I love their products but the people who work in this shop seem to be ‘out gathering provisions’ a lot. I’ve now been met with this sign twice in 2 days. Does only one person work in this shop?

Lovely staff was patient and attentive. They have a sink so that you can try their products. I wish they had a toilet there as well so I can test the APC post-poo drops.

I love Aesop soaps and am a frequent customer at their Bleeker Street location. I was thrilled to learn that they were opening a shop nearer to my apartment in Chelsea. However, when I went over there today at around 4pm to restock my supply, I was met with a sign on the door that read«Out briefly, gathering provisions. Returning at 4:25. Sincere apologies for any inconvenience.» I am sorry but this is inexcusable and not a way to do business. In the middle of the day in NYC in a busy neighborhood. Especially for a new shop that is looking to attract a loyal, local clientele in a new location. Either the shop is open or its closed. As I had other engagements I could not wait nearly a half hour for the shop to reopen and so they lost out on quite a large sale. I assume it was more important for the salesclerk to be out and about«gathering provisions»(i.e. cappuccino?).
