Area Kicks and Cuts

They were so nice here about a return. I even lost the receipt because my wallet got stolen and the two women who work there were SO helpful and nice about finding the money and giving me my full credit. I bought adorable clothes for my 10 month old on sale. Nice quality cotton and hip style for babies and kids. Highly recommend this place. One day when my baby finally grows hair, I will definitely come by for a cut!

As others have stated the customer service here is atrocious. I’d been a few times without being greeted or helped but only decided to write this review after my experience this evening; I came here to get some tights for an event we have tomorrow and as I’m walking up I see the woman/​girl working at the store, closing the door and walking away and then saw a note on the door that said «be right back». I decided to wait and after almost 15 minutes I gave up and as I start walking away I see the girl sitting on the bench in front of the corner deli with a bag of food chatting on her cell phone without a care in the world. I will never return to this sad excuse for a business. Seriously whoever owns this place for the love of god hire some half decent employees!

THE WORST SERVICE AND EMPLOYEES EVER. AVOID. It’s too bad they have a great shoe & clothing selection. Went in today with a friend who was trying to get a box that was up on high shelf and dude behind counter didn’t offer to assist (so I helped her). Then he was extremely rude to me because my son started to tear a bit of package on a play doh toy. Seriously hire some decent people who will treat customers well. We sure spend enough $ at your store.

This business would be soaring if 1.) they kept a better stock of shoes (for some reason, they got rid of the wide selection they used to have and now carry mostly boots and sneakers). And of course, 2.) the customer service is just awful – widely known in the neighborhood and online as being atrocious and unkind. The clerks can’t be bothered; they have very, very little interest in helping their customers. I’ve arrived frazzled, with a toddler in tow, and had to manage everything – sizing, finding the right model, etc etc.
Their competition on Court Street is far, far nicer. My only complaint about that shop is that they never seem to have the sizes we need and quite a limited selection.
My request: can someone ***please*** open up a kids’ shoe shop in our neighborhood that actually delivers for the gazillions of parents here? We’d love: friendly service, reasonable prices, and a wide selection of shoes that are actually available in most sizes.

I had a very good experience with this store. I called them for an item they took the trouble to find the size I needed in the stock room. Called me back. Set it aside for pick up and were very prompt and curious when I came to pick it up. HOWEVER ONE THING TO KNOW IS THAT THEY DO NOT GIVE

They have a really good selection of shoes but I felt like the woman working would have rather been any where else but at the store. Super rude. I felt like I was inconveniencing her by asking her about a shoe size. Two thumbs down!!!

the worst service! stay away! I came in to buy some first walker shoes for my baby and there was one other customer and 1 person working. I went ahead and tried a bunch of shoes on ourselves for 15 minutes and the sales person didn’t even acknowledge us or even say hi or anything! complete fail! awful place!
do yourself a favor and go one block over to Running Wild shoes for excellent service! Actually… employees and owners of Area, you should go there too for a lesson in how to run a business!
