The General Tso’s,’ many peoples go to dish, is absolute shit here. Soggy exterior makes for disgusting chicken. Highly recommend you don’t order the Genera Tso’s.

Vegetables tasted old. I ordered tofu thinking it would be soft tofu but it was fried greasey bean curd tofu style Sushi was not great Egg and spring rolls didnt taste great It was not a busy restaurant on a Friday night. Drinks were not mixed right, my friend remarked her drink tasted like there was barely any liquor in it. Had to ask for chopsticks and water. Good prices.

Went here for the lunch and got the $ 9 beef teriyaki bento box(salad, soup, rice, sushi, gyoza, and beef teriyaki). The wonton soup is great but everything else is pretty mediocre. The service was pretty good but I would probably not come back again.

I was expecting better. My husband’s sushi dish was fine, I don’t think fake crab sticks count as «sushi» on the sushi dinner plate. Also, my dish, eggplant in garlic sauce, was really eggplant in a pool of oil. YUCK. The chicken friend rice was fine, standard. We will never return. Not worth it.

Came here for lunch. Good service, big portions and affordable prices… $ 5 soup, $ 6 sushi, $ 5 cocktails. Had a simple sushi roll, wasn’t the best but wasn’t the worst. Also had the tom yam soup. It wasnt super authentic but it was big and still good. Loved that they use white ginger instead of the pink dyed one for the sushi. Décor is better than the typical Asian restaurant but nothing special.

I go here all the time and for many years for both sushi and Chinese food and this place is just different from most generic Chinese places. This place is awesome and when I get my food I know the chef just made it and didn’t get something shipped in from china town that you just re heat. Check it out.

This review is more about experience and customer service than the food. Went in to get a lunch special. Asked how many pieces of sushi were in the Bento box and was told 5. When my lunch arrived there were only 4 so I asked the waitress. She tells me lunch only has 4. I reminded her she told me 5 and she said yes she did but made a mistake. No offer to get me the additional piece, even after reminding her I specifically asked how many to base my lunch choice off of. That shows extremely poor to a customer. I didnt make a mistake, you did. Step up and make it right. I hope that one piece of sushi was worth losing a repeat customer…

Have been here several times and I have always been impressed with the quality of the ingredients that they use. Service is also attentive, but I mainly use for takeout.

I did not try this restaurant for 2 years because I did not know about it, tucked away in the back of the shopping center. However, now I intend to be a regular because of the great tasting food and nice ambience. Prices are reasonable.

My husband and I have ordered from here and we picked up the food a few times. We always get the sushi. It is so good. Classic rolls are exactly what you want and the specialty rolls are awesome. I love the Spicy Girl roll. My ONLY complaint is the spicy tuna isn’t really spicy so I always get extra spicy mayo on the side. Went in for the lunch special of soup and 3 sushi rolls for $ 12. Can’t beat it. They have a ton of other options as well that are great deals for lunch. Food comes so quick and the wait staff are so nice and helpful :) now that I’ve moved to Norwalk it will probably be our go to spot for sushi.

Super fast delivery… I’ve used the online ordering feature twice and both times my food arrived in under 30 minutes. I love their veggie tempura: light, thin batter, nice variety and perfectly sized slices. They also will customize any dish to your liking. Another fave is the veggie chow fun. I order mine spicy with extra cabbage and scallions. The crispy spring rolls are delicious(egg rolls just so-so). The fried rice is great too, loaded with veggies and meat of your choice. This is my go-to delivery spot for Chinese food.

I always use the quality of Red Bean’s chicken to recommend them. It’s never mushy, rubbery or slimy, which many Asian fusion places fall into easily. I found this place out of pure convenience but it impresses me every time I go. I work at a store in the same plaza so it’s my go to lunch place. The sesame chicken is sweeter than most places but the sauce is delicious, it’s 100% white meat, crisped wonderfully and the chunks of chicken are huge and beautiful! The staff is quick, polite and recognizes me every time I visit. So car everything I’ve tried has been delicious. I recommend this place to any customer that comes in hungry and I am confident they’ll never be disappointed!!!

I love Red Bean. I’ve always had a pleasant experience every time I come here to eat. The staff is extremely kind and friendly! I usually always go for the sushi and rolls, while my husband goes for the dishes. I personally have never had an issue with sushi, unlike some other reviewers. Although there was one time where there was an excessive amount of tobiko on the rolls, where it was almost too much to eat. I mainly enjoy going there for the relaxed atmosphere, good food, and friendly staff

Stopped here after dropping a package off next door to UPS which was convenient and I was hungry. Tidy place, waitstaff was efficient. Kani salad(my usual start to the meal) was pretty good but was served without roe, normally present. The menu is reasonable on pricing with a mix of Asian dishes. Sushi was chewy, didn’t seem so fresh. Kind of reminded me of the prepared in advance grocery store sushi. Cooked dishes had nice flavor. Maybe go here for the latter and sushi elsewhere.

Still don’t understand the negative reviews. Our California rolls were great once again and the salmon teriyaki bento box special for lunch– excellent. Low prices and friendliest service ever, can’t beat that!

My favorite Chinese food restaurant in Norwalk. It’s worlds better than other places nearby. But don’t expect to get excellent Thai here. It’s not a Thai restaurant. What they do have is really excellent Chinese food! Especially the pork fried rice. Yum!

We ordered the Sushi & Sashimi platter for two for takeout. The dragon roll was pretty good but most of the rest was okay at best. My boyfriend(the sushi aficionado of the household) remarked that some of the rolls smelled«a little off» and he avoided most of it completely. Foolishly I tried to eat my share because I was reluctant to throw out over fifty bucks worth of sushi, which may not be a lot for a nice sit-down meal but is a pretty hefty tab for a take-out meal that won’t provide any leftovers anyway. The yellowtail in particular tasted super funky, not in a play that funky music white boy sort of way but rather in a low tide in Jersey sort of way, so we ended up tossing most of the food after all. I think you can see where this is going(I wish I had)! Fast forward four days: in huge trouble at work because I’ve been in and out with the worst case of food poisoning I can even comprehend. Checking into the hospital with severe dehydration. Which turned that meal that I wanted to get our sixty dollars out of into, like, a something-thousand dollar ordeal instead thanks to some superfun medical bills and a week of missed work. I’m reluctant to give a one-star review unless someone more or less spits on my food but sadly I think this qualifies as a disastrous dining experience. Avoid this place unless you want to enjoy tasting their sashimi for several days after you attempt to ingest it.

Half the food was great but the other half had very poor standards, don’t know if it is just a one time thing or somethings just always taste that«off» i.e. Mongolian Beef. I loved the dumplings, had the schezuan peanut dumplings those were very good as well as the spare ribs. Hesitant to order from here again as several items tasted weird and off… Great customer service though, but some food was poor :(

If you like Village Gourmet or Shanghai Café then you will like Red Bean Asian Bistro. The nice addition to Red Bean is a sushi menu. Otherwise, they are all pretty much identical. You don’t see me complaining though. The décor is nice and relaxing, it’s not a typical hole in the wall take out place. We started off a little on the wrong foot when it took about 10 minutes for a waitress to come over and take our drink order, but after that things improved. 4 of us got a mix of appetizers(hot & sour soup, eggrolls, dumplings) and everything was fresh, hot, and delicious! Entrees(chicken with string bean garlic sauce, sesame chicken, orange beef) followed suit and were just as good as the appetizers. The chicken was all white meat. Portions were very generous(not sure what the other reviewer was complaining about) we had leftovers for two more meals. For $ 70, it’s a great value for dinner for 4 in Fairfield County!
