New menu! Disappointed a bit that they don’t offer the duck breast entrée anymore but they make up for it with a more extensive menu. The Lobster Sweet Corn Chowder was full of lobster and corn and was delicious and the Sirloin Tips were great for sharing. For entrees, the Pork Chop, Lamb Chops and Delmonico steak were all solid. Arguably though, perhaps the best new additions to the menu were a couple of desserts! The Sticky Toffee Pudding and the deconstructed Lemon Meringue Tart in a jar were both wonderful. The host and servers were all friendly and helpful. Will definitely continue to return to 2 West!

It was so delicious. We ate their breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All three of them could stand up to any other restaurant. The service was phenomenal.

Had a wonderful dinner at 2 West. The meal was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. The service was impeccable. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

Awful. Came here with my mother and brother. They brought my mother the wrong dish and me the wrong side. I then cut into my steak and its rare when I ordered medium well. They bring me out a second steak and its just as rare and without the bacon wrap or sauce. Tasted bloody and I didn’t finish a bite. They took my mothers pasta dish off the bill which was nice but my meal wasn’t comped? It was disgusting. Wish i went to del friscos or ruth chris… $ 42 for a steak i didn’t eat. Definitely wouldn’t recommend.

Phenomenal lunch! Came here today for lunch today and had the seared scallops and the salmon. I am gluten and dairy intolerant and I was incredibly impressed with how they handled this. The chef came out both times and explained what I was eating the way they do in very high end restaurants. He really added to the dish instead of just taking things away and was very thoughtful, again really impressed. The seared scallops were cooked to perfection not overdone at all with truffle and basil oil and a matcha salt to finish. Incredible. The scallops were huge. The salmon was also cooked to perfection so juicy. He made an avocado and tomato salad and finished this with chipotle smoked salt and a burnt lime. Simply perfection. The space itself does feel more like a lobby than a restaurant but it’s not crowded, always good and great service so I’ve been before and will go back.

This is the restaurant in the Ritz Carlton at Battery Park. The service was good, but the food was just ok. I had the horseradish salmon — which had an interesting flavor but was overcooked. My wife had the bacon wrapped filet, which was perfectly cooked but flavorless. We expected better for the Ritz and the price.

We were staying at Ritz and had a reservation at hip restaurant uptown but after a gorgeous walk along the river and cocktails at the bar we decided to stay and eat at 2 West. The Manhattan clam chowder with whole clams in the shell was the best I’ve ever had. I actually wasn’t going to order it but when my husband’s order came I asked them to bring an order to me as well! The bass dish was perfect with super fresh fish on bed of spinach and tiny potatoes. My husband reports that the duck was«wonderful»! Apple pear tart was a perfect ending! Really, we had low expectations and were pleasantly surprised! I would give this 5 stars for food but gave it 4 only because it was in a hotel dining room albeit classically elegant.

Visited this place during restaurant week and Since I am a vegetarian I find it difficult to get good options but I loved the American food here, definitely 5 star

What an amazing meal! Service was spectacular. I had the bacon wrapped filet mignon which was flawlessly cooked! Filled with tons of flavor. The shrimp carbonara appetizer was great the only flop for me the dessert. It was the chocolate cake. It wasn’t good but I’d comeback & try more food

Me and my girlfriend stayed in the hotel so we decided to try out the restaurant. Great service, however not much on the menu. Got fried calamari which wasn’t even on the main menu but on the drinks menu for bar snacks. The marinara sauce was very spicy. Didn’t like anything on the menu so i just asked if they could make me spaghetti with the same sauce from the calamari(at that point i hadn’t tasted the calamari marinara yet, i figured it was just going to be a little spicy) so my pasta was very spicy as well. Border line unenjoyable. Also cost me $ 22. It was a rather large portion though. My girlfriend had the half chicken and she said it was bland.

A friend and I went here after riding the Staten Island ferry. They were doing restaurant week which was 3 courses for $ 38. When asked if I’d like a drink, I asked what chardonnay they had by the glass and he replied, «cakebread» Having never had it, I had no idea it was $ 26.00 a glass which I found out when the bill came. I didn’t not appreciate not being given any other option though my fault for not asking-in any event, be advised. The restaurant menu offered bacon wrapped filet mignon which my friend had and enjoyed. I had the fish and it was cooked well and tasted great. The desserts were also quite delicious. The restaurant had a slightly lower level facing the waterfront though not much to see due to buildings along the shore but it was a nice atmosphere. all in all it was a good meal.

Aweful food, nonexistent service. Went in for an early lunch w/colleagues to celebrate a successful event. Even though we were practically the only people there, we had to go get the waiter to ask him to take our order. When the food arrived mine had been prepared w/ingredients left out because my colleague had asked them to be removed from HIS order. So what arrived was genuinely the blandest meal I’ve ever been served. What’s more the lunch combination portions are TINY. I honestly think we would have been better off going to a Subway. This is so far below my expectations of a Ritz Carlton. Don’t waste your money or time here!!!

Am definitely a fairly regular customer here! All the food is amazing but I particularly love the skirt steak and duck entrees. I love love love the staff! They are like family who always greet with a smile and if time permits, some friendly discussion. They are the best and take care of me and my family with the utmost best service and hospitality!

Still overly expensive. Just because it is situated in a Ritz Carlton hotel, doesn’t mean they should slack off. The quality is just awful for the amount of money.

Really great food so far. Staying at the Ritz, Battery Park and the food so far has been fantastic. Glad this is the in-room dining experience I’ll be having!

RW Week Review: Made a reservation for 2 on a Tuesday evening. You have to go through the Ritz Carlton Hotel to get to the restaurant. The front of the restaurant seems to be a bit more casual, brighter lighting, noise level is a tad higher, not loud but definitely not as quiet as the back and the bar is front and center. The back has a more private dining area, dimmer lighting and very quiet in ambiance. Upon walking in everyone greeted us, the doorman, a woman worked at the hotel and was stepping out, the concierge. They steered us toward the restaurant, its the Ritz so décor is top notch. So we get to the podium and I tell the hostess that we have a reservation under Deborah Rivera, he greets me & turns to my brother Ryan & goes you must be Mr. Rivera.(lmfao!) I’m laughing and my brother goes. No… well Yes, but… & I go he’s my brother! So we’re all standing there cracking up. We’re seated in the rear, great view of the water & the skyline :) We’re started off with a bread basket & water. Ryan went with Pellegrino,(FYI $ 10 a bottle). I stuck with tap. I like my water minus the bubbles. For the appetizer I had the Beefsteak Tomato Duet with Burrata Cheese, Aged Balsamic Vinegar & Basil Oil… it was so good. I love the presentation of the heirloom tomatoes and the Burrata was melt in your mouth perfect. The balsamic and basil oil were the perfect addition. Ryan had the Yellowtail Hamachi Crudo with Jalapeño Citrus Ponzu, Spring Radishes & Pea Shoots. He loved it & the Hamachi was freaking delicious! I don’t even like fish at all & I tried a bite and it was actually very tasty! Super fresh! I’d eat that again! For our entrée we both had Bacon Wrapped Filet Mignon with Jumbo Asparagus & Sauce Bordelaise. The Filet was perfectly tender, super juicy and the bordelaise was the perfect addition! The asparagus was fresh and cooked just right! For dessert Ryan had the pecan tart, I had the chocolate cake. dessert was very lack luster, I expected so much more since apps & entrees had been so delicious. Not sure if regular desserts are better, than the RW options, but I would definitely hope so. Service was impeccable. Water glasses always topped off and waiters were extremely attentive.

Despite the mediocre reviews on Unilocal,I decided to come here during restaurant week for the big name of Ritz-Carlton. The truth is, I should have read more reviews before I made the decision. Food: 4 stars. We ordered the yellowtail hamachi, spinach gnocchi, salmon, bacon-wrapped filet mignon, chocolate cake and the pecan tart. The appetizers and entrees were great, especially the filet. It was so tender that I didn’t need a steak knife to cut it. Very fresh ingredients and great taste, but the dessert tasted aged like those you get from Wal-Mart and left in the fridge for a week. Décor: 3 stars. The hotel itself was very old school, so was the restaurant. There is no defined boundary between the hotel lobby and the restaurant, and I was unsure if I was in the right place or in a lobby bar. We came here for dinner, and the lighting was so dim that we were falling asleep towards the end. Anyway, it’s a restaurant good for private conversation, because there were very few people, even during restaurant week. For a second, I thought my fiancée rented out the entire place because we were the only ones in the dining room! I wouldn’t recommend it if it is out of your way, or not during restaurant week. It was a disappointment for me.

Ate there for my first time last night and experienced the restaurant week menu. I got the yellowtail hamachi, the salmon, and the chocolate cake. The hamachi was wonderful. It was fresh and just melts in your mouth and is complimented by the perfect marinade. The salmon was TODIEFOR though! It was crusted and served with some sort of sweet mustard sauce and a sweet potato purée but it didnt taste too mustardy or sweet. The flavor combination was perfect! The only downside was the dessert selection didnt seem to have a lot of thought put into it. My chocolate cake seemed to have just come out of the fridge and was quite dry. But other than that everything was great and I will definitely be back! I would def suggest you go try them for restaurant week. It’s a great deal.

Typically overpriced hotel bar. It is fun to go here though and watch girls try to pick up guys traveling on business. Seriously! Watch the bar. It usually works!

Huge disappointment for a Ritz restaurant. We had never planned to eat here but did so as we were both ill at different points during our visit and didn’t want to venture out in the cold. My wife and I ate appetizers, a dessert, and several room service meals from this restaurant, and we were quite let down on nearly all occasions and items. Clearly the weakest restaurant of any of the 5 – 6 Ritz Carlton’s I have stayed at in the US and Japan. The décor reminded me of a Las Vegas casino coffee shop, but the prices reminded me of a Ritz Carlton restaurant for sure! Service was courteous and professional, no problems there. Our breakfasts were acceptable, our dessert was crappy, and we ordered pizzas which were simply pathetic and tasted like something from the Celeste /Gino’s frozen pizza aisle(at $ 20+ each). I did enjoy the chicken noodle soup(I had it twice) and my wife enjoyed the crab cake– thus saving this debacle from a dreaded 1 star. My recommendation is do breakfast only, and avoid at all costs for other meals.
