This place has great queso. I am concerned that is may have closed… dropped by a couple times but it has been shuttered. Phone calls are met with busy signal. Does anyone know?

I came here with a groupon. When you walk in at first it’s charming with the pink walls and dim lighting, but it’s just to disguise the fact that the seating is horrendous. Tiny tables, tiny wobbly chairs where your coat won’t even hang on because some of them are rounded(my coat and bag also fell on the floor behind me multiple times and the server, walking by back and forth, wouldn’t even tell me). The service is also terrible. It’s as if as soon as I mentioned groupon that he didn’t want to bother with my table. He was uninviting and cold. Never came up to our table to check up on us. Yet with other tables he would be much nicer. I work in the service industry myself and I always smile and go the extra mile to be pleasant so I’m not sure what his deal was. As someone else mentioned the water has no ice and tastes like it came from a faucet. The food was mediocre at best and reminded me of cafeteria food. I’m Hispanic and this food was a joke for the price. I would never pay full price without a coupon. I didn’t want to leave a tip because of the nonexistent hospitality, but I begrudgingly tipped 20% off the full price anyways. There are so many better places with better food, prices and service. Save your money and check out another place.

This is such a hole in the wall Mexican joint and it’s great. Really cheap, really fast and pretty yummy. Great place to go for lunch with a team. It’s never full so you can always get a seat. The staff is nice. The same dude has been working here for like 7 years and he still doesn’t talk to me, but it’s cool, we’re good like that. Overall, a decent Mexican joint!

Delivery wasn’t too bad. I ordered the chicken fajita and a side of nachos. The nacho portion was small and the nachos were burnt :(. The rice and beans that accompanied the food was good. The only provided two small tortillas, which wasn’t enough. The food fajita was good.

I found this place on trip advisor(by Googling restaurants in our area). I called ahead to ask if they had a kids’ menu, which they do not, and if I needed to make a reservation– not needed. It is very small, not surprising in the city, but I managed to fit our stroller in there. I ordered both my kids an appetizer cheese quesadilla, which ended up being a perfect amount for them, they gobbled up every bite! I had shrimp fajitas with corn tortialls and 2 margaritas. My husband had the pork burritos, and our total was around $ 65. Everything we had was really good, and I’m pretty picky. If we lived closeby, this would definitely be a staple for us! I wouldn’t say they were kids friendly, but they made us feel more than at home with our 2 boys. It was quiet, dark and small, but we had a great time. And our server was awesome!

I cannot start to explain the amazing authenticity of this place! Hands down best Mexican I’ve ever had. Better than Mexico! Even though a hole in the wall a definite must go to when in the area!

This place used to be great. The groupon/living social deal had it packed on weekends. The food used to be amazing and I’d look forward to eating there again. I’d go at least once a month. It’s a hole in the wall but I usually don’t mind. Until I saw a small roach crawling on the wall and they changed the deal to no longer include shrimp. I’m pescatarian so that basically left me with nothing to eat. That was my last visit.

This is a whole in the wall restaurant and the interior is pretty crappy but that’s to be expected from a place so small. The food is good and decently large portions. I personally am not crazy about the food but I know a lot of people who are, but it’s definitely good at the very least. You get free salsa and chips as soon as you’re seated, along with your glass of water.

Not happy about this place which is a shame as I frequent it often. On this visit as I checked in through Unilocal a coupon came up– 25% OFF my order and $ 4 frozen margaritas till 7pm. They didn’t want to honor the coupon!!! After 10 minutes of back and forth they acepted the 25% but not the margarita one. Our food was 25% less of a normal serving!!! We stayed long enough to see the plates of others and it was a fact! VERYDISAPPOINTED

I usually have great experiences when I check out a new places via Groupon. I think from now on, I will do my research before I visit! Ah Chihuahua was a hot nightmare… literally. For some reason I fought the thought to call beforehand to make reservations. Big mistake. I went on a weekday with a friend around 3 o clock. As soon as we entered, we were told by a gentleman they are closed until 5 pm for dinner. I never experienced such. To be fair, I usually don’t go out to eat around the lunch to dinner transition. So maybe restaurants closing for dinner preparation is normal? Let me know! Anyway it was by far the worst day to just be «killing time» before dinner. It was about 95 degrees in NYC in the shade! The urban serra desert if you will. LOL. We decided to get a snack(which end up to be a 20 block walk). CON#1: I called the establishment to confirm if I need a reservation for dinner at 5pm. A guy picked up(possibly the owner who turned us away at 3pm). He sounded mufled then hung up. I tried calling back and no answer. Hey I guess we decided to wait til 5 and hope for the best. The Groupon was already purchased and I doubt I’ll return! So we got back(mildly dehydrated) at 5:07pm. The restaurant was still closed! A paper sign read«Will be back at 5pm». A good sign was there were others waiting as well. My friend called about 3 times and no answer! CON#2: So literally 20 mins after, Ah Chihuahua decided to open the doors. No apologies given. The place got packed pretty quickly since we all were waiting. Our waiter scanned the Groupon voucher and told us what we can order off the menu. CON #3: IDK if Grouponers get the short end of the stick or they are just cheap! I ordered loaded nachos and literally got 6 pieces of nachos. The f*ck! The complimentary chips were stale and the salsa was cold. My entrée wasn’t any better. I ordered the pork burrito with a side of refried beans and rice. The beans had an after taste and the rice was dry. In fact the whole plate was dry. I had high hopes for the pork burritos but that was a fail. The whole purpose of putting your services or establishment on Groupon are for exposure and new customers. A relationship was not built and Ah Chihuahua left a nasty taste in my mouth. Lesson learned! No matter how great a deal looks, I will now read Unilocal reviews from you guys, before I waste my time… or appetite!

This is a hole in the wall place off of a very busy restaurant/bar street in Manhattan. I think my husband and I were wondering why we passed up all the hoping places for this, but I had a Groupon that I needed to use up. That should be my first clue, if you’re an amazing restaurant you don’t need to promote yourself on Groupon. Note to self. Anyhow, the food was good. Nothing great, but nothing wrong with it. Could have been a bit more seasoned. The guacamole was tasty as was the salsa. We are both vegetarian and the options were limited. It was basically get cheese and refried beans with tortillas prepared in some way. Something with sauted veggies in it would have been nice. The portions were on the smaller side of what you normally get at a Mexican restaurant, but I left full. Overall, we weren’t unhappy that we went there, but we won’t be going back. Too many other options.

Nice tiny Mexican restaurant. .it’s very tiny and decorated like Milon(, a bengali restaurant in Manhattan) .there is a guy working in the bar and another working n serving n taking orders… customer service was good. we got taquitos. n green salad as appetizers n chimichingas and chihuahua. .evry thing was okay except taquitos(hope I spelled correctly). portion size was huge… the funny thing is tables are very tiny compared to the enormous dishes! … compared to the price foid was blunt and forgettable. …would like Lil more authenticity n spices in the dishes !!!

I found out about this place thanks to a handy dandy app called living social. They had a good coupon. But what drove me to come here was because they had chimichangas on the menu! Chimi-flippin-changas, which for some reason I didn’t know was real I thought it was something from Kim possible lol Anyway I got here and of course ordered the chimichangas but was sadly disappointed. 1. It wasn’t a real Chimichanga. It was like pre made taquitos and they give you a side of rice and beans and sour cream & guacamole with lettuce. The food was okay but I just expected something else. My brother-in-law ordered a red sangria which to his surprise was actually strong. So that’s a huge plus. Especially for people that when they order drinks are sad to find out they’re drink taste either watered down or not enough liquor. I will say though they have great customer service and were hospitable. The moment we sat down the waiter even asked if any of us had a Groupon etc. Which we were surprised that they asked us.(You know some places don’t want you to know about discounts) So I liked that they were honest about that and we were able to get 25% off our meal. Overall the food was okay, no wow factor. The people were nice. The place is kinda small though but I didn’t find it to be a problem since we were the only ones really there.

Make sure you check in with Unilocal,so you can get a 25% discount. This place is cash only! Food is blah. The chips and salsa weren’t even great. Everything on the menu was supposedly«healthy» because they would use a whole wheat wrap. But come on, you think that whole wheat burrito you’re stuffing your mouth with is healthy? No. The food was subpar. The margaritas didn’t even look good. Not coming back.
Hole in the wall old décor and super low prices for the best Spanish food in the area. I work around here and the pricey options are no good compared to this small place. Very flavorful — I got the chicken fajita lunch special and my friend got the chicken enchiladas which were excellent as well
