We’ve been here many times. Always excellent, the staff is great and fairly inexpensive for Japanese food. I guess that’s why it’s always crowded!

Busy, busy, busy! Waited 30 minutes for a table for 6 without reservations. Hostess was gracious and kept checking in with us. Had Spicy Girl, Godzilla, Happy Spider roll. They were supersized and great. Tempura shrimp bento box was yummy. Red Thai Curry had too much veggie and not enough chicken. Pork katsudon had a bit too much white sauce but was enjoyed anyway.

As far as sushi places go this one is pretty standard; nothing extraordinary but it gets the job done. Over priced for the small servings but you’d be hard pressed to get around this issue in midtown Manhattan(or anywhere in the city really). Overall a decent meal that won’t leave you with second thoughts, good or bad.

Now this was some good sushi and amazing service. I went as a group of three. We called at 7:30 and asked how long the wait would be at 8:30, and they were able to fit in reservations. We got there at 8:15 and they apologized for not seating us right away. We were early, they were definitely not late! We ordered eggplant, asparagus, and sweet potato tempura to start. Then, we shared the cloud 9, coconut shrimp, and one more roll that was the last one in the specials.(with shrimp tempura). It was amazing and a perfect amount. They constantly filled up our waters. Also, we asked for extra lemons and extra ginger and they were very prompt. Definitely will be returning!

Asuka sushi is pretty good if you are in need of a sushi fix(me everyday). They have a bunch of different rolls to choose from as well as a lunch menu. When I went, I ordered the hajiki salad and a bunch of rolls(avocado, tuna avocado, yellow tail, eel, and crab). I won’t go into depth about each roll because they are so generic and can be found at any sushi place. I will say however, that they all tasted very fresh. They all came in a large plate with ginger and wasabi. The hajiki salad was really good as well. Tasted fresh and it was not too sweet. The interior is modern but it has a cold feel to the restaurant. I went during lunch but I would assume it would be a better place to go at night. Nothing that stands out but definitely deserves a solid 4 stars. Will go back!

Yum!!! So impressed! Last minute seating available on a Saturday. Not too casual and not dressy. Amazing prices! Two people full for $ 50 the cloud 9 and toro rolls were great. Flavorful. And you can have them make the rolls with brown rice which is nice alternative. Can’t wait to come back and try the cucumber wrapped no rice rolls too! Delicious and easy in Chelsea.

Let’s be honest. The fish was not prepared right. You could taste it right away in every dish, we had Salmon, Shrimp, yellowtail, and eel, and something was off on every fish. Also, my girlfriend ordered a couple of things, and they never brought it out. So the service was pretty shotty. For the price, you can find better.

Best sushi in NYC, hands down. I frequent this place like I’m getting paid to eat there. It’s absolutely incredible. The fish is so fresh, the cocktails are delicious and the staff is friendly. One of the best tasting sushi I’ve had — always fresh, always incredible. I love the colorful lights on the walls, as well. It’s a nice atmosphere. Highly recommend,

This is hands down the best sushi restaurant in NYC. The dine in experience is absolutely wonderful, everyone is so friendly and quick to serve. The prices are unbeatable — so affordable for the amazing quality. Even the take out is excellent. I am THRILLED I found this gem of a restaurant :)

Went with a close friend. He had limited time, so took up a place on the bar while we waited for our name to be cleared off the waiting list for a table. While at the bar, we ordered food. When tables got cleared, we asked if we could move to them, and were denied because they have different billing systems for food ordered at the bar as opposed to at a table. We ordered the Spicy Girl and Flying Dragon. Spicy Girl was great. I didn’t like the other one too much. Food was good, but they lose out on service. Very crowded place on a Friday evening.

I’ve been to Asuka Sushi twice now for dinner. They have a pretty long happy hour which involves buy one get one free beer, cocktails, and sake. This translates to 3 – 4 dollar beer and 4 – 5 dollar cocktails which is not a bad deal for this area. The place generally gets pretty busy but I didn’t have a wait either time I went. The sushi is pretty good(not the best I’ve ever had, but not bad!). The service has always been friendly, fast, and efficient. If you are in the area, craving sushi, and want some reasonably priced drinks during happy hour, I would definitely check out Asuka Sushi.

I went here last couple weeks ago. Atmosphere in here was nice. I order beer supporo on happy hour buy one get one free. And I order fried calamari was so good. And I order SHrIMP DUMPLINGS $ 5 for 5pcs. so bad. They USEDUMPLING was Ajinomoto Brand(frozen Dumbling) you can buy any supermarket 33pcs pack only $ 7. Restaurant should make home made. Not just use frozen one. Meh … When I talk to waitresses I want to change it. Cost I don’t want frozen dumpling. The waitress toll me like. Dumplings it good. Cause ajinomoto is Japanese company. She so stupid unprofessional to answer customers. I not even eat. That why I would like to asking for so thing else. I don’t mind to pay more money. But please don’t give customers bad foods and Bad experience.

Trendy little sushi bar in Chelsea. The place has a very young, modern feel to it and its reflected in the type of patrons that frequent here, who tend to be young couples in their 20s and 30s. What I really love is how reasonable the prices are here, especially given the surrounding neighborhood. I ordered the Salmon Avocado roll for starters. The salmon was very fresh, and the presentation of the roll was just beautiful. Next up was the Shrimp Tempura roll with roe. It was sooooo good! Drizzled with spicy mayo and the fish eggs, it offered a nice combination of crispy and also creamy at the same time. I also ordered the fried shrimp. It was left on the fryer a bit too much for my preference, but it wasn’t bad. And for dessert I ordered the fried ice cream. The skin was perfectly crisp and yet somehow also airy, and amazingly even though the outside skin was piping hot, they still managed to keep the ice cream inside nice and cold :)

Have been here multiple times and have always enjoyed it! It’s got a dark trendy ambiance with a good amount of tables. The place is always packed on weekend nights, but they do take reservations so it always pays off to plan ahead. The only downside is that there’s very little space to stand while you’re waiting and it seems like you’re hovering over other people eating, which can be a little annoying. The food here is always really great. My favorite sushi rolls are the Chelsea roll and the crazy lobster, and the angry lobster roll. We also tried the Thai fried rice last night for the first time and it was delicious with just the right amount of spice. I asked for some spicy sauce on the side, which just ended up just being sriracha, but the dish had enough spice that I didn’t end up using it. All in all this is a great place for date night or small groups with a good ambiance and great food!

The only bad thing about this place is that since I discovered it, I haven’t even tried to find my Japanese restaurants! I LOVE iT! It’s always full; but somehow, there is always a place to sit with out waiting in line, nor feeling crowed. Fast and kind service. The TAKOYAKI balls are a must to try! Most off the entrees come with soup or salad. You can make your own at the bar buffet style, or the waitresses always ask if you want them to prepare it for you. My favorites: Vegetable soup Garlic eggplant Vegetable Gyoza

Cool atmosphere and good sushi. Grabbed a quick dinner after going to the gym and I wish I had ordered only sushi rather than the bento box. The bento box was okay but not really all that special in my opinion, the sushi however was really good. Not a bad place overall, it just can get a little crowded and hectic.

Great sushi at a decent price!!! Came on a Thursday night without a reservation and was able to be seated within 5 minutes. They had a nice make your own salad bar option that I started with. Then the maki combo(3 rolls) for 15 bucks was delicious. They also have rolls wrapped in cucumber which I have not seen often in the city which is a win in my book ! Finished off with the free ice cream if you check in on Unilocal which is a plus. I would def come back here !

We ordered delivery from them and I’d say it was pretty decent. 3.5 stars… I would probably stick with the sushi rolls, etc. and maybe not go too, too much into their other Japanese items(like we did). That said, we enjoyed the shrimp tempura and I personally enjoyed the Aged tofu(though my friend didn’t– said it was too sour). The miso soup is wonderful. We weren’t really into their pork katsu or chicken teriyaki. But, all-in-all a decent meal. Like I said, stick to the raw things and you should be fine.

I was immediately enamored with the staff at Asuka Sushi because they were already pushing two tops together as our party of six entered the restaurant. I love people who are on top of things. We were seated in seconds. Service continued to be excellent throughout our meal, including wipe down of the table in between items. Thank you very much. Foodwise, Asuka was a very good sushi place. We were there for lunch, and I was so impressed with the number of lunch special deals. You can easily get a yummy combination platter of a few rolls plus soup and salad, or a sushi or sashimi chef choice type deal for under $ 20. Quite a steal for the amount of food you get. The salad was interesting to me as well. You can either have your server bring you a salad or get up and make your own salad from the salad bar. We had one person choose each option at our table and I have to say, make your own is the way to go. The salad my friend brought back looked amazing. The one that was served to my other friend who chose the lazy route was substantially less impressive. Most of our friends went for the budget-friendly lunch combo option. But you know… we can’t help ourselves when good sushi is involved. We ordered up as if we were there for dinner. We got the Triple Toro roll, which was great if you are a tuna person. We got the Cloud 9 roll, which was my favorite, and was so rich and decadent and contained just a few perfectly placed salmon eggs in each roll. It was over the top yummy. If I ever eat here alone I’m ordering two of those and calling it a day. We got some salmon-avocado handrolls, which were packed with salmon and avocado — much more than at most sushi places. And we got some nigiri, which were beautiful and buttery. No complaints, all delicious. Really, really solid sushi place. We did also get the age tofu, which I think I would skip next time. I was expecting more of a broth with fried tofu squares in it, but this was more like fried tofu with a dipping sauce. Good but not extraordinary. My only complaint is that upon reviewing our bill, this turns out to be one of those places that charges you for each glass of soda you consume — no free refills. Seems a bit petty and is a pet peeve of mine. Next time we’ll know. Prices were in line with what you’d expect at a good sushi place — we dropped $ 100+ for three of us.

What a place for lunch special. Location: I did actually pass this place few times while I was wondering the pathway between trader joes’ and my apt. It looked like it was americanized sushi place. Why? I cannot explain, let’s just make it as a six-sense thing(on food) I ordered through seamless. Thanks, it’s free delivery. Thanks, it’s menu containing so many interesting items. Thanks, I was not in a mood of tasting rather than feed my starvation. I had their miso soup and tuna roll as well as salmon roll. It was OKAY. I am not trying to picky. For 11 dollars, it is a good deal for lunch. But I was not impressed. The miso soup is good but lack of balance. The sushi roll was good and fresh but not fancy. What should I expect? IDK, but it is a go-to place if you are very hungry and nothing else comes to your mind. I would give 3.5 stars.

Stopped in for a quick lunch and really enjoyed it. The lunch specials menu is extensive and have Thai curries in addition to rolls. The sushi rolls were fresh and delicious, the salad was crisp and the bento box was a great value w good shumai and great rice. I also liked the décor with the led lighting and a beautiful bar, very good value for the money, nothing super expensive, a nice casual place.

We ordered the Sashimi & Sushi Combo for two. All the sashimi cuts(faves here: white tuna, mackerel… Both melt in your mouth) were extremely fresh and the rice for the nigiri and dragon roll was perfect. Happy to say we’ve found another sushi joint we’ll probably frequent in the future! The extremely clean DIY salad bar was a nice touch. Good way to get your veg in for the day. Everything about it was great – especially the orangey ginger dressing. Mmm…

Friday night. Table for 2, 20 minute wait. Greeted immediately and asked if I had reservations.(Last minute decision so we didn’t.) It’s great that reservations are possible! There’s an open salad bar if you order an entrée that includes salad. A nice little touch with two kinds of fresh lettuce, many toppings, and dressings. They even had grape leaves and olives! Salad bar vegetables were fresh and clean. –sushi deluxe $ 22 Fish was fresh and rice was a little warm. It was plenty of food for one in addition to the salad. The waitress said its 9 pieces of chef’s special. Mine had two salmon, two tuna, two white fish, one white tuna, one Spanish mackerel, one yellowtail. Plus a California roll which was really good too! Good proportions of the crab, avocado, and cucumber, not overpowered by rice. Forgot to check in on Unilocal for free ice cream! And also their cocktails looked great($ 9.) I’ll have to try them next time!

I went to this resturant with my girlfriend on christmas day as we both were craving for some sushi! First of all, the appetizers that we got were fried calamari and shrimp sumai! The calamari were okay! Nothing too fascinating about them. I felt as if It could have been better if they provided it with sweet chilli sauce rather than the one they served it with! Second of all, the shrimp sumai was very disappointing! It tasted as if they did it in a hurry because it was a bit too chewy and fell apart in my mouth! 1⁄5 stars for the shrimp sumai! On main course we ordered 3 rolls. 1 spicy girl : — amazing flavor combinations! The crunch with the soft fish and the rice was a treat! 1 snow white: — we tried that because it kind of stood out from the rest! The mixture of sweet and savory was something that we weren’t a fan of. 1 salmon skin roll: — the best salmon skin roll i have ever had! Hands down! On desserts we had the chocolate soufflé and the green tea mille crêpe cake. They were both phenomenal however, I seem to believe that the crêpe cake is from Lady M. Because it is 20 layers(same as lady M), green tea flavor(also lady M), priced at $ 8(likewise as lady M) Despite all these the place was pretty nice and would definitely recommend!

We went to this place on Christmas day because we were craving for some sushi. We ordered Snow White Roll, Spicy Girl roll, Salmon skin hand roll, fried calamari, shrimp shumai for appi and entrée. The Snow white roll was very light and was bland for my taste, however, I can feel the ocean in my mouth. Although, it was not worth the money I paid for. The spicy girl roll was however pleasantly worth it. The crunch with the raw fish was a great combination! The appetizer was moderate. The calamari doesn’t taste fresh and the shrimp shumai felt packaged. It was not worth the« Unilocal highlights». Overall, I felt as if this is one of those places in manhattan where you take your significant other when you’re comfortable around them rather than during the early stage, because thats the vibe that we got! This place honestly is not that special, although the service was great! And kudos to being open on the holidays, I believe you can find sushi restaurants like these anywhere.

This place is a gem because not only are the prices very affordable for the great quality of sushi, but there are really cool vibes inside. I am queen of ordering chirashi and sashimi when I go out for dinner, I’m not about getting basic rolls, and the chirashi dish that I ordered from Asuka did not disappoint. The entrees came with an option to do the salad bar which I have never seen before at a sushi restaurant. My friends ordered rolls and were really satisfied with them. The service was attentive and my overall experience was good.

I discovered Asuka Sushi after working up an appetite from shopping around the area. The décor is homey and seems like a typical restaurant. However, I was extremely surprised and pleased with my experience here. Sushi — as for rolls, the Panko roll is amazing! It contains crispy fried eel, mango, avocado, perfected with eel sauce and mayo. I would highly recommend this to be one of the dishes you order. On the other hand, I would not recommend the Triple Toro roll as I feel tasted rather bland with the abundance of cucumbers and asparagus. Sashimi — the chef special was amazing!!! The day I went, the chef chose ikura, uni, Octopus, various bellies, etc. The ikura was great and the uni was amazing!!! It has a sweet taste to it and tastes so good. If I go back next time, I’ll be sure to order more uni a la carte. Service — everyone here was very attentive. The waitress listened to the order and made suggestions that made for a better deal and meal. They also kept refilling the water! 5 stars!

This was my go to sushi place until the recent delivery problem we had. We made an order on seamless and called to confirm. The order was supposed to take 30⁄40 min. We ordered right before the dinner rush. 90 minutes later we are still waiting for our food. We didn’t order anything special that needs lots of time. Basic California roll, spicy tuna, and vegetable roll. We called multiple times and they told us the Order was on its way. Apparently it’s still on its way. We even offered picking it up since we live around the corner and they insisted it was on its way. Do not order delivery from here.

Came on a wed night, place was crowded but no wait. Was impressed with the overall menu variety. Tons of different rolls, sashimi, bento boxes, teriyaki meals and loads of different appetizers. For apps we had miso soup and beef negmaki, both were very flavorful. My boyfriend is trying to be healthier so he ordered the rolls that they rolled in cucumber. He got spicy tuna and lobster salad. I got one of the special rolls called the spicy lobster or something. It had shrimp tempura, wasabi poached lobster, cucumber, avocado and jalapeño. It was not as spicy as I was expecting but still really good. Additional highlights we checked in on Unilocal and got free ice cream. Also on weds its BOGO drinks on house wine, hit sake and house cocktails. Our service was also very attentive. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is it was quite warm inside and a bit tight on space.

I was CRAVING sushi and this came up on seamless as one of the first choices. Made my decision quick and easy. I ordered what I always order at sushi places: Eel Avocado Maki Roll and Spicy Salmon Maki Roll, and one random Yellowtail Avocado Maki Roll. The sushi was very good! I almost didn’t have enough soy sauce(although I might be a soy sauce over user so maybe I’m not the best judge of that), but that’s really my only complaint. This will probably become my go-to sushi takeout place.

Asuka is your run of the mill sushi restaurant, owned and run by a Chinese couple. It’s just 2 blocks away from the High Line on 23rd street, so the restaurant is almost always packed with tourists and locals alike. They have amazing Happy Hour drink deals, every day of the week, from 5PM-8PM. Their Happy Hour drink menu includes everything from bottled beer, wine, and cocktails. We were asked to move tables twice, on two separate occasions, because they wanted to move our party of 2 – 3 to a smaller table, to seat a bigger party of 4 – 5 people that walked in 5 – 10 minutes after we were seated. NOTCOOL, ASUKA. I gave the boss lady a difficult time the second time this happened, but she wasn’t in the slightest bit apoletic. It was a waste of my time to even bring it up. Their service is decent. And the food comes out quickly. Asuka also has a very eclectic entrée menu with Pad Thai, fried rice, and pan-fried Yaki noodles. DONOTGETTHEIRYAKIUDONNOODLES. It is disgusting. Each entrée, not including sushi rolls and sashimi, comes with an option of soup or salad. If you opt for the salad, you have access to their unlimited salad bar. Their sashimi, sushi, and hand rolls are better than their entrees. I love their Panko Eel roll. Inside, are mango slices and avocado. On top is a panko fried eel.

So shocked to find this place while exploring Chelsea! An inexpensive but still very classy sushi spot in NYC– unheard of! Not only was the food inexpensive and the ambiance great, but we also experienced some of the best service ever. The waiters and waitresses immediately greeted us and showed us to our table. They even allowed us to charge our cellphones behind the bar!(I hope this doesn’t sound tacky, but our phones were all about to die and we needed a charge before our train rides home– Incredibly grateful that they accommodated us). The experience started off with a waiter bringing us hot towels and our menus. There were so many awesome sounding options! I had no idea what I wanted to order! The waitress was super patient and gave us plenty of time. We ended up starting the meal with an order of edamame. My boyfriend, who normally isn’t an edamame fan, really like Asuka’s. For our entrees, my boyfriend ordered chicken ramen which came with a side salad, my friend ordered a shrimp tempura roll and a dragon roll, and I ordered a salmon jalapeño roll and a Cloud Nine roll. The food came out super quick, and it was all amazing! Super fresh fish! The mix of ingredients worked perfectly on all rolls. The BF absolutely loved his ramen. It was super filling for him too! He ended up taking home half of it. His salad was also really tasty. Their ginger dressing is so good! Throughout the meal we were doted on by the wait staff. I really felt appreciated dining here. Everyone went above and beyond. I really wish I could transplant Asuka down to Fort Lauderdale!

Fast schon besorgt um mein Wohl wurde die Bestellung von«Chef’s Sushi» vorsichtig hinterfragt.
