plenty of tables and chairs are squeezed in to this small space, which makes it a lot unlike many other places in the city. I may only come back if there is no where else to go.

I’ve been really surprised about how hard it is to find cafes with free wifi in NYC. This is a rare instance of a wifi provider that actually also has really delicious food, too! There’s a surprisingly large menu for how small the place is — everything from smoothies to sandwiches to breakfast dishes. I went with a tuna avocado wrap, and thought it might not be much to look at the flavor was wonderful! I loved how they grilled the tortilla panini style. Top that with a cheerful staff, good music, and fun colorful graffiti themed décor and charming mismatched furniture. It’s a super comfy and accessible place to get some work done while enjoying a tasty meal. Only negative? Cash only. Whyyyy are so many places in New York cash only!!!

This is an awesome, hip neighborhood café that’s hard to beat in the area. It’s in a great spot on avenue B, close to 14th street, but still a ways before B gets packed with restaurants and shops. They have a great selection of light/healthy meals. I love the avocado sandwich that I usually top with a hard boiled egg. They also have delicious iced coffee that’s served in little milk bottle carafes… Which for me is reason enough to order it. I also love the seating. There are couches in the back, tables, and an antique couch/chair seating area by the big windows in front. They’ve also got free wifi, and it seems like a great place to relax, get comfortable, and write a novel.
