Have Been going to Angelo’s for over 20 years. Has always been great. Went there yesterday and was totally disappointed. The waiter took my order as I was pointing to the entre on the menu. When the meals came he brought out a totally different entre(rabbit). When I told him that it wasnt what I ordered, he said yes it was, put it in front of me and walked away. We never saw him again until he brought the check. Totally rude.

Took the #6 subway from midtown to Spring Street to find Angelo’s open at 10:30 at night. We were seated promptly near the bar with about 15 – 20 other individuals in the restaurant at that hour. Have to say, there aren’t a whole lot of happy faces at this place. The young fellow refilling the water glasses was the only staff that was friendly. The food. We ordered the mussels, fried zucchini, manicotti, and veal saltimbocca. All were good, not great. This plus the miserable crew = three stars.

All I can say is — COCKROACH. Right on the wall behind my boyfriend’s head. It was the size of my hand. Goodbye. (The waiters who were mostly absent the entire 30 min there, hurriedly went after that«thing» and carried him away in their white linen napkin. So much for the Angelo’s my friends all told me was an amazing Italian spot with excellent service and food. Guess things change after 15 years.)

The Legendary Angelo’s has been around since 1902! And it is absolutely awesome, great food, great atmosphere, great menu selection. One of the best on Mulberry St, but definitely not cheap, actually rather expensive. But worth it. They have a great red marinara sauce, and the veal marsala was excellent. While we were there, a table full of old time mobsters sat down next to us, one looked like the boss with a Tony Soprano looking shirt on. Everyone in the place was Italian, what a great experience!

My friend and I were walking around and decided to try Angelos. We ordered sparkling water which was flat and you can tell they just reused the bottles. We ordered calamari, it barely covered up the plate and as we left we saw another customer who had double the calamari. We also ordered Ravioli Lobster and the meatball, they were overcooked and it was just bad. The whole time my friend and I were there we felt as if they were treating us differently because we were younger than the other customers, the waiters treated the table next to us better.

Angelo’s is a family favorite and must-go-to every time we come to NYC. They have the best rigatoni vodka I’ve ever had, and that’s saying something coming from a large Italian family. We know good Italian, and Angelo’s is the real deal. I also appreciate how the staff is always so friendly and never pushy. I’ve never been accosted by anyone from the restaurant while walking by to come eat there like many of restaurants do in Little Italy. I just can’t recommend Angelo’s enough!

This place gets packed and I can see why. The chicken parm I had was really good & we got great service. Granted I was out with a local who knew people here so that could have had some influence. But I enjoyed the experience & it’s a nice place. Definitely a great date night spot if you can get a table.

I had heard great things about this Little Italy establishment but was underwhelmed with the food overall. The restaurant was fairly busy when we were there on a Friday night, only waited around 5 – 10 minutes for a table in the very back of the restaurant. It definitely has the authentic Italian restaurant service which is no frills, no friendly chit chat, just straight to the point take your order, bring your food and refill the water glass. Depends on your preference whether or not you like the authenticity, but I will give them some credit for that because that’s exactly how restaurant service is in Italy. The stuffed artichoke was good and was a big serving size. The fried mozzarella was bland and flavorless with a weird flour breading on it – take my advice and pass on it. The chicken parm was good, but nothing special. I’ve definitely had better. The gnocchi was good and a decent size entrée if you’re in the pasta mood. The sauce was light and paired well with it. The wine was way overpriced and not any special types either. The half bottle of Chianti we got was the same one you can get at the store for less than $ 20 for a whole bottle and they were charging $ 30+ for a half bottle. If you want some authenticity, then maybe consider this place but if you primarily want great food, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.

Not worth the hype! Had a reservation for an 8pm, didn’t get seated before 9. Service was just ok. There are tons of other Italian restaurants that are better than this(heck even in NJ lol)… Calamari is awfully chewy, food seemed like something I would cook myself! The only one dish out of 6 that was good: meatballs. Price/quality not there!

This place is living on it’s past glory. Now the food is blah, the waiters are indifferent. This is strictly for tourists that have no clue.

Very fast, polite service. Interior is beautiful. This is a must for NYC and has been open over 100 years. I had the swordfish, which was excellent. My friend’s veal could have been a bit more tender, but the sauce was amazing. The bread was delicious. Veggies and sides were great. Not pricey at all. My friend had the cheesecake, which was very fluffy and unique. It was the soft-type cheesecake as opposed to the thick and creamy kind. Only comment is my vegetables seemed a bit on the cold side. Otherwise excellent experience and I will be back for sure.

4 of my friends and I came to Angelos on a Friday night at 7:30(we had a reservation). We waited 10 – 15 for a table, which is funny because a touristy family of 5 walked in and asked to be seated(they didn’t have a reservation) and were also told that it would be a 10 – 15 minute wait and that they could sit by the bar. So people with a reservation they made 1 week ago and people who strolled right in from the street had the same wait time? Interesting. We sat down and were served a basket of bread that was cold and ½ of the pieces were burned. When I say burned I’m not just talking about some little spots of charred crust here and there. I’m talking like 100% smoky black on the crust of ½ of the 9 – 10 bread pieces. That didn’t even bother me that much because as a bread lover I will basically eat any bread that is put in front of me. We looked over at the table beside us(4 – 5 white business men in their 30s-50s in full suits) and they had a basket of B E A U T I F U L L Y baked bread. Guys, I’m talking like looking at a Toyota corolla(our bread) that has been in 45 accidents and then looking at a shiny Maserati(their bread). Interesting. My friend asked to have vinegar to mix with our olive oil so that our bread dipping experience could be enhanced. The vinegar was promised, but was never brought to our table. I ordered the gnocchi and requested that it be with red sauce because I thought that would be a possible substitution to the pesto sauce. My waiter nodded and acknowledged my order and proceeded to write it down. When he came back with all of our food I noticed that my gnocchi was with pesto sauce and I, by default, am always inclined to just take the food as it is because I hate being that person who points out an order that was made wrong. That day I was feeling brave and also very desperate for some red sauce that I nicely asked him if I could have the gnocchi with red sauce instead of pesto like I had asked. He proceeded to say 4 sentences of something that none of my friends could make-out or understand. Then he said clarified and said something along the lines of the fact that the dish can only be made with pesto sauce. I said okay, that’s fine I’ll just eat the gnocchi with pesto then. He walked away without any«would you like something else off of the menu» or «i’m sorry i must’ve missed that you had asked for red sauce in the first place and should’ve told you that we only do this dish with pesto sauce.» Interesting. My friends all rated their food: gnocchi with pesto: 6 garlic pasta: 7 spicy pasta with seafood: 7 i forgot what it’s called but it’s wrapped like a burrito and has beef and spinach in it and tastes like chef boyardee: 8

Going to New York? Then a must do is go shop on Canal street and buy a bunch of knock off watches and purses. Great quality for even better prices! A true NY experience to buy a fake Rolex from a guy’s coat . While in the area walk into little Italy for some of the best Italian food anywhere at Angelos. Get the two meatballs for an appetizer then be sure to order the gnocchi with pesto. Probably the best in America. Finish with cheesecake and a latte. Done! Great NY day!

The food was just not good. Every dish was too saucy. The vegetables tasted bad, as in rotten. 2 of our 4 meals were just plain bad. The 3rd person enjoyed her meal but got diarrhea after from the food. It seemed to me that this place was at this point relying on its name and location in Little Italy and not the quality of the food. I strongly recommend going somewhere else unless it is something on your bucket list to try this restaurant in Little Italy, but the food was just plain not good. New York has a lot better food to offer. Finally, one thing that really annoys me and I understand this is an idiosyncrasy that I have, was when I asked our waiter what the most popular dish was, he said everything is good and could not make a recommendation about what the most popular dish was. That really pisses me off.

After a game at the Barclays center, February 52016, my cousin, mother and I wanted to go to Little Italy to have dinner. I called ahead and was informed the kitchen closes at 10:30pm. We made it right in time and the wait staff assisted my mother from her wheelchair to a front table. Our food was ok, the service was wonderful. Being from Sacramento, CA and my cousin from Baltimore, MD., we were happy to have chosen this spot for our«Little Italy» dining spot. Thanks again for the ambiance and allowing us to be one of the last served for the night.

You really never know what you’ll get in Little Italy — everywhere from high to low end in terms of quality, but Angelo’s is definitely on the high end. I was here with a group of 20 and we couldn’t have had a better experience from the wait staff to the food. For starters, our waiter was hilarious. I can’t remember his name but he was straight out of a movie and couldn’t have been nicer to our large group. Per his suggestion, we got platters of meats and cheeses for the table and holy heck was everything on that plate yummy! For my meal I got the Pappardelle Campagnole with mushrooms and tomatoes. The sauce was among the best I’ve had in NYC and the pasta tasted truly homemade. Really like this place a lot!

Authentic little Italy. Food is really good. The restaurant is very small and your packed in so tight that it’s uncomfortable at times. I ordered a veal chop with vinaigrette peppers, I will say it was amazing cooked perfectly. The only reason there’s not four stars is they were out of a lot of things.

one of my first meals ever in little italy and it was not bad. place was moderately full on a random tuesday evening, no trouble getting a table. Oh and classic white coat service here. they have an extensive wine list, but not sure how well its kept in stock as it took us 3 tries before we could find an affordable bottle of red that they had on hand. for apps we ordered the meatballs and grilled mozzarella with sundried tomatoes and crimini mushrooms, these were both delicious! the sundried tomatoes added a nice saltiness to the grilled mozz and the meatballs were a generous size. for entrees i got the veal parm and my bf got the seafood special in a spicy red cream sauce. he loved his entrée, but wished it was spicier and had to asked for crushed red pepper. mine was ok, it came out quite oily and the veal had a metallic taste to it. i also ordered a side of spaghetti since the entrée originally came with some sort of veggie mishmash(something resembling collard greens?) and it was the highlight of my meal. so hot and fresh with an amazing sauce(you can buy the sauce jarred on premise). the portions here are large, we were already so full from appetizers and bread that we both ended up taking more than half of our entrees home for later. overall would reco to friends visiting, but will keep looking for other italian in the city as it was a bit pricey.

I went on a Sat night during the San Gennero Festival so naturally it was packed. The manager took us to the bar and sat us there and took care of us immediately. I was very impressed with the service and 100% would go back since the food was tasty and the portions were beyond generous. I had the bolognese and literally was in a food coma. Between that and the wine I was the happiest drunk little meatball in the restaurant.

Très bonne adresse à New York
