Exactly like the other review, I too experienced 3 – 3 ½ hour wait times for my appointment. At one point recently I did walk out and notified the desk staff that«I’m leaving and am never coming back». The next day I received a call from one of the residents who explained that Penny Asbell was backed up that day and that I should come back in. I explained that this went on for years and I refused to be treated like that ever again. I did say that I would come back if the resident, in her opinion, honestly thought that Dr Asbell would wait in a waiting room 3 ½ hours after her scheduled appointment to see a doctor. Needless to write, I found another doctor that treats me with respect. Adiós…

Dr. Asbell is a great doctor. But I would suggest you find someone else. Every time I went to see her I waited a minimum of 3 hours after my scheduled appointment time before I saw her. It wasn’t just an occasional long wait. It was at least 3 hours EVERYTIME. The staff were horrible to deal with which didn’t help either, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they are just exhausted from dealing with angry patients everyday who can’t figure out why they are asked to wait so long. When I asked why I was waiting so long the answer amounted to «just deal with it, this is how it is everyday». When I did see Dr. Asbell, she was obviously an expert and not only did I trust what she had to say, but she explained why she was recommending everything. But how can you rely on a doctor that you have to wait 3 hours to see for every appointment? Besides that, when they tried to fit me with hard contacts, they somehow managed to take months to do to get the contacts in and wouldn’t return my calls. I had to come to the office and nag them in person to get any answers. Man, I almost forgot how awful that experience was. Check my other reviews if you want to see the other ophthalmologist I eventually went to, who is also an amazing doctor but doesn’t make your life hell to see him.
