Great curated selection of meats, cheeses and condiments from Italy mostly, and a few from Spain and local artisans.

Great place to find gourmet Italian groceries and imports! The place is a little expensive but you pay for the unique items they have at the store. The people who work here are friendly and explain everything to you. I have yet to try their coffee and sandwiches but it’s certainly on my to-do list.

Lovely people, excellent food, you can find almost anything italian here and mediterranean(Authentic). Real talk… you will be paying extremely high prices. Paid $ 13.00 for a sandwich once… $ 13.00!!! Never bought another sandwich since. It was good but not worth $ 13.00. The average person can’t afford the prices ALC charges, but if you are willing to splurge then I highly recommend their food. Again, awesome people work here, just mind your wallet and appetite.

Has guanciale. One of the few places around that does. It’s so «authentic» that I literally couldn’t handle it — so now I make my carbonara with Key Food pancetta, knowing full well that I can’t handle the porky realness of guanciale. Also, just a warning — come with a specific shopping list and stick to it or you will leave with a full bag and an empty wallet.

I’m a Huge fan. Delayed review, I actually visited here the day before Thanksgiving 2015… my strategy every year is to stretch out my stomach for the two days leading up to the holiday. I wanted the Porchetta sandwich but it was gonzo for the day… I did a face palm after realizing how long I had taken to get in here and get a Hero. I ended up actually getting a Prosciutto, Fresh Mozz, Arugula and Pesto Panini… freshly made with LOVE. My only complaint was it was a bit heavy, but that’s what I chose. I added some Sriracha to the 2nd half @ home. I’ve been back and I can’t recall what I had, but it was equally as good. Lots of Italian groceries, specialty cheeses, baked breads and sweets. Great service and very pleasant people. yumtastic

ALC is hands down the best Italian market around… I cater all my parties from here… the food is fresh and spectacular. Everyone is always asking for more food and wanting to know where we got it from. I highly recommend stopping by for some great Italian groceries, lunch(best sandwiches) or even to pick up some dinner for the family. We all LOVEALC.

I have to take the time to update. We ate here at Summer Stroll 2015 and it was terrific! Another time I came and I had to wait for them to make coffee and the owner gave it to me free, since I had to wait. THAT is customer service! Keep up the great work, ALC!

Everyone who works here is so friendly and welcoming. They offer shameless free samples and nice conversation. One of my favorite things are all of the deals. I once found a basket marked 50% off of all goods inside. Another time there was a basket of $ 1 day-old pastries. You can’t beat that. The deli case is full of fresh made salads, vegetables, meats, and more; all of the Italian delicacies are made fresh. Most of the pastries come in frozen from Italy and are baked in house. There are plenty of cheese and cured meats to satisfy any palate. The refrigerated case is stocked with a variety of traditional Italian beverages alongside modern drinks like ginger beer. Give them a shot and ask for a recommendation. You won’t be disappointed.

Great food — good people — what else can you ask for? Everything you order here is fresh and delicious. Their vegetable dishes are fantastic. Besides the good food and excellent service, I really love that this store became part of the community right away(see their front door in pic).

ALC could be great, but it’s not quite there. Definitely the best cheese selection and Instagram presence in Bay Ridge, but I always want there to be more fresh ravioli/pasta options than there are. Also, the cracker options to go with your fancy cheese are basically what you’d find in a grocery store. The pre-cooked beets are awesome, but the bread and pastry selection is middling. Pro-tip for other impulse buyers: skip the flavorless fudge they started stocking by the register.

I started going to A.L.C. because it had the best selection of fine cheeses in Bay Ridge. I kept going back to A.L.C. because it continues to offer the best cheese in Bay Ridge, but also a great selection of salumi, prepared foods, and truly excellent service. It’s become one of the shops I stop at, not just because I like their products, but because it reminds me of the kind of neighborhood shops that I grew up in. A.L.C. has gotten busy over the last few years, and I think it’s because they take community seriously. not just because of their products, but because they offer the kind of counter service that makes you feel like you are part of the neighborhood. A.L.C. treats their customers like they value the relationship. This, combined with the quality of what I buy there has inspired my loyalty. This is how businesses don’t just grow — this is how they thrive.

If you don’t feel like cooking, go here and get a great dinner to take home. Good food and your doctor won’t yell at you for eating it.

A great selection of italian sandwiches, it’s a shame different abbreviations and naming conventions all over the web obscuring their location. i-italy ep

Never gave this place a chance despite it being so close to me which is a damn shame bc turns out, I’ve been missing out. Their paninis/sandwiches are divine. I especially love the stefania. They also sell a bunch of fun, gourmet snacks that’s hard to come by in this neighborhood. A great addition to Bay Ridge; I hope they stay for years on end.

I came in to get a coffee and a small bite for breakfast. Sitting at the tables to the left. A roach was crawling across the wall. I told the guy and he said«Eh, I’ll get it later when it crawls lower.» When it crawled over our heads we had to get up and move. Looking around the place I found another dead roach on the counter next to the coffee station and another dead one on the shelves next to some bottles. I mentioned those on the way out and his response was«It happens when we bomb the basement.» I inspected my food and ate it outside. It was decent. When I returned inside to throw away my wrapper. about 20min later, they had done nothing to clean them up. I don’t think I’ll be back. Edit– so we get home and my wife opens her sandwich and stuck right to the top of the bread was a dead roach. My first thought was that it might have been put there intentionally, but after picking at it, the roach was stuck to the bread.(Posted a photo)

I was recently back from my trip to Italy and was feeling slightly nostalgic so I stopped by here to look around. I got an entrée of Turkey meatload with grilled vegetables and quinoa salad for $ 10.00 The food was delicious and the price amazing. Fun place to eat and browse at their imported food selections.

BayRdge will be eating better when A.L. Coluccio’s opens. The shop is readying it’s inventory and I stopped in and chatted with the lovely owners Louis and his wife. Louis is the grandson of the orginal Colucio’s in Bensonhurst. Prepared and imported foods will be offered. I was so impressed by the variety of imported Italian goods. Eggplant with garlic. A red sauce with bits of fish. Many goods I have not seen elsewere are offered. I went with the«Italian Volcano», organic tangerine juice– delish. I can’t wait for porchetta to be made here and dough from Di Faras will be sold. This Italian food shop is brand spanking new and when it opens officially it will rock!
