If I could give zero stars I would. Unfortunately Unilocal only goes as low as 1 star. Never showed up when they said they would and no phone call. No apology or anything.

When hiring a plumber be sure to ask the minimum charge before booking the appointment. For these guys it is $ 250 and I suspect it varies by your zip code (that seems illegal). Repairman was nice, but underpaid. The company, however, will rip you off. I was told I needed a new toilet flushometer due to a small leak. The repairman had to call back to the office to get the price, which seemed odd. He came back sheepishly with a quote of $ 650. I did a quick online check and the same model I have installed now goes for about $ 110 and the expensive models are under $ 400.
These guys are unscrupulous.

ABR plumbers didn’t show up (after making me wait a whole day for them.) Their office doesn’t give messages so return calls are rare, and require perseverance and endurance. ABR plumbers misdiagnosed the problem, requiring more than 7 visits and many hundreds of dollars that were unnecessarily spent for what turned out to be a simple repair (performed by the appliance maker’s repair man.) ABR was just a disaster.

Although ABR did not actually service my apartment, I have to give them a 5 star recommendation for their honesty. I called them for an estimate for a problem I was having with my drain today. After hearing several estimates for $ 145/​hour plumbing service with a two hour minimum per call, I was really expecting to have to pay out the ear for a relatively minor problem: a clogged sink that needed to be snaked.
The person who answered the phone recommended that I simply call their subcontractor, Drain Kleen, who could perform the service for much less money than they would do, as it was such a simple call. Drain Kleen was able to solve the problem for only $ 165 total, and their service people were courteous, punctual, knowledgeable, and friendly.
I was so blown away by the honesty of the ABR phone guy, who instead of quoting me a high rate for a service that a plumber really wasn’t necessary for, simply recommended a less expensive contractor. Because of this experience, in my book, they rate a five star review and ABR is definitely the first plumber I would call if I ever did have a serious problem with my plumbing, because I know they are a fair and honest business!

This place is the worst!!! They sent people to my apartment on the wrong day. Then they didn’t show up on the right day. When I called to ask what happened they told me if I didn’t like it I didn’t have to use them, called me an a**hole and hung up on me! Use anyone else!!!
