My toilet kept running and running so I thought I should try replacing the flapper valve. I took the old one out, dried it off and put it in a Ziploc and carried it down to 9th Ave Hardware. In about 30 seconds, I walked out with my new flapper, came home and installed it. Boom! No more constantly running can! Fast and accurate help at prices similar to Home Depot, I think that’s great.

Small and well organized store. Prices are almost the same like other stores maybe a little less. It depends. But you can find whatever you looking for. Friendly folks helps anything you need

They packed a lot of merch into the small space, which is good, but it was all pretty expensive. I had two keys made: One was $ 2.50, which was fine, but the other was $ 6.99. Everything was a few dollars more than it should be. The keys also took 15 minutes, with hardly anyone in the store. The guy working the counter was not rude, just cranky.

I’m surprised about the bad reviews, because I’ve been in there 3 times and had nothing but outstanding service. Not only do they walk around the store asking you if you need help, but they make sure that you get exactly what you want. And compared to the small stores in NJ and even Lowes, I think this place is much cheaper. Which is why I stop here on my way home via Port Authority.

Average neighborhood hardware store. Not sure why many other Unilocalers had bad experiences, but the gentleman behind the counter helped me out with a smile. The prices for what I was looking for were reasonable.

Basic neighborhood hardware store. They don’t stand out in any way except that they’re the closest one to my apartment and they make keys super quick. You’re better off finding somewhere cheaper for big purchases, but for the occasional can of spray paint or wrench or whatever, it’ll do.

Small, but deceiving. They seem to have pretty much everything that a bigger Hardware store may have. Service not so friendly though, but not much to expect from a place like this. Three stars because I went in and got out with what I wanted it!!!

This store is extremely overpriced, the employees have absolutely NO expertise whatsoever and the service is rude(sometimes to the point of aggressive). Unfortunately I have actually been here multiple times despite having horrendous experiences each time simply because they are so close to my home. It is one of those places that has become a running joke because of how awful it is. They didn’t even have a hammer once when I went! I mean, Come On. Don’t go here it’s a complete waste of time.

3.5 stars Nice little hardware/housewares store. The selection is pretty good, the prices are reasonable(though not cheap), and most impressive is that the place is very clean. The guy who helped me wasn’t cheery to say the least but he did ask if I needed help and pointed me in all the right directions. They also take cards here(another rare oddity in NYC).
