I live in Norwalk and visited on numerous occasions. I really enjoy the coffee. However, I hate having to wait at the front door 15 minutes past the posted hours for someone to open. Today was the nail in the coffin when the young guy playing on his iPad wasn’t sure when they might have coffee brewed. Very Disappointing — Back to consistent Sono Bakery for me!!!

I’ve had better sandwiches, but I have most definitely had worse. Service: I would give this place 5 stars for service. The man who took our order was was very friendly and had a nice sense of humor. It does take a while for them to make the sandwiches, especially if it is a warm sandwich so keep that in mind when ordering. Food: I ordered a turkey sandwich on sourdough with avocado, lettuce, tomato, onion and cucumbers. The pros of the sandwich was the deli meat and the sourdough bread. The bread was really really thick, which I enjoyed. It would have had a bit more of a tang but I am used to west coast sourdough. The deli meat tasted fresh — Boars Head like instead of that slimy meat you sometimes get. However, I was disappointed by the amount of avocado. Avocado cost a dollar extra and I would say I got maybe of an avocado. Same with the onions — only four little slivers. Between the thickness of the bread and lack of fillings, the flavors kind of got lost. All in all, not bad, but not great. It could have been an off day.

This must be a joke. 12.75 for break with steak and some peppers. I wanted to try something new… I’ll stick to the 20 other other places that would give me more food plus a drink and a bag a chips for the same price. I was way too hungry and had a lapse in judgement. If this sandwich was like 7.5 $ I would sort of understand but yea I wish I could get my money back and go to jimmys.

Empty drink cases with very few choices. Inconsistent quality for sandwiches(generally, not worth it). They often run out of ingredients, and then sub in others which results in awful sandwiches. I ate here five or six times before I decided I wouldn’t come back. $ 7 for a pb&j, with most sandwiches in the $ 9-$ 11 range, which is a lot for a turkey sandwich. At those prices, sandwiches should be consistently good, as a minimum.

I was so disappointed got a stumptown hairbender at $ 2.25 a cup this was absolutely non distinguishable from normal coffee. I really do not believe the ingredients list of milk chocolate, Carmel, Myers lemon, apricot, completely non detectable. Very disappointing. I ordered the No Name. I called ahead picked it up in fifteen minutes it was ready but it was not served warm as stated. Very disappointing for the price.

4 stars for great ambiance, delicious sandwiches, and a friendly staff. I live in Norwalk and never have seen this place. Turns out they have been in business for quite some time now. They really need to lighten up the outside, to make it more visible, so far that is my biggest complaint, because had they lightened up the outside, I would have seen them sooner. And I could have started recommending them sooner. I got the cubano and the sandwich was delectable. The pork was incredibly well seasoned and they were very generous with the ham. Although the sandwich was the tiniest bit dry, the pickles and mustard battled that dryness well. Overall I found myself eating a sandwich that got better with each bite. This sandwich alone will have me recommending this business to many people. Ambiance inside is fantastic. I would love to throw an event there! They have decent seating, although it could be better arranged(many smaller tables instead of one giant table). Although the inside is a little dark as well, it has the look of to me, an ideal sandwich shop. A slightly more moist sandwich may have earned 5 stars. Either way, excited for a new great sandwich shop.

Had a great gluten free club sandwich here. Seemed like great quality meat and fresh ingredients. Staff was very nice. And a cute atmosphere to top it off.

Food is still good, but wait times for sandwiches are ridiculous now. Not sure why, but last few times I’ve waited a good 20 minutes for my order. I wasn’t the only one. If this doesn’t improve quickly, they won’t be around much longer.

Great food and great service. Only my second time coming here but it’s been A+ service each time. The Bar Sugo PBLT is delicious!

The food here is great across the board. Very interesting menu of breakfast and lunch sandwiches with a southern influence. All of the meats have a unique rub and taste, and I haven’t found a bad sandwich yet. The only downside is that the service is very slow. Easily solved problem by calling in your order, which I strongly recommend. If you don’t be prepared to wait 10 minutes no matter what you order. That said, the service is always friendly, which these days is a welcome development. I’d trade having to wait a bit longer for food if it means I don’t have to deal with people who hate their job and take their anger out on their customers for sport.

They make sandwiches. The sandwiches taste good. The pork belly was a little fatty(like my ex wife!) but pork belly may just be a fatty meat. If you are hungry around lunch time you could come in and get a sandwich. The sandwiches are filling and reasonably priced. The menu has breakfast options but I didn’t get anything so I can’t speak to their breakfast.

Has tk late night sandwich and the standard sandwich. Both were very good. Friendly staff. Wish they had more than just regular coffee and their menu is hard to read. Not the quickest service, but food was very good

Best Cuban sandwich in CT. Great lunch! I tell all my friends about this place. You have to come here more than once! The options are endless! There are so many amazing sandwiches to try. I can’t wait to come back soon.

Came here for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Tried to order the hangover but they were out of steak so I got the huevos rancheros. My girlfriend got the Strada 18 on gluten free bread. For beverages they were out of the cold brew coffee they advertised as well as orange juice so we both got waters. After sitting down to wait for our sandwiches, the guy came over and told us they were also out of gluten free bread. They put it on a whole wheat wrap instead, after already charging extra for the gluten free bread. We waited for a good period when it wasn’t busy and then got our sandwiches. My rancheros didn’t have any salsa on it as listed in there menu and didn’t taste too good. My gf Strada 18 sandwich was decent. Overall not the best food or experience. The ambience and décor are nice, along the lines of all the new hipster type eating establishments(reclaimed wood, mason jars, chalk board menu etc). When running a business in a competitive marketplace like sono, you should really try to stay stocked with all of the items you offer but then again what to expect when you have hipsters running a business. Wouldn’t be surprised if it goes out of business like many of the revolving door of restaurants in Sono have.

We have only had breakfast sandwiches here, but I have no doubt that everything at Jax & Co will be stellar. If you want something a little spicy, they have that. If you want something on the healthier side, they have that. If you want to devour a breakfast sandwich with pork belly and spicy kale, THEYHAVETHAT. Flavors are spectacular and sandwiches are well made taking construction and ingredients into consideration. The Stumptown coffee is delicious. Sandwiches take a few minutes longer than fast food, but it’s relatively prompt.

GREAT menu, great food. This has become a Sunday AM staple for us. Over the last few months, I’ve worked my way through the breakfast sandwich menu and gotten partway through the lunch sandwich menu. Favorites are the Monster(best and biggest egg sandwich you’ll ever have, with Tasso sausage, onions and cheese), the Hangover(steak, jalapeños, chimichurri), and the TK’s Late Night BLT. They also make a tasty muffuletta that comes pretty damn close to Central Grocery’s in New Orleans(having lived in NO for years, this was a big surprise to find something so close to home). Be warned: they’re not the fastest, and seating options are meh. But grab a Stumptown coffee and chill out for a few minutes. The food is worth the wait.

My second visit to JAX started with more confusion. As much as I convinced myself at the end of my first visit that the next sandwich would be «The Che,» «The Chicken and Waffle» or «The Spread» when I stared at the chalkboard I wanted everything. I was finally pulled to the register by the«Smoked Pulled Pork» and ordered. The menu described this sandwich as 16hr pork, high brow slaw, house Q, topped with Alton Brown’s Koolickles(Dill pickles brined in Kool-Aid) on a Portuguese roll. As I waited, I ogled at OPF(that’s «Other People’s Food») and saw a variety of sandwiches that I absolutely needed to try on subsequent visits. Each was large, well-constructed and looked absolutely delicious. My Pulled Pork arrived and it was the same size as my Cuban from the first visit, and almost looked like its twin sibling. The slow-cooked pork… it was outstanding, overly tender; rich in flavor and could easily stand on its own as a platter. The other ingredients elevated the pork… the slaw delivered just a touch of background tartness, the sauce added and increased level of spiciness and then the Koolickles kicked in with an interesting grouping of sweet-sour. All of this deliciousness was encased in a wonderful roll. The combination delivered a perfect balance of smoky, sweet, spicy, sour, savory… absolutely wonderful. I cannot wait to return to JAX. For the next few visits I will continue to work my way through more sandwiches… is «The Che,» «The Chicken and Waffle» or «The Spread» up next? It’s a tough decision.

Food is good but the service needs to improve. As mentioned in other reviews the wait time is excessive. When we arrived, there was no one else in front or behind us. Owner tells me she’ll bring our two sandwiches out to us. After 22 mins I notice several people who came in after us get their orders. Went to the counter to inquire and the guy there says, oh, looks through several bags that are sitting on the counter and says, here. Makes a person wonder, when they would have gotten around to giving it to me. Keep in mind, we’re sitting only 6 ft from the counter, so not only didn’t they bring it to us, they didn’t even call it out. As mentioned above the food is good. Had the hot pastrami with Swiss and a tasty spicy mustard sauce on marbled rye. My wife had the blacken cod sandwich, both good.
