Albert Amin Salon

I went in for a keratin treatment with a living social deal. The deal was for 99 bucks. I usually go to Le Salon East for 89 dollars, but given the place had good reviews and was closer to my place, I decided to give this place a shot. I went to print out my voucher and it stated that it was already used. I called them and they said not to worry and to just come in. (I later found out they basically charged me before even having the service. I had made the appt that same morning.)
I came in and right away the lady sat me down and was rude. Then she tells me to sit down. Upon sitting down, the woman informs me that it will cost me an additional 40 dollars to do the keratin given my hair is «so» long! (My hair is a tad past my shoulder.) Upon which I asked if I could cancel because it was much more than I had intended to spend. And she said sure but that I would not be able to get the money from the voucher back. So having no choice I sit and go through the process. All the while, the lady went on about the quality of their product and service.
5 days later, I wash my hair and it’s not really straight. It’s been 3 weeks and my ends are split and dry. (Keep in mind– I never use my iron and I deep condition once a week) Never ever have I had a keratin treatment where my hair looks so atrocious! Whenever I have gotten the keratin get treatment done at any other salon, it always looks super healthy, and frizz free. I have at least done 8 in my lifetime. I definitely got screwed. I will never go back! What a scam!

What a great place to get a blow out! Extremely quaint and lovely but most of all clean salon. The staff are just as lovely too! Will be back for more treatments!

This place is amazing! I just left with what is hands down one of the best haircuts I’ve ever gotten. I was really nervous to cut my long hair into a «lob,» but Albert was the perfect mix of reassuring an persuasive, and he was right :). His singing and dancing through the haircut made me super comfortable, and the outcome is EXACTLY what I wanted. I also got the Brazilian blow-​out which seems to look great already as well. Staff are all super friendly — remember to bring a cash tip or a debit card! I wasn’t able to tip him as much as I’d like for his great work, so I’ll have to compensate extra the next time I am back. :)

It’s been almost a month and my Brazilian Blowout is STILL amazing! I have very thick, curly hair that usually takes at least an hour to straighten; now it only takes about ten minutes for incredible results. When it’s not sleek and straight, it’s wavy and still looks awesome. Albert’s winning personality and flawless technique made the entire process painless and quick. I’ll be going back!

I originally discovered Albert through a Lifebooker special and have been a loyal customer since. I have a lot of curly hair which most stylists just can’t cut right but Albert has consistently done an amazing job. He has glammed me up for numerous events, pre-​baby easy daily cut and now post baby maintenance that lasts and keeps up with my busy lifestyle. Not only is his craftsmanship superb but he has such pleasant demeanor always offering a smile and just an amazing experience all around. I can’t recommend anyone more highly.

Fantastic salon. Great people/​staff– I’ve never left with a hair style I did not love. A little pricey but you get what you pay for. Definitely recommend.

terrible expeience. bought blow-​out package of 5 services. was never told they expire ! offered 2 «free» blow outs. tthey are not free i paid for them already. was told person who sold them to me is not here anymore there was nothing they could do for me! total rip off do not ever go to this holein the wall!!!

I am leaving NYC in 2 days, so I am writing Unilocal reviews for all of the businesses/​people I have loved. Albert has done my hair for the past 4 – 5 years and he is the best. I followed him from his old salon and would happily follow him again. I’ve sent friends and family to Albert and they have all been extremely happy. I have never colored my hair, but Albert highlighted my friend’s hair and it looked AMAZING. Highly recommend Albert Amin Salon!

THE BEST!!! Just got back from the salon after a color and blow dry. I had everyone work on me– Albert is SO lovely and promised organic color would be safe for my sensitive scalp and mildly thinning hair. He delivered! It’s gorgeous color and he was such a doll. Maria washed me– lovely girl, very sweet, did a great job. Unfortunately I forgot the girl’s name who dried me, but she was fantastic! Couldn’t have been happier with my experience. Truly a great salon.

I have been a customer for the last few years — was recommended by several good friends and have been going back ever since. I regularly go to the salon for cuts and blow-​outs, and had an amazing Brazilian Keratin Blow-​out that lasted over 6 months and grew back beautifully — always satisfied with their service. I find their pricing totally worth it; highly recommend.

Terrible experience with this salon. I had bought a life booker loot for a single process for when I was home for the holidays. I had made an appointment with them for noon one Wednesday. Early that morning, my mother had gotten into a huge car accident. I rushed home that morning. Hours later though still before the appointment time, I called to inform to tell them what had happened and the owner’s response was «we still strictly honor the 24 hour cancellation policy.» Are you kidding me? Had I known that a accident was going to happen, perhaps I would have called 24 hours in advance… I called life booker to tell them my frustrations a few days later and they told me they would speak to the owner. The owner was still resilient and did not honor a reschedule. Though, I understand that it was inconvenient and they have a business to run but they truly made that day worse than it needed to be. Disgusted by their response; I found them inhumane and ridiculous. I don’t recommend this place just because of the people.

I had the best experience here. Fabio gave me partial highlights and a blowout. My hair looks and feels AMAZING! He really knows his stuff. The staff were over-​the-​top friendly and I walked out of there feeling like a million bucks. Definitely go to Albert Amin Salon! I’m about to schedule a Keratin treatment there as we speak :)

Had an awesome haircut by Ariela! My hair was dead and it looks so much healthier. I always come here with the life booker deal which is great for a cut and blowdry.

Really lovely people and lovely service! I walked in off the street to get a trim and a blow out, and walked out very satisfied with the end result. A little pricey but totally worth it. Highly recommended!
