I really enjoy their chicken salad. I can’t help myself! I buy it by the pound! Don’t expect cranberries and walnuts though… It’s just good white meat with salt, pepper and mayo. A lot of mayo. And sometimes I think butter but don’t quote me on that. You need to get it on the potato rolls, with chopped pickles, cracked pepper and lettuce if you’re feeling adventurous. I’ve also had their chili, good with nachos or on a hot dog.

Their honey mustard chicken salad is delicious, really the best I’ve had … but I’m disappointed that I am always finding small bones(I thought it was breast meat?), so much so that I don’t make sandwiches out of it any more because I’m afraid of swallowing a bone. D&G, PLEASE check your meat better when preparing it for sale. For now, I’m going to take a break.

Local deli with menu items that include sandwiches on sub rolls, bulkier rolls, various breads and wraps. Also offer soups, salads and dinner plates. Their chicken salad has been voted the best of Boston by Boston Magazine. Great, fresh food at reasonable prices

Chicken Salad, Pickles, Onions on a bulkie. Cannot beat it EVER. Such a staple and so so good. I have never had an issue here and have been going for years. Has all the classic sandwiches you would be looking for and some awesome deli-type sides. Keep up the good work.

This place is great! It has all the classics – egg salad, tuna salad and of course, the award-winning chicken salad. Plus nice people and trivia contests! I wish I had a D & G Deli near me!

You cannot beat this Deli if you are looking for an amazing sandwich. By far my favorites are either the egg salad sandwich or the chicken salad sandwich. AMAZING. They also have a great variety of chips which sounds silly but people are so particular about their chips you can find pretty much any brand here. They also sell their chicken salad in tubs so you can take it home. This is definitely a staple in our house.

DG makes a solid sandwich. Famous for their chicken salad which is really good. World famous??? I’m not sure, but good yes. I also love the potato salad. Parking is hard but it’s defiantly a Norwood favorite.

The chicken salad is good, but a little bit thick on the mayonnaise. It really doesn’t have any seasoning at all. I also think that they cook the chicken and different way than others. If you enjoy a ton of mayo in your chicken salad, this will amaze you. Every time I have gone there the staff has been great.

Have been going here for a couple years. Have been disappointed the past couple visits. The subs are thrown together and don’t have much to them for $ 7.50 for a large Italian sub I expect a little more than a few pickles thrown in and three tomato slices as an afterthought.

I was there recently to get the Chicken Salad; second trip as I have had it before and it is amazing, good meat nice texture great meat to mayo balance. One of the workers asked if I needed a sandwich; I was totally honest in a matter of fact«No thanks the last time I got an Italian here it was not very good. There was no substantial amount of meat on it. The lady looked offended and honestly there was no intent to offend her but the truth is the sandwich was one slice very thin meat of a few meats and mostly lettuce, tomatoes, onion, pickles.. Lesson learned by me, Chicken salad is awesome worth going for but do not buy their subs. I encourage you to go to D and G, make your on mind up; maybe you have to be a regular to get extra meat on your sandwich. Worst case scenario you should be walking out with a tub of the best chicken salad you have ever had.

Subs are great, prices are great, you guys are more than fair with the punch cards but PLEASE Dear God, organize the lines. I have yet to go in there where there wasn’t an awkward and testy«I think I was here first» «well I called ahead» «well I just ordered». People are already a bit on edge having to leave their cars hanging half onto Nahantan, lets make in and out that much easier. Im trying to do 4.5 stars but it won’t let me because you’re that close to being the perfect sub shop. Not saying you have to pull a Bubbling Brook with a Gestapo list of rules but a few signs and someone peeking up from behind the counter directing traffic when its busy would do wonders.

I generally skeptical about little delis like this, but this place was excellent! I ordered a roast beef sub, and it surpassed my expectations. The sub did not lack anything, and it was not chintzy whatsoever. I will be returning to this deli more often! P. S. on a side note, I am a sucker for chicken salad. I was not aware they were known for their chicken salad. And after reading these reviews, I will be sure to order the chicken salad next time!

While they are known for their chicken salad they also have great potato salad. One of my favorite places to grab a sandwich when I am on the road. You know what else is really great about this place is they have really tasty pre made dinners. My personal favorite is their chicken cacciatore. Everything is made in house fresh daily.

The chicken salad is literally the best I’ve ever had. The seafood salad is also amazing. The prices are right, and the sandwiches are stuffed! I highly recommend this place. I go about once a week, just for the chicken salad. The potato salad is worth a try as well… so good!

The chicken-salad sandwich was tasty. I’m not sure if it was the best I’ve ever had though. But you have to admire these guys, for trying to make the world’s greatest chicken-salad sandwich. I think you either want to go with the pickles or the peppers. Both was a little too much for me.

D&G makes a good sandwich but that’s just it, it’s good, not life-affirming like others claim it to be. It’s chicken. salad. They also have other good choices too. The prices are average.

Let me tell you about D&G. D&G is home of the self-proclaimed«World’s Best Chicken Salad,» which I’ll tell you my opinion on in a minute… but first. let me tell you a story… So I was driving by the sign proclaiming chicken salad greatness on almost a daily basis and one day I decided I just HAD to have it. I called my friend Tylea and told her I had to have this chicken salad straight away and she drove up from Attleboro to join me… We we rushing out the door to get chicken salad when I slipped and twisted my ankle. Okay, not just twisted, but tore cartilage and had a swell that was literally the size of a baseball.(I have pictures, you don’t want to see them.) Not only did I not get chicken salad, I didn’t get any food at all and I had to wear a foot cast for three months. A year or two later, I told the story to my now ex and we checked it out. Get this, the chicken salad is GREAT. Okay, maybe not the best in the whole wide world. But truly great. They also have these wonderful homemade pickles and self-branded sodas. D&G lives up to the hype(in that it’s really good«World’s Best» is a bit much, since it’s a big big world), but may not have been worth the torture. The only down side… the ex got to keep it in the breakup. I both live and work too far now. :pout:
