A lovely spot! I’m a big fan of their cakes, and this place has nice and cozy atmosphere to enjoy the desserts. They have about 7 small round tables and bar of 3 seatings. Also, they have their own bathroom– which the Hell’s kitchen branch doesn’t. All the cakes are definitely worth trying, my favorite is Carrot, Monkey, and German chocolate(a piece $ 5.25, quite generous portion). What I like the most about their cakes is they are not too sweet. The buttercream icing looks very heavy but they are not insanely greasy or sugary. I always go with Apple cider($ 2.5 per cup) – highly recommended!

Honestly not impressed with the desserts here. The vanilla cake with pink frosting was really good, but everything else we tried was very dry and lacked flavor — brownie, chocolate almond croissant, black and white cookie, and olive oil cake. Maybe the loafs are better

Was so excited to try Amy’s scone after reading rave reviews, but was largely disappointed. I ordered the mixed berry cream scone, which was puny in size — definitely did not have the bulging center I was hoping for. It was a bit too sweet for my taste, and didn’t have much of a salty contrast in flavor dynamic. In terms of texture, I was hoping for more density; the scone was weak and crumbly. I will say that the staff is friendly, and there is a wifi code on the receipt — a nice place to have a treat and get some work done!

Cozy, sunny coffee and pastry/breakfast spot centrally located in the West Village. There are a half dozen tables for 2. Service isn’t the most inspiring but efficient enough. I tried the freshly squeezed lemonade, which was a delight-super refreshing and just the right amount of sour versus sweet. Good for a quick bite, takeout, or conversation with another person!

The oft-mentioned kitchen sink cookie did not look good at all, so went with the $ 3.25 sticky bun and it was very good. Service could’ve been better, as the staffer seemed quite bothered and unhappy with the whole situation… maybe it was that flailing loyalty program.

My wife. and I stopped by after a food, tour that we were on ended. We were still a bit pekish so we stopped by for a quick bite before heading our hotel. Beautiful pleas small but very inviting. Nice selection of sandwiches. I ordered a ham and butter and a grilled cheese. I picked up some drinks and a pistachio bread stick. Wow! All were awesome but the pistachio such was the best. E have fallen in love with Greenwich Village after our food tour. This place was also amazing.

I remember the first time I brought home from Amy’s Bread a golden raisin and fennel seed loaf. It was on a Saturday, we sliced it and each took a bite. Then the screaming started, OMG was said a lot. Amy’s was welcomed in NYC. From their breads, cookies, cakes and pies, Amy’s Bread was our favorite bakery in Hells Kitchen. Somehow they slipped in a small bakery on Bleeker St. Walking in, its a cozy spot to have a kitchen sink cookie before you bring home a loaf of bread. I see at the register, buy a gift card and stop at all three locations. You’ll get money back! (Wheels turning) Gimme a $ 30 card! I bought some items like Amy’s special Black and White Cookie as well as a bag of their biscotti. Mmmm mm good! Amy’s Bread has great baked goods as well as unique breads. It’s a must stop if you’re in the area

Only had a quick stop for a hot chocolate and a specialty bread but it was great. The hot chocolate was deep and rich like a bakers chocolate and the bread was satisfying. Wonderful for a break on a chilly day.

Had the Carrot cake — can not knock the portion sizes(huge) and cake was good. I had higher expectations of the cake being truly out of this world however… it wasn’t, it was very good. Polite service, good staff.

Dropped into the shop and ordered a 6 inch monkey cake on Tuesday for my girlfriend’s birthday, picked it up on Friday. Ordering was smooth and easy, the staff are super friendly. They piped a message onto the cake for free. But GOODLORD the cake is good. Really good. Easily one of the best cakes I have ever eaten. The banana/pineapple/pecan mix with cream cheese icing is something else, if you like carrot cakes and similar, I strongly recommend.

We went there because Unilocal had them listed as having gluten free items. They had 4 item available. Went with Donna(regular Unilocaled) and she was not pleased. Said her snack was average at best and would not go back. There regular items did look very interesting and I know they are all over the city. Will try them again.

Not really impressed as I thought they would have more gluten free products to offer. I did try the raspberry tart which I thought was just ok. It really fell apart and I didn’t feel it warranted $ 6.50. The other non gluten items looked very good and it was a busy place so I’m sure it is good. All gluten free items are mixed in with regular flour based foods. They have tables to eat at and sell coffee.

Visited with a friend on a weekend evening. I ordered a slice of the lemon Mousseline(like Hollandaise) cake($ 5). Pretty good deal. It was a hearty slice(my friend and I shared) and quite impressive in flavor. Lots of citrus but not overpowering. Moist, but not too sugary. For sure one of the best cakes I’ve had in the city. The shop had a steady stream of customers, but there were still free tables(maybe around ten total?). The staff didn’t rush us out, so we stayed and chatted for a bit. Nice place to chill and satisfy your sweet tooth.

I love the chocolate chip cookies and the ‘Saturday Pizza’. Next time I will try the peach pie which looked outstanding.

Great place for breakfast! Not so many tables but enough to sit and watch people on the street. The fresh orange juice is delicious and the sticky bun too, even several hours after buying it. The mix between cinnamon and nuts is perfect!

We stopped by here in the afternoon to pick up a baguette. One of us saw the red velvet cupcake & decide to try it out. The place is small but pretty comfy to sit, have a conversation with a friend, or just to have a coffee. When we were there, the place wasn’t busy. The service was quick. The staff were polite. As for the baguette, it’s good if you’re planning to eat it on the same day you get them. If you’re going to eat it the next day, it might be best to put it in the oven for few minutes. If not, the baguette gets real hard, not a good idea to have it with a butter or jam. The red velvet cupcake is just good, not too sweet, but not great. We’ve had better red velvet cupcake elsewhere. The French baguette is $ 2.95& the red velvet cupcake is also $ 2.95. Overall, we think this place is good if you want to just sit, have a cup of coffee. The interior is bright. If you are nearby, it’s worth stopping by.

This location is in a cute area of the West Village. There is seating for about 15 people inside. You order at the counter and they give you the food when it is ready. I had the coconut cake, which was just ok. It was $ 4.95. I have had better flavored coconut cake elsewhere. I would not get it again. The chocolate chip cookie was salty. It was soft and full of chocolate chip cookies. It tasted like good ingredients went into making it, but too much salt for me. They have a single restroom for customers. They will give you a free cup of ice water. There are a few electric plugs on the wall by some tables you can use to charge your phone.

This place is an absolute gem! From its corner location that is great for people watching to its amazing baked goods this place is worth the frequent trips if you live nearby! The coffee was smooth and went well with the pink frosting cake I ordered! All their food tastes home baked and fresh and they offer a variety of options of both sweet and savory. It’s an adorable café and I will definitely be coming back!

The Quick: Great place to people watch with a reasonably priced cup of coffee and delicious pastries. The Details: I recommend the chocolate croissant– so buttery and fresh. The cupcakes are also incredible and at only $ 2.50 they give some of the better known cupcake shops a run for their money!

Another reason to love NY, especially as a commuter. This place saved me when my mom old me last minute that I’d be in charge of dessert for thanksgiving. I ordered a 9 inch coconut cake and the guy over the phone was über nice about calling in last minute and assured me that coconut was a popular flavor and that my family would love it — that’s right. I ordered a cake I’ve never tried before based off of Unilocal reviews and a coworker’s opinion! Ah! The cake was indeed delicious. It had that coconut flavor(and flakes on the outside) without being too artificial or cloyingly sweet. It was a hit! I stopped in for a slice of carrot cake to bring home and boyfriend and I were surprised at how«cake-y» and moist it was. the cake was super moist and soft, not like other carrot cakes that tend to be dry and bread-y. The cream cheese(or was it a mix of cream cheese and butter cream???) frosting was also really nice because, again, it wasn’t cloyingly sweet. For this trip, I also brought home a coconut dram bar. it was delicious, but also rich, so I we literally split it into more reasonable bites and ate over a period of two day rather than all at once. I bought a ham and swiss quiche this morning, and it is delicious. It tastes more of eggs and cheese. The ham didn’t stand out, but whatever, I like a good quiche. My only issue might be that it was fairly small for $ 5.50. The cakes and sweets seemed to have been reasonably priced(considering that it *is* a bakery in the West Village), but the price of the quiche was little… steep for me. It was tasty, but I won’t be making it breakfast staple! Amy’s Bread also serves delicious *strong* hot coffee. I wish their iced coffee was as strong, but its also not too weak, so I’ll live. I say give this place a try — the sweets and fancy breads are fairly priced and are delicious.
