Atomic Wings

They served stale chicken wings. We must be unlucky. Cuz we went around 3pm, Nobody’s there. Staff maybe wanted to take a rest… oh already closed?! no wonder…

Permanently closed. Subway Inn is renovating the kitchen and will serve their own food from now on

Inconsistent. Sometimes the wings are fantastic, crispy and hot, other times you get mushy nastiness. In general they drown their wings in sauce, some people like that, me not so much. Had a black hair in my wings once. Eeww! I order from wing bistro down the block now, way better quality.

I was expecting the «original» Atomic Wings…:(the open windows are gone and the wings and bar function independent of one another. the «improvements» are cheap and raunchy… Hoping that the wings are @ least still good! I will NOT ever return to this dump…

Ok. So the celery and carrots are sad. «Heaps» is 4 petite celery sticks, 3 petite carrot sticks, kinda brown and ugly, and I’d be unlikely to even put them in a soup stock.
That said, I usually have celery and carrots (and much better Bleu Cheese dressing) in my fridge.
The wings, however, are my favorite.
Skip the «extras» and go heavy on the main. I understand you may feel paid-​for extras should be edible, but the best way to go is prep the sides while you wait for the wings.
Particularly as you can get pre-​cut celery/​carrots in just about any supermarket. Don’t make yourself crazy just because the 3 celery stalks are wilted.

Get ready to have your mouth, fingers, skin, and @$$ burn after eating their hottest wings. Thankfully the bar supplies enough beer and napkins to kill the spicy sensation. It goes down great and painful and it also leaves you great and painful as you cannot wait to unleash the brown torrent on their toilets.

Even though it’s closed, somehow the delivery guys are coming and going using a street grating during better weather, otherwise the front door thru space being renovated to a basement stair apparently.

Thursday the wood barricade came down on the storeftont, but I DONT see a work permit. Anyway its turning into another bar.
Officially open again about 2 months now, same place different bar, with few windows. Turns out it never really closed, just operated out of a service hatch in the sidewalk during renovation.
After a few bad orders, just don’t go there anymore. Cold soggy onions, no horseradish sauce, one looked like it was stuffed with someone else’s leftovers, wrong wing order. That kind if stuff.

I actually quite like this place. I am a fiend for the vegetarian wings, they are the best Ive had since Foodswings closed (RIP, lone tear). The times we went there, the server was nice, very accommodating and the wings were really good. The only reason I gave it 4 stars not 5 is that they have occasionally been out of the wings.
The hot sauce can get insanely hot. I like hot, and once you get above Abusive… you are playing with fire
But all in all, I have been here a few times and none I can say have been disappointing.

Blue room has closed and this place is serving wings out of a place that should be closed down. I walked in and couldn’t believe how dirty it was. The bathroom looked dirtier than a truck stop in BFE! I would not order anything from this place.

Came here on a friday and it wasn’t packed at all. Our waitress wasn’t friendly at all and she was quick to take our order. We ordered 20 wings flavored mild and garlic parmesan half with bones and the other without. We also ordered waffle fries. The wings seemed like they just out sauce on it so it wasn’t anything special at all. The garlic parmesan sauce was very oily and had way to much butter to enjoy. After this meal or snack I had an upset stomach. I enjoyed the waffle fries though?

I’m a wing fanatic and this spot was just disappointing. The wings were over-​sauced, extremely salty, and just not perfectly crispy.
I actually dined in, which should’ve made them even better so I can imagine getting them delivered would’ve made them more soggy.
The bar here is pretty gross. It’s not air conditioned and just not really clean. I know atomic wings does a lot of take out so a lot of people probably have never even visited the bar that the wing place sits in.
I always go for traditional buffalo style wings, and I prefer to get actual wings as opposed to boneless, but it’s nice they have the option.
The waffle fries were good, also nothing special. They charge extra to get carrots and celery and the blue cheese comes in a container w a sealed lid so you know it’s nothing special or authentic.
I also have to mention the service. I chose to sit at the bar, thinking it would make for quick, fast service. I was ignored for a few minutes before asking if I could order food at the bar. The bartender/​owner? Of the bar says «NO!» to everything and then proceeds to do it anyway. «Can I have a water please?» «NO!» Pretty sure he thought he was hilarious, but it was quite the opposite.
Overall, just nothing to come back for. There are so many better wing places in the city to go for! Hint, hint — Bar Coastal.

We come here for wings because it’s the only sit down wings place closeby. Last night my fiancé ordered thai chili wings and I got the St. Louis BBQ ribs combo with waffle fries. The website menu said the combo comes with a drink but the prices were higher at the location and a drink wasn’t part of the combo.
The wings were… okay at best. They were kind of small and pricey for what they were. The flavor for the thai chili sauce was alright though. The ribs were relatively cheap but the meat itself was dry and hard. I had to really get in there and pry the ribs apart and some of it was as hard as jerky. Definitely wouldn’t recommend them.
Our waitress took forever to take our order and then didn’t come by again until my fiancé stared her down after we had been done eating for a while and she was sitting at the bar and chatting. We didn’t mention anything but she did comp a drink for keeping us waiting so I left feeling half grumpy half mollified.

Poor management! It should really only deserve no star at all! Low quality food! Their wings size are so small and it doesn’t taste fresh at all! Plus the waitress is so mean and rude there!
Never go back to that place again! Avoid that place neighbors!!!

Came here last week after work during their happy hour. Ordered the nachos with chorizo, garlic parm wings, thai chili wings and two sodas. Bill was over 50 bucks.
The food LOOKED better than I expected but tasted WORSE that I expected. There was some weird spice in the nacho seasoning (almost nutmegy) and there were other things like celery and carrot chunks it it. It wasn’t bad it was just strange as heck.
The wings were not very good, the garlic tasted like stale garlic powder and the thai chili was just like sweet glaze. The waitress did keep checking on us and the place was pretty quiet for 5:30 on a Wednesday.
Some other strange things, on top of their pricey prices, they charge $ 1.50 extra for celery and carrot sticks on the side of your wings.
The menu seems repetitive but it would take too long to read through it, like the wings appear several times throughout the menu and your not sure what the best deal is unless you sit there and really read through it and do a price comparison.
You get two separate receipts for the drinks and for the food so they swipe your card twice or you have to pay cash… TWICE. Seems like an internal problem that they should work out, not pass along to customers.

We ordered a day early to prepare for Super Bowl and asked for delivery at 5pm to anticipate issues. 3 hrs later, our order comes half fulfilled and cold.
Needlessly to say I was not thrilled about this, especially as this is probably the place’s big day (staff up, anyone?). That said, I did call the next day (couldn’t get through during SB) and the manager was more than decent. He offered a refund (expected) but also a credit equal to this amount for the misunderstanding. I have not seen a manager preemptively go above like this in quite a while. I’ve since used the credit and the food — wings, salads, chili are all quite solid. Not five star but say 3 – 4 star. And the food was delivered in under 20 minutes each time.
Needless to say this review has several data points in it, but I do respect a place that cares to actively retain its customers (in a high overhead NY scene) and has pretty good food. My recommendation: order when your party doesn’t depend on it and I think you’ll be satisfied with the food and service.

I ordered wings for the superbowl. They raised their prices, what a great superbowl special. 20 wings are usually $ 20 but they raised the price to $ 25. Thanks people.
I had ordered half mild, half pepper and salt, it was ok. The celery and carrot sticks that came with the wings were very limp. The celery looked as if it was about to die. The carrots tasted kinda disgusting. Thankfully I dunked everything in the blue cheese dip so it was less horrible.

So many of the other reviewers mentioned how rude the staff was but I figured «Hey, I’m a nice girl. Nobody has any reason to be rude to me» … And I’ve never been so wrong in my life!
I didn’t know how the menu worked with all the combo options. I was verbally assaulted for asking questions. He was so rude and it wasn’t even busy for him to want to deal with other customers…
Finally I ordered and he over charged me saying that the prices changed. Not to mention I ordered 6 wings but when I got home there were only 5.
The waffle fries with chili and cheese were nasty. As if they reheated them, They were soggy and extremely greasy.
The best part of my meal was the beer I had at home!

Haven’t been here in a while but during my last experience the waitress sucked.
That’s the least of my worries though because I was here for the food. The combos they offer are pretty convenient and my fries/​wings were good. I have had better wings so I was somewhat disappointing but it wasn’t bad, just a tad overrated.

Wings were good but my bf ordered the seafood platter with fried flounder and scallop, it was not good. Very dry and flavorless. I wouldn’t recommend this place.
Quality was below average for average prices.
Service was a B.
Interior was very average, a B-.

Got a carry out order of 20 hot wings. Was there around 10:30 and no one else was ordering/​waiting.
Got my wings in 15min and it was awesome! Came with celery and carrots with 2 small tubs of blue cheese (which i don’t use/like…but just saying for those who do).
The wings were crispy and a right amount of sauce. piping hot even when I got home 30 min later. I couldn’t finish all 20 wings in one sitting … so reheated the leftovers in the oven the next day, it was equally delicious. :)
The bar it was located in was a bit shady… but it’s fine for take out.
