I’m a major depressive. Afters years of feeling down/depressed and not accepting any psychological treatment/professional evaluation, I decided to allow a clinician of some sort to treat me. Alicia C. Sainer was inevitably chosen to tend to me, and was awful, unprofessional, a liar, cheat, and did nothing to aid me in my psychological recovery in my opinion. I ended up wasting my time attending her sessions, and wish they never would have occurred. I call her unprofessional/awful as her sessions were always awkward. She never took notes of what was being said/going on, seemed disinterested most of the time, and was never able to recant anything told to her during a previous session/during a same-day session. She would lie often by claiming she’d cover any topics/subjects I’d like during a session/during a future session, but when the time came to do so would flake and deny any responsibility. Her first session had to be the most awkward. During the entire session she spent her time scouring for insurance claim information, and was an instant put-down due to her ravenous search. I know she desires to be paid for her services, but toning down the«cash grab» persona would have been more appropriate/considerate of her clients potential state of mind. At one point she expressed being cynical of the functionality/correctness/accuracy of my insurance cards listed contact information, and asked if I had any numbers on hand that definitely would work if called. I told her no, she looked put down, and reluctantly moved on. She also spent most of the sessions time filling out insurance claim forms, and seemingly filling out personal information collected about me and my troubles. I believe she needed this to send to my insurance company in order to collect payments, if correct about what I witnessed. I read online that mental health professionals must send insurance companies notes on what they’re treating psychologically ill clients for, in order to receive payments for their services. I think in total she billed my insurance company $ 800 or more over 6 sessions, and it was later bumped down to $ 400 or more due to fee limits imposed on her. I had HIP coverage via medicaid at the time, so they only allowed her to charge up to a certain amount for her services if used. All in all, I’d never recommend hiring Alicia C. Sainer. She wasn’t comforting, seemed unconcerned with the lack of effectiveness of her services, and I hope that this review helps others to avoid her in the future.
