Place has obviously closed see article: ( ) Went here a few times and wasn’t really impressed, i would say it was kind of a «fall back» club which means that if your plans for the night ended up getting ruined or you didn’t get into the club you originally thought you would in the meatpacking district you were pretty much guaranteed to get in here. Huge lines, small space, a lot of dancing and drinks flowing, it was a good time to the out of towner visiting NYC or the Bridge and Tunnel Crowd New Yorkers thinking that they are popular by buying one or two bottles that weekend.

Bunker is clearly a playground for the privileged, but that doesn’t make it fun. The experience I had was very hit or miss. I was there to do an interview with the event producer and called ahead to confirm. When I get to the door, some random hipster with a black belt in arrogance tries to brush me off but I dodge him like Neo in the Matrix. Not all doormen in the Meatpacking District are like this, but some guys haven’t realized that a tough door doesn’t have to be a rude door. When I get down into the basement club you’ll see that 90% of the space set up for the«please notice me getting table service» crowd and crowd is in full force here. The group skews younger and European from what I saw, but I might just be projecting the Meatpacking stereotype on this space. Overall there were no complete jackwagons there and I had a great interview at the bar, so I can’t really complain about the people. The bartenders are friendly, helpful and dressed in the style of many craft cocktail lounges, so you might be surprised when they push the Ciroc drink specials on you instead of an actual cocktail. They do have a cocktail list, it just takes a backseat to the vodka. If you like fighting your way into a club and you like going to venues in the Meatpacking District and you like new spots, try to go to Bunker. If you want all that and a good drinks with better service, go to Double Seven around the corner. Have fun. G

Well — I mean, it’s the Meat Packing District so you pretty much know what you’re getting yourself into when you head to a club in the area. Long lines, douchey bouncers, pricey drinks. The solution, as always, is to go with a promoter — which is exactly what my group did, and I’m glad, because this place ended up being a blast! We had table service for the night, so I’m not 100% sure how much drinks or cover is, but I gather that its pretty expensive. But I’d say it’s probably worth it! The music here is good, the crowd’s attractive, and the décor is hot. I had a good time! It wasn’t stiflingly crowded or sweaty, like a lot of MePa clubs can tend to be(which is always a bore, considering the lines to get in anyway) and shocker of all shockers, there was actually room to dance. Of course, that’s not to say it was empty either — there was a sizeable crowd. All in all, I had a blast, and I’d definitely go back.

A buddy of mine knew a guy who knew a guy and got us right past the rope and down the stairs through the unmarked door. Bunker’s a fitting name, because when the lights came on at 4 I could see that it’s pretty rough looking, but with the lights down and the music thumping, no one cares. Beautiful clientele and waitstaff. Awesome catsuit-clad girls walking around offering massages for men and women add to the feeling that you’re in a way cool place meant for only cool people. Or for guys like me who knows a guy who knows a guy, etc.

I am a huge fan! This was the perfect end to an interesting evening in the Meat Packing District. The club was recommended by the service staff of a nearby restaurant. I showed up with another female, and after some light teasing at the door, we were ushered into the otherwise hidden basement space. The club had beautiful vaulted brick ceilings and tasty bartenders. The drinks were lovely and something uniquely concocted by the bartender(something he labeled a «Half-Assed Pim’s Cup»). The music was at the right volume for both talking and dancing. It was a great blend of 80’s and pop conducive to rump-shaking with an intent for fun. The only downside– no Hendrick’s. I’m sure they’ve remedied that by now.

Why not have my eleven hundredth review be an impossible to get in bottles n models den in the lovely meat packing neighborhood? Why not indeed. Evening started out in the east village. After finishing up a drink, as if by some magical cosmic currents, I receive an all points bulletin on my phone. A very down low piece of information. Come to Bunker Club now, mention Jesus at the door. We’re here for Job’s birthday. LOL. Ok, I changed the names for posterity. But you know over the years you recognize party information by little details and cues. For instance I wouldn’t even try to get into this club unless you are a. armed with 2 – 3 models, b. ready to grease some palms with a Grant or two. What’s more if your cool friend texts you and tells you that YOU’RE on the list or HE or SHE has a LIST. Don’t believe them. The bouncers and clipboard nazis don’t even look at those lists. So when I received the text I read it over very carefully. The name I was asked to give at the door was NOONE I knew. Good sign. The friend who invited me was female. Good sign. The friend who invited me was very beautiful and hangs with rich guys. Good sign. The bday name was different from the name to use at the door. Good sign. Have I lost you yet? All this is required to master the world of getting into these upscale dens of sin. The place itself, well I don’t know if it’s quite as good as Beatrice was but hey there were a lot of hot people there. And tall too. Somehow everyone seemed tall. Weird. Jack on rocks + a Pacifico for a cold $ 25. Of course who would be so gauche as to even care how much a drink costs here! The DJ they had playing here was definitely on top of his musical game. No B+T tunes, or suburban hits here. He was spinning real progressive house. Very good and very good sound system. As far as sitting down, that you may find rather difficult. Each and every table is bottle service so dig out a handful of Ben Franklin’s first. The space itself is really gorgeous, beautifully decorated, barrel vaulted ceilings. Exquisite in fact. What else can I say, you wanna be here at least once.

This place is pretty sweet. GREAT spot for dancing. Had a blast on Saturday night. You still gotta know the right names to say at the door even if you are with a gaggle of leggy girls. They do it right with the crowd control, it is not too packed or too empty. Dance your face off with the great DJ who plays the tracks you won’t find on the radio. Well maybe 10% of them are. Easy to dance too and at least you aren’t paying to hear Z100. O BTW they have Bollinger. Not that most of you reading this care. Yeah, they still have the best champagne known to man. They leave that proletariat yellow label crap for the people who buy the glass.

Cool place to hang out to watch«interesting» people. I saw a guy with an ARMY shirt that had sparkles on it so… And it was kinda like tv because the girl he was with was decent looking and he was overweight. A very odd couple. I also saw two middle aged lesbians give each other lap dances. Not what I was hoping to see but was interesting for sure.

Haven’t been back to bunker since my bday fiasco in June(having been a fan beforehand), and returning with friends more into clubs/in more clubbish attire, we skipped the line per the old days, around 1 – 2 am on a Friday(super long line time)…and it was pretty much the same as I’d recalled, with the exception that the drink prices have gone up — now $ 20+ for a dirty martini… didn’t stick around for long, but the free coat check is still a nice bonus. Wouldn’t wait in line to go here, but if you’re looking for somewhere low key and a good place to escape the B&T crowds of the Meatpacking, it’s a safe bet. Can’t say that I recall the music being great or crappy, but it wasn’t crowded(as always), so nice to have space at the bar and not tripping over people to get a drink order in.

Bunker is always a good time. Another shit-show place where you can let your hair down and get dirty, ahhh I mean have fun. The cool feeling of being underground in an actual bunker gives the place an authentic vibe. The crowd is pretty hipster/touristy. If I go here, it’s never for the crowd… it’s usually because I’m meeting friends here or someone is celebrating a birthday. Tables run low here, and so do inhibitions.

Quite frankly, I don’t understand the hype that surrounds this establishment. Came here last Saturday with about 10 people after we all had dinner at STK. My group was pretty hammered upon arriving to Bunker, despite our intoxication levels we all got in fairly quickly and without any problems. Upon arriving, we noticed that the place wasn’t very crowded(considering it was a Saturday), which is a good thing. That being said though, I really wasn’t feeling this place at all! The place lacked ambiance, not to mention that the crowd was exceptionally boring and lifeless and the music was horrid. We stayed here no longer than 15 minutes, then we all ran off to 1Oak… where the party was just getting started at 1:30−2am. I will not be coming back to Bunker anytime soon unless they have a special event of some sort that will bring in a better and more livelier crowd! :) Overall, this place is quite a bore. Do try it out for yourself, and if you somehow find trouble at the door do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. This place is just not worth the fight of getting into.

I’ve always been pretty into this place, I was lucky enough to know someone who knew someone who got me a free drink but besides the drinks or what you pay(it’s MPD and at the end of a day a nightclub, you can expect to overpay for every drink) the atmosphere is incredible. Stepping down those steps to the little underground club for the first time feels mysterious or maybe it was more of those drinks. either way the place has kind of a magical feel and it’s underground semi-grunge is comfy and friendly. A great place to dance the night away with skinnys and a cute top– no heels required.

Don’t bother making a table reservation here because it’s purely subjective whether you’ll get in. Unfortunately this lesson was learned with a large group of out-of-town ladies, leaving us out in the rain(literally). If you talk/work with someone named Claudia, don’t hold your breath because reservations she makes aren’t actually valid reservations, per the doorman. Thankfully this was the only bad experience we had in NYC. We took the multi-bottle table money we would have spent at Bunker and went elsewhere.

Came here at about 1:30 on a Saturday morning. A friend’s boss at a table here, and I was the only girl in the group, so I was drinking gratis :) Getting in was easy, there was no line… but I’m not sure if this was because we had a table. The table area was very spacious, I have no idea how much the bottles ran for though. I didn’t really venture to the other parts of the club but it seemed to have a good amount of space. I never felt like, «ugh this girl just spilled her drink all over me»(but then again I was at our table for most of the night). I remember dancing wildly and having a good time. Not sure if I would go back but for what it was — I had fun.

I’m over doormen that make you wait in the cold to get into an empty bar, but my friends like this place so why not? This place is partially underwritten by the BR Guest Restaurants(which in my mind is like going to bar run by TGI Friday’s, but it is in the old Vento space, so are you really surprised?). 7 drinks. 3 people. The bartender added a 20% tip, which was $ 28. WTF? I’ve never been to a place where a bartender added a 20%(no, not 10%, or 18%, a full 20%) tip on a party of 3 sitting at the bar. I’m not even complaining about the $ 22 drinks or pathetic décor. No thanks. I won’t be back.

This underground club/lounge can go 50/50, good or bad, depending on what night you go. I would say Thursdays are the best nights to hit this place. It doesn’t get started until around 1am, so don’t waste your time here before then. It’s usually a very good looking crowd, good music(well most of the time) and plenty of sitting areas for those who doesn’t wanna do the dancing thing… The downside is the overpriced drinks(but I guess that’s Meatpacking!) and again they can go 50⁄50 depending on which bartender makes it… I had a vodka soda that was just undrinkable the last time I was here, it was like a full glass of pure vodka… ugh! Overall, if you time it right it can be a hit, but it can also be a complete miss!

I’m totally not the club type. I went out with a few girlfriends and someone’s boyfriend suggested that he could get us in at The Bunker(God, I sound so douchey even saying that). I was more interested in the people I was with and less interested in where we were going, so I obliged. It was freezing out, and we spent about ten minutes waiting for the boyfriend to talk to the bouncer and get us in(again, not my scene, but it’s alright). However, once we were in, Bunker was kind of cool. The coat check was free and the DJ was awesome(not at all top-40 stuff). The drinks were really expensive, but since I had been drinking already, I got two and called it a night. My tab wasn’t too excessive, but I’d imagine that I’d have the potential to spend a significant amount of money here to get drunk enough to dance. In short: the line sucks but the bar is kind of cool. If the mood to dance were to strike me again and it wasn’t so frigid outside, I’d return to Bunker.

a hipster virus continues its sprawl south from midtwon… as fake as flat ironed siliconed doll its gives the unreflective of us a momento of hope that if we put on a flannel shirt or don’t wear as much make-up or don’t talk about money we would somehow be more genuine, deep, less self-centered than others. Bunker would belong much better in Brooklyn serving cheap drinks, but in the heart of meatpacking with models and $ 15 cocktails it seems as awkward as hooker boots circa 09. Cool place nevertheless, definitely worth checking out once — come tipsy and dressed down, expect younger crowd and artsy music, and don’t forget to make up a good story of how you can pay for this by NOT working for a hedge fund

What better way to escape the biting cold than to burrow deep underground, order up a $ 15 vodka soda and dance the night away. Well, the $ 15 drink was kinda lame, but everything else about this new bar/club in the vapid depths of the Meatpacking District was actually pretty fun. Coat check is free, bartenders serve your overpriced drink with a smile and there is plenty of eye candy to be gobbled up. Throw in an elevated dance floor and cozy booth seating and you have a mighty fine Tuesday evening. Yes, you heard me right. I don’t dare brave MePa on a weekend and you’ll find this review reflects that. I’ve already heard disastrous things about the tight door here and I’m not about to wait outside in this weather. When you’re itching to shake that booty and don some party pants, Bunker is a good bet. Expect models and bottles. If that’s not your scene then just avoid stepping foot on those cobbled streets altogether.

I’ve noticed that afterparties/events held here tend to feature good desserts(chocolate caramel creams cups & chocolate dipped strawberries for 127 hours, cupcakes for birthdays, etc); most other mpd joints holding events are more hors d’ouevres oriented. I’ve also encountered guacamole(prob from Dos Caminos upstairs). Reception is better now at least in the bar area. Calling/texting is possible but anything requiring data is very iffy(refreshing Foursquare will lead to frustration). Friends with AT&T had the same experience.
