Had the weekend buffet after ordering take out many times. While smaller selection than some buffets, each dish was prepared well and a nice variety. Tandoori chicken pieces were wonderful. Some area buffets come around and offer you a piece while this featured it on buffet. There was a delicious eggplant dish and chicken curry. The byrani was good as usual. They also had a chicken 65. Funny name. a Spicy hot taste. Take out is good and we especially like their fish. Lots of people seem to come in for fish or seafood from there. The family is friendly and pleasant. Nothing great in the ambience but I go for the food.

This Place is amazing!!! Who would think a fish and chip joint would also be serving Indian food! The food here was amazing! I had the English fish and chips and growing up in an English house hold this reminds me of my family’s cooking. My Friend had the Chicken Curry dish and of course I had to sample a little bit. Everything was so flavorful and cooked to perfection. This will be one of my must go to spots next time I am out on the East coast!

Please pay really close attention when you reach the billing counter. We were charged in excess of what was displayed on the tariff card. When we informed the owner of the discrepancy — she started abusing us saying we want free food! Atrocious customer handling by the owner where THEY had not updated their menu and were in turn blaming the customers. Will absolutely NEVER recommend anyone to go to this place. The food is shit too. Imagine them charging 5 $ for a pathetic mango lassi! Do Not Go to this place.

Utter trash Indian Pakistani, biriany lumpy, chicken Tika sour for some reason, asked for mild gave me mouth burning lava. Fish and chips ok, not fresh cut fries. Not sure why such high reviews. Maybe no competition.

What a find this little treasure of a restaurant is. They have a great weekend brunch which is a buffet with great choices and very reasonably priced. They have a great weekend brunch which is a buffet with many choices and very reasonably priced. Chicken Tikka Masala and the many curries are the best I have ever tasted! Pakistani/Indian is most authentic and perfectly seasoned. The prices are very reasonable and everything is made fresh to order in front of you. We saw many people taking large takeout orders with them. They even have fish and chips and delicious french fries and chicken wings. It’s a friendly place with lots of parking and unless someone tells you about it, you might never know about this great place.

What makes this place so special beside the great food is the family that runs it. They are amazing and authentic in every way. Placed our first order and got delicious fish and chips, chicken tikka masala and chicken biryani. Everything was really good. They forgot our french fries and called us to apologize and come in for a replacement on the house. Well we did and not only did we get fries, but 2 naan, 2 samosas, and aromatic basmati rice. We were overwhelmed with their«make up» generosity! So happy to have found this place. Delicious British Fish and Chips and Indian food! Highly recommended!

Best Pakistani food in CT by far. Everything is as authentic as can be. No watered down flavors, no skimping on the naan size, none of that. The weekend buffet is an incredible deal but even if you order a la carte, you won’t be disappointed. One of the rare places you can get Nihari, especially in Fairfield County! No need to go to Jackson Heights on the weekend anymore, now that i’ve found this gem!

We ordered chicken burgers and fries for the kids. The portions were huge as they couldn’t even finish half of it. The burger and fries were delicious. The fries were especially good. The restaurant is nice and bright. Plenty of parking around. A good experience overall.

This place is fantastic. I ordered the English fish and chips, chicken tikka masala, and the fish curry. They make everything right there and you can tell. Like others have mentioned this place is just like a British fish and chips joint. Chicken tikka masala had the perfect amount of spice, as did the fish curry. This will definitely be my go to place for quick Indian take out.

ROACHESINFOOD! VEGETABLESCOOKEDWITHDIRTUNWASHED! SERVERDOESNOTWASHHANDSAFTERTOILET! Stomach cramps! The cook at the Royal Guard Restaurant told me all this. I was debating for a whole week if I should write this review. I didnt want to for a number of reasons but it is such a horrible situation that I think I must. Customer’s left over curry, salad and chutney are thrown back into the main pot. So everyone is eating everyonrs left over. I cannt believe that people still come here even though every week customers come and complain of food poisoning, diarrhea. The lady at counter has a set habbit-she sits in kitchen while cooking and combs long hair and cuts her nail. I got great salary but I just couldnt work in this environment. I cannt believe the health department had not closed it down.

Not the greatest location or ambiance but these are the greatest fish and chips I’ve ever had in my existence – it’s the real and true recipe, no panko nonsense. They use really good quality fish as well – don’t remember the specific species but I looked it up on the Monterey Bay Aquarium Sustainability pamphlet. A+! The desi food is pretty good too, but you should really go there for the fish. :)

Excellent food! The owner was super nice. The chai was good and the naan is some of the best I’ve had. It’s the best Indian in Norwalk! Their rice is from the Himalayas! Originally a fish and chips place, and added indian-Pakistani food due to demand!

This place does not look like much on the outside, and we have driven by for the past year and wondered how a fried chicken place could put fish and chips and curry on the same menu. We arrived after seeing some pictures on Unilocal — empty on a Sunday Morning, and the owner suggested we wait for the lunch buffet which was out in 10 minutes. Boy we are glad we did. Had the chicken, beef and goat curry repeatedly. Mixed with rice, it was simply delicious. Try the goat! I often wasn’t sure exactly what I was eating, but everything was excellent. I didn’t try fried chicken or fried fish, but I can only assume it will be done well. Last time I judge a place by its exterior!

I can’t speak for the fish and chips, however the chicken tikka masala is some of the best I’ve had. And the Naan is baked fresh to order. The portions are huge.

I have been traveling on business to CT since last October and let me tell you all, this is by far one of the best«Punjabi food» you will eat in this part of the world. I really mean it. Their Punjabi Chana is out of this world good, their Punjabi Kadi Pakora is to be tried with their Rice instead of Naan. This reminds me of my mom’s cooking. She’s an expert when it comes to Vegetarian meals. As for the meat, I would highly recommend you trying their Kababs, Fish Curry, Nihari, Halim, and my all time favorite Chicken Tikka Masala. I am a hardcore non-veg lover but ever since I tried their vegetarian options, I am determined to try out everything that they have on their menu. So Stay tuned for some more reviews.

I love their food!!! I use to not liking Indian food that much until last couple months. I found this place on Unilocal and gave it a try. Just like other people said, this place has great food! Curry is amazing and the bread, omg! It’s so good. It’s not a fancy place at all, so don’t take your new girlfriend on a date. But if you dated her for over 3 years or married her, that’s a good place to go. I will surely go back again. In fact, I already went back 3 times more!!!

So, I’ve been here three times now. It’s definately consistent. Fried chicken is serious business like for instance, pizza. So I’m not one to just hand out a 5 star review hastily. But, I will say it was very good. Tender chicken(but it’s obvious that the chicken is brined or at least soaked– whic I typically don’t like), good carmalized crunch, a bit heavy handed on the seasonings but all together tasty. The fish & chips are solid as well. I like a traditional British beer batter style & this spot does it right. The chips are HOT fresh & crisp not limp steak fries or thin shoestring but actual«chips” — perfect. I can not attest to the Pakistani style cuisine. However, the naan is fantastic. Ours had sesame seeds & clarified butter drizzled on it. It was excellent. The key to good frying is: quality oil, perfect temperature, and changing out the oil frequently. It is obvious that all of these are applied here. Immaculate interior but it lacks ambience, style, finesse. Solid lunch buffet thurs– Sun. Approx seating for 8 outside. Best for takeaway.
